Also, I'm sorry but when Leonard wears glasses with that outfit he looks so much like a Skinner-mini me from XF. Phanta, agree with me. LOL.

You know, I was trying to put my finger on what it was about the glasses/bald head...

I think you hit the nail on its bald head! :D

See...

I'm pretty sure if you watch the actual clip she's sitting on the cushion, you can see that it's lower than the middle cushion cause she's on it. But maybe I'm wrong, I don't have the clip at hand right now. Oh well, I think it's not that important if she's literally ON it or not in any case, I think what they were going for was the general set-up to be symbolic.

I keep seeing folks say that Amy was in Sheldon's spot, but was she really? I thought she was sitting on the floor in front of his spot...

Amy was kneeling with her ankles on the floor... I just re-watched the scene....a part of her ankles were visible at the beginning of the scene...

Can anyone tell me if the scene in the desert was really filmed in a desert or was it just a setting??...the background looked pretty fake

Excellent episode! Loved the way Sheldon corrected the waitress in the restaurant about Scotty being in the original series while they are doing TNG. Joke's on you! I've always liked the way he corrects people over trivial things.

Just....so happy to be a fan of this great show!!!

Yes, Amy is not sitting on the couch, she is kneeling on the floor. Actually I find it even more symbolic. You know...at the same time she is in Sheldon's spot and she is not. Like to say that that is her boyfriend's spot, and she respects that. But when he is not there, if there is someone who  has the right to sit there, well that someone is without doubts her!! :)

The imagery was not subtle. Amy could have been easily seated where she normally sits beside Sheldon, but she was in that place for a reason.

The ratings are just incredible. The show has hit new series high ratings for the second consecutive week. Almost 20 million people tuned in and the show almost had a share of 20%!

Yup!  No one can make the 'holiday' excuse anymore!  :D

Loved the episode too. My only complaint is when they were ready to go in L/S apartment Leonard made the comment about just stunning the girls because he will never get another girlfriend as pretty as Penny. Isn't there relationship past that point?

I think this is an example of one of those lines they throw in simply for the cheap laugh and not for the story aspect of it.  It has been done many, many times throughout the series by almost every character.  I think at this point we're just supposed to laugh and accept it.

My biggest complaint is that we don't get to see what happens in the apartment when the guys rush in.  I mean what happens?  Do they solve the debate? or does it become an even bigger argument as the guys take different sides based on their women.  So much comedic potential that is not only not shown but not mentioned in up coming episodes...  I really don't like how they continuously use storylines then completely forget about them in the next episode...

The problem with them rushing in would be Raj has no woman.

Raj could have went to the convention himself and the other three could have came back themselves. But there seems to be a discussion on what to do with Raj these days ever since he slept with Penny.

going to a convention by himself?

nobody does that. The fun part of going to cons is going with friends.

Raj does get a little pathetic when the girls are around. He has been around them a long time (Penny over 5 years) and they are now just friends, but he still can't talk to them. I can see him being afraid of girls he has sexual attraction to, but not P/B/A anymore. The scene in the dinner sort of made it obvious that the three guys wanted to go so that they could comforted by their women, while Raj, who had no one, wanted to go on to the convention.

Yes, I've also noticed that.

loved the girls together-how they got into

heated arguments over thor hammer.

also nice to see them eat out

@ nice buffet not at the cf.

even stuart lines at the comic book shop

were funny

poor sheldon got hit with a drink, at the dinner

he looked so vulnerabe

would like to see them rush in .

It was adjusted up in the final numbers to 6.4/19 and TWENTY MILLION VIEWERS. No sitcom has surpassed the 20 million mark since Two and a Half Men did it in May, 2005.

Just saw it. Overall not funny though I did have 2 really big laughs: Leonard taking the photo of Penny holding the newspaper & the carjackers - hysterical. Loved Raj as a Klingon and Sheldon does look pretty and young with long hair and make-up. Why write an episode about nerds who love Cons and then punishing them. What's the point; TBBT is about reaffirming  differences & enjoying it.

The diner scene was depressing, Sheldon putting away childish things because he's 'maturing.' I hope not.

As for the girls, insulting and pathetic. I wish they'd developed girls with genuine nerd culture interests. I did enjoy the comic book store, Stuart was funny but then the entire Thor's hammer argument was dull and stilted.

You must have been on the other side of the looking glass, watching the show through mud-colored glasses because you seem to be just about the only person to think that the episode wasn't funny.
