Raj's Silver Bracelet?

I just noticed him wearing it again!  Why does he wear that same silver bracelet?  I noticed it before when he was in bed getting ready to watch Bridget Jones Diary and then he was wearing it again tonight with his Star Trek costume.  I know i can't be only one whose seen it?  But does it have some sort of significance?  I mean I know Raj is metrosexual, so I can understand him wearing a bracelet but I just wondered if it means anything else that I'm not getting? Does it have to do with his Indian culture or is it something to do with Star Trek or some other fandom the guys like?   Has he worn it in other episodes too right? ...damn it now I'm going to want comb through my DVDs and try to spot him wearing it more.....this will take forever lol  Please HELP!!

off topic trivia time: the actor who played the radio operator in Hogans Heroes (sry haven't got his name for you) refused to remove his wedding ring during filming. As a result, you will rarely (if ever) see a close-up shot of his left hand during the series.

Perhaps it is something personal to him such as belonging to a family member.  I know ALan Hale, Jr.  of Gilligan's Island wore a ring in every episode and I think everything else he played in.  It belonged to his father.  So, the braclet may not be something for the charactor, but for Kunal personally himself.

That's a nice thought. :)

He is punjabI and many different people in the region wear them not just sikhs. the sikhs I know who have them get them when they are children and their hand grows larger so they cannot slip it over their adult hand and cannot take it off. I think this maybe why he always has it on, in every episode if u notice. I was thinking it must be difficult to learn to write like that if u are right handed. I know how bangle bracelets get in the way and I get tired of them after a day. I think maybe that might be the point of it, to learn sacrifice and it's like  th original wwjd braclet

My guess is that it is a Kara also.  Many men wear ones that can be taken off though.  He might just choose to wear it because it is important to him.  I don't find it to difficult to write with one bangle on.  Many bangles - yes! = )

A Kara is worn by people from the Punjab region of India.

You do not continue wearing the same Kara as you did when you were a baby ( that would not be possible).

You can take it off, you just change it for a new one as you grow.
