robertc Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 In the Bakersfield episode, there's a pale, skinny man in the comic book store. He was also with Wheaton in the Raiders of the Lost Ark ep at the film theater. Anyone know who he is? Also in the Bakersfield ep, it looked like they were driving on the freeway with the San Gabriel Mountains (which are north of Pasadena) in the rear window. Was that a mistake or is that what it looks like when you are north of the mountains on the 210? It also looks like they are driving south from the mountains. phantagrae Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Lonely Larry is the dark-haired guy in a tan jacket in the Comic Book Store. I think he and Captain Sweatpants were teamed together in the first Wheaton episode. I don't know about the mountains or the geography of the Pasadena area. I was wondering if they filmed the Vasquez Rocks scenes on a soundstage with a photo background of that area. It doesn't look as if they were really outside, but it's a pretty good composite. I'm not sure about the bit with the car driving by when Sheldon gets hit with the slushie. But that whole section was pretty well done. Shamynatress Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I think they use the same people more often. I could swear in one episode I saw Amy's mother sitting on a table in the background in the cal-tech cafeteria.....
netmouse Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Sounds like Lonely Larry. To be doubly sure, I guess, robert was it the same guy who pairs up with Wil during the card game tournament at the comic shop ?
Anomaly Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 If it's like many shows, the extras are reused fairly often. Quite a bit of the time, they're writers, stage hands, friends, etc.
Moonbase Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 If you mean this guy with Wil and Captain Sweatpants then they are right...it's Larry.

netmouse Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 That mono-brow is quite scary, too
Moonbase Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 The expression on Lonely Larry's face is priceless. Haha, I didn't notice how good it was. He and Captain Sweatpants must be the most famous extras in the US right now. I think it's great they named them.
