Rajesh Koothrappali

Raj is by far my least favorite character on the show.  To be honest, they could write him completely out and I probably wouldn't even miss him

That's how I feel. He was always my least favorite of the core four. But after the episodes where he was named one of People's 30 under 30, and the one where he put that big-ass desk in the office, I started thinking of him more as a spoiled little douche bag than anything else. And the way he lusts after Bernadette (who I'd rather see gone anyway), and throws his apparent drunken, one-night stand with Penny in Leonard's face by saying he's now one half of Koothrapenny, rather than coming clean and admitting that he didn't even have sex with her... He really is kind of a scumbag. It's too bad Sheldon didn't actually let Raj go in favor of Barry Kripke when he had the chance. Damn Barry for not liking monkeys.

I would like to see someone explain the possible causes for his mutism. It must have been something terribly traumatic and probably not really funny. I did know a bloke with a stammer who could not speak spontaneously in front of groups of strangers - but he was fine in other situations. So what's his deal? And why isn't he in treatment after all this time? This is a bigger question for me that why does X love Y, because his life would be so affected. It's such a tough premise.

Eh, aside from Leonard, all of the guys act like jerks when they have something the others don't.  They all teased Leonard about being the only one with out a girlfriend, and Howard enjoyed rubbing their faces in the fact that he had access to special equipment AND sex (with Leslie Winkle) when they didn't.  And I'm pretty sure Raj would have gotten a regular office desk instead of that Brobdingnagian monstrosity if Sheldon had been nicer about it.

There's friendly ribbing & rivalry and then there's being a scummy douche... IMHO, Raj has broken the barrier. Going through these forums, I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Poor Raj still is unable to talk to a woman while sober, even after 100 episodes

Raj's affliction was so serious that it apparently infiltrated his subconscious as well. In a dream, he brought flowers to the facility where Siri works, where he found a beautiful woman providing live interactions with the user community. Unfortunately, when she approached him with a smile and tried to talk to him, he froze up. All he has to do was tell her what he wanted her to do, and she'd do it. It's a Rajesh nightmare!

How about Raj bumping into a person at the comic book store.  This person is wearing a baseball cap and doesn't speak right away.  As they are both apologizing to each other we realize Raj has talked to a woman.  She rushes out and he follows.  The plan is that she is hiding from her parents  from India who have arranged her marriage to some old rich man.  I want him to have a girlfriend.

Can't blame him with Penny, if you dress like that then expect to be oggled at.

BTW where is the BMW Raj has?, someone as rich as him will have gorgeous women falling all over him regardless of whether he is blind, deaf or mute.

It really is time Raj, 'came out'! To quote the obvious, 'denial is not a river in Egypt', or the less subtle,'heterosexual,my ass!'.

I thought they were going to do something about his mutism bringing lucy into the picture. I'm gonna have to wait and see the future episodes for it. Now all guys have a girl. Oh how I miss the old days with four nerds and the hot neighbor.

I enjoy watching TBBT because of all the cameos and references the writers use. I can really relate. The cast does an amazing job, and their chemistry together is explosive.

Lately I find myself wanting to throw my remote at the TV. Raj's character went from "accepting," to "I can't stand to watch another scene with him." I'm really glad they corrected his vice, "the inability to speak to woman sober." In the very next scene his annoyance factor went up. Maybe it's Kunai's acting ability. I really hope he is able to break his type casting as the nuisance character. He literally brought, "Huck & Holden," to television. If a character makes you want to change the channel, that deosn't help a show.

Lucy doesn't help either. Sorry Kate but I'm glad you didn't test well among viewers.

Towards the end of, "The Bon Voyage Reaction," episode I had to change the channel when he started to whine and cry. OMG!

I say to the writers, have Raj not being able to come to grips of losing a girl, and return home to India. Keep him as a cameo guest star via skype or introduce his brother played by Kal Penn and phase Raj out.

I'm apologetic to Raj's loyal fans. Sorry.
