Her mum told her about bag snatchers so she treats the stairwell like its Khoa San Rd, Bangkok. Every day, alert for those bad guys on the moped. She white-knuckles the bag-strap as well, bless her. Why is it important that Amy make the best of herself but Raj is just fine and dandy in his ugly getup? What's the difference? May be he/she does not find raj's clothes terrible... he/she never said anything about raj... i think its bizarre that you are trying to make this about something men and women when it clearly is not.... You are not supposed to see any overlap, that is what good acting is all about, being able to create two totally different, distinct characters, and have people say 'I can't believe they were played by the same person.' - I do find it amusing though that Blossom was brought up in an early episode - "we're not getting TV's Blossom to join our physics bowl team." When I saw Amy in S04E01, I'd say I have a "tepid" reaction to her character. Then came S04E03...and I started to tolerate her. That S04E13 got me hooked on her. I believe she mentioned putting electrodes on Leonard. Since Amy Farrah Fowler is a neurobiologist (or in some episodes a neuroscientist), it is a bit odd that neither has ever mentioned the other. Both seem to be fairly well known in their field. And I don't believe they have met on the show.In passing, I don't think Amy has met Mary Cooper since the 25 cats episode, before she was Sheldon's girlfriend.
