Amy Farrah Fowler

Recommended Posts

I understand that she is costumed for a reason so I don't really watch the outfits, but I always only notice that she hauls her handbag over her head. Her mum told her about bag snatchers so she treats the stairwell like its Khoa San Rd, Bangkok.

Every day, alert for those bad guys on the moped.

She white-knuckles the bag-strap as well, bless her. I was half-wondering if she'd maintain some sort of grip on it while she hugged Sheldon. But she trusts him...

I've hidden several posts as they were off topic and could be considered inappropriate.

Yes, you already said that. I asked why. What's different about Amy's terrible clothes as opposed to Raj's terrible clothes?

Why is it important that Amy make the best of herself but Raj is just fine and dandy in his ugly getup? What's the difference?

May be he/she does not find raj's clothes terrible... he/she never said anything about raj...

i think its bizarre that you are trying to make this about something men and women  when it clearly is not....

Is it my imagination, or are they starting to dress Amy in less, and lighter, clothes?

I've noticed she's now often wearing only one cardigan (short sleeve at that), over only one shirt.

Also, the clothes she's wearing are tending to be less like "great aunt hand me downs".

I find it interesting that the character of Amy Farrah Fowler seems to have no overlap with that of Blossom Ruso.  Is there some similarity that I am missing?  Many of my favorite actors such as Bruce Campbell have lots of overlapping characteristics in their various roles.

Its two different characters so nothing is going to overlap

Blossom would never go out with someone like Sheldon. So no there no overlapping, two very different characters.

It would be amusing to have a Patty Duke style episode and have Blossom and her bros show up as Amy's cousins.

When Blossom met Amy! I wonder what  a interaction between them would be like?

You are not supposed to see any overlap, that is what good acting is all about, being able to create two totally different, distinct characters, and have people say 'I can't believe they were played by the same person.' - I do find it amusing though that Blossom was brought up in an early episode - "we're not getting TV's Blossom to join our physics bowl team." :)

I wonder if Mayim ever found out about that?

I like how Mayim played the Amy role. Amy as well as Mayim grew on me. Now I'm following her blog on Kveller. When I saw Amy in S04E01, I'd say I have a "tepid" reaction to her character. Then came S04E03...and I started to tolerate her. That S04E13 got me hooked on her.

Condolences to Mayim and her family. Her father died recently, which explains why she's not seen much in the show lately.

Just got myself my very own, life size AFF

Amy is kind of freaked out by Blossom. She's too emotive. Too much random dancing.

Which reminds me.

Has anyone else seen the video of Mayim doing the Blossom dance on stage?

From about 45 seconds in.

I wish they'd let Amy wear her hair loose more often.

She has beautiful hair but, if memory serves, she's only had it completely free in three episodes.

When we first saw Leonard's mother Beverly Hofstadter in season two, she told Penny that she was a neuroscientist.  I believe she mentioned putting electrodes on Leonard.  Since Amy Farrah Fowler is a neurobiologist (or in some episodes a neuroscientist), it is a bit odd that neither has ever mentioned the other.  Both seem to be fairly well known in their field.  And I don't believe they have met on the show.

In passing, I don't think Amy has met Mary Cooper since the 25 cats episode, before she was Sheldon's girlfriend.

The idea has been floated on the forum, that the Mrs Fowler we saw in The Desperation Emanation, isn't Amy's biological mother.

If that turns out to be the case, and they introduce Amy's real mother, I suggest Valerie Landsburg for the part.

I always wanted Bette Midler to be her mom!

OK, just want to say, I think Amy has been specifically funny in S.11, I LOLed a lot of her scenes and lines.

(Yeah, seeing the "dressgate", I thought I could come here and show a little support...)
