Jim Parsons

I've read that Jim doesn't stay out and greet fans at tapings because he gets swamped., much more than the others. I think maybe this person expected a little much.

All I can say is poor Jim, he really doesn't deserve that sort of gutter press, but it's to be expected.  "Studio Insider"  sure!

Yeah I agree. That's why he has no acounts on,Tweeter  and Facebook. I'm so not surprised. He must have a lot of force to protect himself form that sort of shit..That kind of people doesn't care for other people feelings. If that person were his  true and faithful fan there's no force on earth, which could  force that person to say such nonsenses, about someone .whom he loves/likes.

I agree with Monique, it's okay to want something but if he/she were really a 'devoted fan' as claimed then they would already know about Jim's process and they wouldn't be bad-mouthing him in public. We all know that Jim stays more serious and focused on the sets, it's there in so many taping reports, he's even talked about his need for concentrating and rehearsing while on the sets.  We've seen how friendly he is with his fans in his Broadway stage-door appearances, where he's off the sets and is in less danger of being mobbed.

I do think Jim has a universal attractiveness, even more because so much of his charm lies in his niceness and genuineness as a person. Anyone from teenagers to grandmothers can be fascinated by him!

Lol at that video. :D

You are very much right in this. Jim´s beauty is not only his eyes, lips, etc, etc, etc we love to stare in his photos and our TV screen. He has an incredible inner beauty and probably is the main reason for our love toward him!

It is beyond my imagination to understand why lot of people like to buy those type of magazines :icon_eek: Who knows if that "fan" even exist and maybe the writer of this magazine only sat down at his desk and thought: "ok, let me see what nonsense thing I will write here for filling this white space..."

I don't know where that picture has been taken, possibly in some tv-talk show etc. That photo is from "We love Jim Parsons" on Facebook. Check it out, nice pics there. Including this: :icon_wink:
There is one pic there where he looks incredibly young, almost like a teenage school boy. He has a light blue shirt on that picture.

Well "The Fan" may just be annoyed because he/she didn't get the autograph they wanted, but its the so called "Studio Insider" that annoys me.

Sounds like JP's a method actor by the article's description of his onset behaviour and also what's been said above. Seems like he doesn't stay in character throughout the whole shoot like some do though, as he does leave his character to interact with the other cast members.

I read an article about how Marilyn Monroe 'changed' after studying method acting with Lee Straasberg and went from being chatty and open with the support crew to seeming somewhat diva-ish and distant. My guess would be that she was simply more focussed and trying to remain in character as she'd been taught.

As regards the fan interaction, perhaps Jim has had bad experiences with stalkers in the past. Being told 'I love you' earnestly by a complete stranger must be pretty unsettling, not to mention being mobbed. Scary!

I don't know that Jim's a method actor--I don't recall him ever mentioning that in discussing how he prepares.  But he has talked about how he works on memorizing not only the difficult jargon, but also Sheldon's convoluted way of talking, and part of that includes pacing around either at home or onset while he works through his lines.  He has also talked about getting the "muscle memory" in his mouth for all those lines, etc.

I think he just needs to stay focused while he's working, it's just his way, and I think it's part of what makes him so good.

There was a really good interview/article from when he was getting ready to open in Harvey on Broadway and one of the things that was said was that while he was very friendly and charming in "real life", that when he was working he was so focused on what he was doing and the specifics of how they were working things out onstage, that sometimes he would say things that maybe came across as being a little blunt, but that it was just part of his process, not anything personal or meant to be rude or whatever.  I think it's just the way he focuses and prepares.

And afterward, well, he has often talked about how he usually goes to bed early and it just may be that he's tired and ready to go home by the time they've finished the taping.

I'm sure we would all love it if he were to stay after every show and talk to the fans and sign autographs, but it's not as if he's not giving and friendly under other circumstances.  And he does seem to genuinely love and appreciate the BBT fandom.  I just think that the aftershow stuff is just not his thing.

:)

I agree with every word phantagrae.  I want to add that he is just devoted to his work, he gives himself completly to become one with his charakter. That's why he is so briliant actor.

Everyone is so tired after work, so he can be tired to, is a normal thing. Besides when they have taping he must thinking about the text , about the lines. In actors work not only lines counts, he must play this charakter with all his body, with facial expressions, body language, with his entire being to show the true character he play, feelings and everything, to create character so we will believe him, believe in what we can see  on a screen. I bet it's so  exhausting that we must trying to understand.

And when there is occasion he is nice to fans ,he appreciates them and gives a lot of autographs. I'm sure he is grateful to us fans for everything, but for him this is his job, this is his passion, he love to be an actor, but for him it's just his job. Normal thing. And the fame is just a bonus. Sometimes lovely and nice sometimes, not. And I don't thing that he is diva or something, this adoration and words "I love you" makes him uncomfortable, and awkward not because he is diva, but because this embarrasses him, may sometimes too overwhelmed, and he do not know how to behave. He is too great to rid of someone, he's always nice and respectful for fans, when he can, but  after all he can't say," I love you too" to someone strange. He is not that person who do something for fame for pictures, but he appreciate us. And we love him.

I agree with Phanta. Also can identify very much with how you have most of Jim's quotes as well as comments about him down verbatim in your memory. :)

I've wondered whether being recognized or typecast as Sheldon is annoying to Jim sometimes. He's such a sweet-natured person that it's hard to tell, and it's a role he loves to play (as well as being a break-out character); still, for such a talented actor, it must feel limiting at times that he has 'imprinted himself over and over again in people's minds as Sheldon' (in his words). Even reviews of his Broadway performances keep comparing him to Sheldon. He's occasionally protested against it in typically humorous ways, like his 'that's Sheldon - no it's not, my name is Jim in real life' story on Letterman.

Has this video posted here earlier, where Jim is dancing? I post it here just in case someone hasn't seen it. :icon_redface:

WOW     I love it. Thank you for posting this. He is so funny in that video, and he have  distance to himself, and that smile brightening up his face and these eyes. This man is going to kill me some day. :icon_redface::icon_lol:
