dessertisserved
I loved his singing and you can tell he has what is called "stage presence" so my hope is that some producers were watching who want to put him in their musical. That way I can make my way to NYC to watch Jimmy Pea live! My favorite was the serial killer skit and then I thought the murder mystery skit was going to be funny (especially because Sheldon never wants to participate with Raj's events) but it fell flat. The pants dropping and ass-man tickler were obvious TBBT references but the whole thing was wit-less and not funny. Jim was the only thing that made the skits interesting . I have not watched SNL for a while because the poor writing has been a problem and when something funny does happen you can watch on youtube. I don't know if Jebediah Atkinson is a regular but he should be. As long as no one criticizes Jim I'm ok. The writing was poor. But Jim was a hit. He looks so good in a suit. rachelshamyfan
Is it me or does he have a sexy way of just standing? Kinda like how he walks sometimes as well (for example, the walk into Amy's body during the kiss)

Convict13
Yes that is true...sadly the writing was pretty dismal. He deserved much better material than he was given. The monologue was OK, the Crapping the Pants sketch? Really? Not funny. Ellen and Johnny I get the joke about Ellen moving about a lot on her seat, but that was just too distracting in this context. JIm deserved much better than this, these are the Best comedy writers at the moment?

stardustmelody
Have they uploaded the whole show yet? No...It is one and a half hours long. It probably won't be up until tomorrow at the earliest since it is already 3:30 AM in NYC. But Here is: His monologue: http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/jim-parsons-monologue/2753005 His cold open in the Ellen sketch: http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/the-ellen-degeneres-show-cold-open/2753003 Edited March 2, 2014 by stardustmelody
phantagrae
I wish they had come up with something a little stronger, but I still found a lot of it pretty funny. I even liked the elevator skit. The one I liked. The least was the murder mystery. That one seemed to have no real point and then just ended when his character walked out. I liked the cowboy sketch until the end. I liked his character's convoluted impractical ideas--and that accent!!!--and I thought something funnier was going to happen after his walk at night. So while the idea of the ending was funny one on level, it didn't really play out all that well. I don't know what would have been funnier, but I wanted something different. And also, more JP in a cowboy hat, please!

So while the idea of the ending was funny one on level, it didn't really play out all that well. I don't know what would have been funnier, but I wanted something different. And also, more JP in a cowboy hat, please! The creepy killer was my favorite then the elevator skit. I thought the cowboy one was amusing as well, but didn't care for the end of that one. The murder mystery had potential but was so poorly written and Jim kept looking out at the cue cards on that one so it was evidently a more recent addition to the show. He seemed to know most of his lines on the other skits. Also the murder mystery ended abruptly and in that one I felt like they made his character closer to a Sheldon-like character who was wanting his way. I actually think it would have been far funnier if he had truly acted like a lustful pervert or something in that skit since his "character" was supposed to be one, instead of an uptight person that didn't know how to play it. That part was a little too close to Sheldon (which was what he was trying not to do). The open with him as Johnny Wier I didn't really care for, partially because "Ellen" was moving way too much in her seat and driving me nuts, but also because it didn't really go anywhere or do anything. It was just sort of making fun of him being "gay" and I guess I am not a fan of Johnny Wier anyway so it was kind of not my thing. I also wasn't crazy about the Peter Pan skit because again, it was not that funny. The 12 slaves thing was good as was the creepy killer. The reviews are rather mixed, but most feel the writing of the show was pretty dismal. There are a few that felt Jim wasn't comfortable with cue cards and that he appeared nervous. They also felt that he didn't show as much depth as he wanted to show, which may be true, but that could partially be because it is his first time hosting and also the writing was really pretty weak. He is used to some of the best writers out there so it must have been surprising to have such weak writing. vonmar
My favorite line: "I am not like Sheldon. I am not a scientist. I don't speak Klingon. I do have a male roommate, but I assure that's a vastly different arrangement." Ha, I knew he would do Johnny Weir! I thought Jim did great with what he was given.
