Maybe they know that the author is a male role and the reporter a female role?  I wondered about that as well.

Either way, it sounds like he'll have one of the two leading roles, and that makes me very happy! :D

It's about freakin time

Yes it actually said they were looking for  the female lead to star opposite him, so I think that infers he is the male lead.  I am so happy for him and happy they are giving him a romantic lead role because I think he really wanted one of those.   That is great for his career and will help him shed some of the Sheldon-like persona that everyone fears will hold him back in the future.   Plus we get to see him being romantic.   :swoon:

This is from Double Nickel Productions - who also produced Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood's production company Mal Paso

THE EARTH WAS BLUE

A romantic comedy about a TV journalist who tries to restore her career by finding the anonymous author of a bestselling novel and putting him on the air. Jim Parsons (THE BIG BANG THEORY) is attached to star as Noah

The reporter is a female.  I too volunteer for the lead as I could embrace the disgrace with earnest.  Can anyone recommend a good place for head shots? or do you think they'll take passport photos from Walgreen's? :icon_cheesygrin:

I can see him playing the reporter who was disgraced. Great comic scenes of him I would think.

I agree, the illusive and anonymous author of a book that has changed the world, might be an older character.

Trying to convince myself that the only thing holding me back from getting that female part is my youth. Yes, that's the problem, I was born in the wrong decade. Otherwise I would totaly have a shot.

Do you even watch the show?

Sheldon's father is not lost, he died long ago.

And Sheldon/Jim doesn't look anything like Rowan.

. It would be a miss understanding that he never died, it was someone else, and his real dad was wondering around lost.

Yes I do, every episode, that's the joy of Tv acting humor , anything can twist and change that's what makes it interesting. :)

Oh it seemed like it was an ongoing thing

Yeah, I had to reread part of the article again because the other production credits they mentioned were TV shows. But it is for sure a film. Sounds like it could be interesting. Hope they get a good cast to work with him.

My impression it is a romantic comedy that also has drama so I thought that meant that the man and woman were having some sort of romance going on.  If it is rated R, my guess is it will be  more like "Ted" , "Friends with Benefits", or "Bridesmaids" or something along those lines given the rating.

What does those ratings mean? Is it rated based upon how sexy it's gonna be? Or something else? What's the scale?

Sorry stupid question but don't have those kind of ratings where i'm from.. so have no clue!

R movies normally have bad language, like words that can't used on the show for example, or have sex scenes that show nudity. Or it has a lot of violence, which I don't think is the case for this movie.

Where does it say that the movie will be rated R? Movies usually don't get their ratings until after they've been filmed and edited, I believe, unless the script details certain kinds of dialog or scenes, I guess. But even so, I don't think they're given an actual rating until they've been filmed.

At this point is there any more information on the characters? Is there an IMDB entry for it (not that their information is always accurate...)

We know he'll be playing Noah and that it's a leading role, but I don't know that that means he'll be the author. Or that he'll be in a romantic role.

If the reporter girl is trying to track down this illusive and anonymous author, I would think that the author would not necessarily be onscreen until toward the end when she finds him.

The only way I can see him being the author AND being the romantic lead would be if she finds him early on and in trying to get him to go public, they develop a relationship.

I want more information about his character...

It will be on the casting call for the female lead Phanta. "Must be comfortable with nudity and scenes of a sexual nature".
