Crying. I noticed he smokes in this movie, too. Interesting.

You're right! I didn't realise it was him holding the cigarette here:

I know this makes me a bad person but I have to admit that I find it hot when he smokes..

OMG I do too. I hate the things smoking does to you, but the actual act of smoking, especially on him, is pretty sexy.

Didn't he say he quit smoking like 10 years ago? That's a huuuge commitment it'd be sad if he had to smoke for a scene ...

In the US your usually not allowed to use real cigarettes for films and TV because of subjecting others (cast and crew) to second-hand smoke.  And as a former smoker, I'm sure he didn't want to smoke real cigarettes, so I'm sure he's smoking herbal/fake cigarettes.

I wonder how old he was when he started--high school? college?

Why it's ok for me to find it attractive, cause he's not actually harming himself :p

Yes exactly. :D I find smokers' mannerisms sexy. I'm not sure why. In this case, we get the sexiness without all the gross side effects. :p

Even fake cigarettes can be a bit of a trigger for an ex smoker though. I've done fake smoking on stage after I quit real smoking. It was the wierest thing ever. Even if there's no nicotine.. it's still like eating food without tasting it. Just the action of holding the damn thing reminds you about the taste.

Well we only see him in that clip hold it while it it lit.  Perhaps he never really puts it up to his mouth in any scenes. It could appear he is smoking creatively without ever touching his lips. :girlwink:  I too wondered if it would trigger things for him and I am sure he took all precautions to avoid anything triggering that in him.

Yeah, the same way he creatively eats on tbbt! ;)

It's been so many years since he smoke now so I dunno really how it would work for him.. but I guess if you once have gone through the process of quit smoking you try avoid triggering the best you can for the rest of your life, even as an actor.

Yes, I've read that all of the habits kind of go together--the physical act of holding something between your fingers or having something in your mouth (a la the famous Kojack sucker) or doing something after eating.

I'm sure he's fine, but it would be interesting to hear him talk about whether or not it was an issue for him.

someone needs to convince jim to get on twitter..... soon I wouldve been and watched every interview of him on the internet... lol ( exageration)..... but im putting a dent in the,m.... but really though....Jim needs to make himself for accessiible....

We all love him to pieces, but Jim also is very private and we need to respect that in him.  He tried twitter and didn't like it and got rid of it a long time ago.  He doesn't have FB or any other social media because he likes privacy.   I respect that in him.  It is a hard business to be in and fans can get over zealous and pushy at times (including me).  :girlwink:   Others that are hateful can say some really mean and cruel things. :ireful:  I respect his choices and think he is very wise to avoid that kind of access. :good:   It doesn't mean I don't wish he had accounts for fan access like that, but I understand as a person and one that likes privacy myself, how he enjoys his and therefore am willing to forego my desire about the matter because I know he is very happy.   Having ability to live life like you want is just as a important and stars rarely get that chance once they become well known. :girlsigh:

Aaaww wonderful! This is one of my favorite interviews with him, this and the long one from paleyfest!

I really prefer these kinds of interviews before those late night shows with craig and conan etc.

Me too, I prefer long interviews too. They can get way more into details etc.
