This ^.

I don't object to anyone saying Jim would make a good father, maybe he would but whether he should is up to him. Not all gay couples want children but it doesn't mean they don't contribute to their own families in other ways.

As do many straight people who don't have children.  (This proud aunt raises her hand.)

No offense, Silverangel, but the only perfect person is one you don't know very well.  Jim does seem like a great guy who anyone would be lucky to count as a friend.

Not only is Jim incredible with physical comedy and timing, he is also a dedicated actor.

At Paleyfest, the creators/writers shared these tidbits about Jim:

1)  He learned how to play the theramin just because they wrote it in.   (Yes, I had to look up theramin.)   Apparently, it is very hard to learn but Jim worked at it and it was him actually playing the theramin on the show.

2)  Jim is a genius at improvising.  Jim is so good that the writers just write script instructions like "Sheldon smiles uncomfortably".  They know that Jim will create something amazing.   Jim has done some super creepy smiles and facial expressions that freaks me out but he's managed to keep it sympathetic at the same time.  I still adore Sheldon while being creeped out.

3)  Jim can't remember how he came up with Sheldon's laugh but the writers won't let him change it because it's so distinctive.

No it's ok.

Yes I don't know him, you don't know him either. I wrote so many times that he's perfect, why it bothers you. I won't impose my opinion to you. It's my opinion and  he may have some character traits that I would not like, but his benefits are more important to me. And yes I would be lucky to have a friend like that. Again, I don't know him, but I can have an opinion like this( "he's perfect"), don't I? There's so many people who wrote similar things to mine (about that "he's perfect") and you bother what I wrote? Why?

As to the children, I wrote that he may have some predisposition to be great father, and that's it. I wrote that I don't see him adopting children for exemple, but it's just me. I wrote that he does not need to have children, because he is sensitive and loving to his family. I don't suggest that he must have children or not. I just wrote about his character traits which are wonderfull to me. And it was about Jim and only about him. That's it.

Thanks so much for the pictures, Silver! He looks like a dream in that suit and blue shirt matching his eyes. He also seemed to be in a super-lively mood on the panel (from the few clips I've seen), teasing and flirting with Mayim and throwing hilarious one-liners.

I'm sure he does dislike posing like that, anyone who isn't a narcissist would. All that shouting and ordering and flashing lights. He did make a quiet comment about getting a stroke. :) He handles it gracefully enough, though - they get used to it, I guess, as one of the unwanted side-effects of their job.

Yeah he just uses his skills and works it. I have friends who can act and it's been useful in the oddness situations.

My pleasure. I love first one, because he looks straight as if he were looked at me/us with those beautiful, heavenly blue, so amazing eyes

I agree with you about him posing like that. His facial expressions and slight smiles maybe  are the same in many pictures but It looks natural and without any artificial and forced smile. He is so far away from narcissistic atitude in many ways.  Posing, all that shouting and ordering and flashing lights -this is a little worse side of being an actor.

Here's a short article/interview with Jim that just went up today...

http://www.lamag.com/laculture/lastory/2013/03/13/jim-parsons

I remember reading an interview that Jim did years ago where he said that in one of places that he lived in NY that whenever it snowed or rained it came through the roof into their bathroom because the skylight was broken in the apartment he was renting.  I wonder if he ever goes past that old apartment and shake his head .

Actually he should say thanks to that apartment. Thanks of that experience he is enjoying more what he has now. And probably that apartment make him a better person too, now he is a star, but he knows what is to be an ordinary person.

Exactly. And also, Jim seems to be the kind of person to take it all lightly - he'll never let his sudden success and fame go to his head, just as he was positive through his struggles. All it means to him is that he can do nice things for his family now.

I agree with you ladies. Given his success and all this admiration of fans and the most important thing for him isn't his succes, being famous person, and all this stuff which make someone so Hollywood, for him is important  his job, acting, and he want's to do it as best as he can. He once said after receveing  golden globe or emy I can't remember on question: did he expected an award that he wins? He answered: that he's so happy and surpriced and he didn't expect it at all, he didn't even had a speach, and only actors like Maryl Streep can expect awards.

It shows that all he does he doesn't do it for awards he does it because he loves

He came to his fame quite late, so he was already mature but he has changed. I think it's impossible not too.

He came to his fame quite late, so he was already mature but he has changed. I think it's impossible not too.

The change I see is that he comes across as more confident and expressive in his interviews and public appearances now; he was more shy and held-back in his earlier interviews. The kind of mischievous joking around he was doing on the Paley panel wouldn't have been possible 4 or 5 years back, I think.

Also, he claims that he's become less friendly and more cantankerous over the years, but we can't judge how accurate that is without knowing him personally. Those around him still seem to find him quite friendly, but I'm sure there are occasions when he's not in the mood for talking to fans and ends up avoiding them.

I think he's more professional and not the 'open book' he once was. He was always flirty and accessible though. These days, I don't always know if he's saying what he thinks he should say, or what he really means. This is not a dig at Jim because I'm still a big fan. I just can't tell anymore, before you really could tell.

I agree I had notice that he is  more daring and bolder in interviews and he shows his views talks about his opinions  and answers the questions more expressive way. Like we could see on Paleyfest he and Mayim are  sweet couple with sepcial feelings for  each other and fans love them because we can see whole the chemistry between them are true, and beautiful.

He isn't so withdrawn, like if  everything (and I mean success, awards, and praise the fans) what happened to him after  TBBT  was accidently, and  he doesn't make himself a great star, he's modest in all this. If he avoids fans, he does it because he probably has a reason for it like everyone else, has the right to a worse day, tiredness, and malaise.

I agree about his professionality, and I think that is good for him that he  isn't an open book because he learn that with sucess comes kind of fame and he needs to protect his privacy. But I think that we can feel when he talks the truth or his opinion about something, or when he's honest, and when he talks what someone told him to, because it is in body language and expressions. And I  think that there's some kind of things which he can't play during interview, and I think that he couldn't change so suddenly to someone who's scheming.

I think that maybe it depends on about what kind an interview we are talking about,  and questions that someone asks  in interview.

I want to add that  it's  only my opinion and I'm not impose anyone to think like I think. ;):)

I guess you need to become more "savvy" when it comes to dealing with the press and the constant attention. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's had to change a bit to deal with that new part of his life.

I guess you need to become more "savvy" when it comes to dealing with the press and the constant attention. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's had to change a bit to deal with that new part of his life.

I remember David Duchovny talking about how he found that some things he said in early interviews didn't g over well with some of his friends or family. Like he was too frank or not quite circumspect enough, and that he found that he had to be a little more careful about what did or did not share, or maybe how he said such things.

I'm sure that Jim has probably gone through a similar process as he has become more famous. He does a lot of interviews and seems to be asked to do a lot of things like appearances, etc. All those interviewers can take any little thing he says or does and blow it out of proportion or spin it to mean something he never intended. That stupid "diva" article is typical of such crap.

I don't think much of that is going on--he's not a controversial person, I don't think--but I'd bet he knows more about such things now than he would have before.

I loved his first appearance on Craig Ferguson--his first talk show ever. He was s cute and shy and nervous, and Craig was so sweet to him at the end.

But I do think that he's become more confident and settled on talk shows, but it does seem to be his personal style to kind of hedge a lot of what he says, like he's afraid of saying the wrong thing or of offending anyone. He sometimes gets a little convoluted in trying to set up a point, but it's cute. :)
