They have been in negotiations throughout the summer, while the cast has been off doing their own things.  I am not even sure that the cast's signatures matter, except ceremoniously.

I would think that their lawyers have power of attorney and can sign on their behalf, with their clients approval.  During the 2010 negotiations I remember reading that Jim, Johnny and Kaley were represented by the same law firm.

Jim now has a different law firm, but you are right, they often give POA to their representatives.  I am sure he can have his attorney sign on his behalf or for that matter even fax a copy that Jim can sign and fax back.  It isn't difficult today with technology to send .pdf files, faxes, etc. and not require you stay in one place.

I do suspect this was not a "planned" trip but sort of impromptu.

He needs to sign and get it over with. I love jim but this is not making me happy.

It isn't just Jim who hasn't signed yet. And it's really not about what makes you or any other fan happy. This is part of the business that they are in. It he, Johnny and Kaley are leveraging for better deals from the studio that makes a shitload of money off of their creativity, talent and hard work, then more power to 'em.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...we don't know any dollar amounts.  We only know suspected amounts and those were all from media frenzy coming up with those numbers.  The only folks that know what kind of dollars are being discussed are those directly involved in the negotiations.  So please, make sure to squelch rumors about amounts.   The media could be way off on their estimations of what is being asked.   I think it has painted the cast in a bad light as it is and now it is making them look unreasonable with their articles.  So please just know that you can't trust that for now.  Let's wait and see what transpires and go with actual agreed to numbers when they become available.

He promoting the crap out of home and its not even until next yr. Why isnt rhianna promoting it too?

Jim needs to promote TBBT like he does other projects. Cough, cough TNH, home

I don't think he really needs to promote TBBT. It's not an out of the ordinary production. Everybody and his mother knows about Big Bang. Things like Home and TNH do need that kind of promotion.

I expect that he'll be making the rounds for Big Bang come September since it will be on a different night to begin with.

I remember the Friends cast getting some harsh criticism when they got their 1million an episode for two seasons (about 48 million total for the last two seasons for each cast member)

Ashton Kutcher got 24 million for the whole season between between June 2012 and June 2013. Anyway these Contract Disputes happen all the time, it part of the business.

We all know what happen with the Modern Family Cast and Their Contract Dispute which ended with them taking 20th century Fox to court.

Dreamworks just put out rather dismal financials.  Jim is a big part of the success of Home (as is Rhianna, mind you).   But Jim is probably easier to work with, more polished and comes across more mature and overall is a delight. I  am sure they would rather have someone they can depend on and who can deliver what they need and that is to deliver a positive impression and to make it desirable to backers and potential viewers.  Jim does that well.   Right now they are going to promote the heck out of it.

As Phanta said, he does what he is asked to do with The Big Bang Theory, but CBS is in charge of promoting the show and they will promote it right before the season starts.   They don't usually do much between.   RIght now, however, with the negative press going around about the contracts, CBS PR would be wise to do something positive to counter-act all the nasty rumors going around.

Who knows, but I would guess spend the night and fly out in the morning.  It will still be morning in LA anyway if he flies out early.   But it went until around 10 PM their time so he probably wanted to sleep and get up early and fly back out rather than make it home in the wee hours of the morning.  He may have had to schmooze with some of the execs after the event ended as well.

Calling him fat is an insult. So report, report, report.

No need to argue with them about it. Anyone can see he's not fat. Its just a ridiculous thing to start a fight about. Like argueing wheater the sky is blue or not. These people know they are wrong. Don't feed the trolls :p

Chicago is only half-way, about a 4 hour flight and if he traveled with Jeffery Katzenburg, they might have flown private.

So vonmar why weren't you heading down to the Hyatt Regency? :)
