Jim Parsons

Well... everything is Matthew McConaughey this days, it seems. Or maybe is just me, that I only like nine or ten actors in the entire entertainment world, and those are pretty much the whole Big Bang cast... lol Hope, Jim can make it. That the casting director gives him the opportunity to show his professionalism and dedication to prepare for a role, because, in the end, that's what counts.

Something to have on our radar...

Honored @JimmyKimmel & Brad Pitt will support the 1st #DiamondBall benefiting Clara Lionel Foundation on Dec. 11! http://Claralionelfoundation.org

It takes place in Beverly Hills on the Thursday between the 12/9 taping and the 12/16 taping, so he will be in LA.  So maybe he will attend in support of his Home co-star?  Also, Brad Pitt was one of the co-producers of The Normal Heart.

Jim, Jim, and more Jim! thank God. :D

I read the Golden -Globes nominations are close... does Jim have a chance as supporting actor in tv movie? or there's no supporting category?

The SAG nominations are announced on Wednesday 12/10 and The Golden Globe nominations are announced on Thursday 12/11

I doubt he will be a supporting for The Normal Heart.  There is no supporting category for SAG and they combine all of the supporting categories into one for the GG.  So for the GG, supporting drama, comedy and movie/mini all compete in one award slot.

I would really love to see him win the SAG, first of all it is a peer award-actors voting for actors, secondly it would give him the rare TV quadruple, the Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG and Critics Choice.  Jim already has three out of the four.

Isn't the critics choice a new award??    < 3 years........

The Critics Choice Awards have been around since 1995, but they only honored film.  In 2011 they added a separate event to honor TV.  Jim won the TV version of the award in their first year. 2011 and again in 2014.  Because it is an award given by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association and not by industry people. it is now considered quite prestigious.

There is also the Television Critic's Association Awards which he won in 2009,

Is that the Jiminy Cricket method?

I would teach him the Lauren Bacall method:  "Just put your lips together and blow"

I wasn't really quoting anyone, though I did have the Lauren Bacall quote in mind. I was just imagining what I would say to him. Then I would grab his face like Rihanna did...

:p

This is The cutest interview. They are an unlikely duo, but they're really funny together.

cute interview...but you can see the age difference in just how they answer questions. Its cute though..

but yea, he doesn't need selfie tips.  He is well beyond silly selfies with duck lips.....

It just reminds me of Jim and Kaley in older interviews.. Lol

well went on my hunt... No spotting but it was a pretty cool feeling standing exactly where Jim did about 2 hours ago....I love having in my city....even though the odds of actually seeing him in a city of millions is slim to none....it still gives me a warm & fuzzy feeling!!

I don't know,  I've bumped into the Queen a couple of times, and Princess Diana twice and Kate and William earlier this year, seriously was not going out of my way to see any of these people, and I live in Australia. So what are the odds of that, certainly your odds of bumping into Jim must be much higher.

I'm so enjoying this conversation and learning about your other celebrity crushes. And I have to say--you guys have GREAT taste.  :) I saw Star Wars in the theater when I was a kid and I had no idea what was going on...but HAN SOLO. Oh boy. And when I was a teenager, I would take the bus to the mall, not to shop, but to see Raiders of the Lost Ark--oh, about 10 times   :icon_redface:

Is it wrong that when I read "sex pervert," I imagined Mrs. Wolowitz's voice?

Yes, I feel that Jim is age-appropriate for me. My teenage daughter asks if I think various male celebrities are "cute" (the People Sexiest Man Alive issue has just come out), and if I'm old enough to be their mother, then NO.

I had a huge crush on Harrison Ford as a teenager, too, and I fell in love with Han Solo and then Indiana Jones!  I saw Raiders of the Lost Ark at the theater probably eleven times the summer it came out in '81, just to enjoy him a little more!  I secretly fantasized about marrying him one day even though there was 22 years difference in our ages, and wouldn't you know, that is exactly the same age difference between him and his current wife, Calista Flockhart.  Darn it!  :)

Holiday happiness...

10802849_382042011971481_541597748_n.jpg

I grew up in Queens, NY and every year my mother would takes us to see the Christmas Show at Radio City Music Hall and then ice skating at Rockefeller Center.  NYC is is even more magical at Christmas.

It's my favorite time of year to see NYC, and I've been there throughout the years to visit and attend the Christmas show at Radio City many times as well, and been walking those streets through all kinds of weather, beautiful sunshine, bitter cold, rain, sleet, but no matter the weather or conditions, to me the City is never more beautiful than during the holidays.  Last year while I was there on December 8th, it was cold and rainy, but the lights were even brighter and more spectacular because of it!  I made a film of it and hope to post it on YouTube one of these days.  Everyone should see NYC this time of year, in my opinion, at least once in their lives.   :)

It's funny that both of these clips look like they could be outtakes or bloopers, but no one else is laughing, like you would expect--and I somehow don't think that Jim would come up with the "Macarena" dance on his own. Which makes it even funnier...

I love the way he gets all self-conscious, then mutters "macarena" as he sits down. So funny!

I thought the same thing, that it was BTS or something. No one reacted to him in the other clip that Vonmar (?) posted. Maybe that was the point? Maybe it was some kind of acting exercise. See how stoic you can remain in the face of Jim's comedy. [emoji1]
