vonmar
My guess would be he was nervous cause he's a bit of a perfectionist. Unlike tapings, this was a one shot deal with no editing, hence more pressure on himself not to screw up. Any chance that this reading was also a "test" for a summer run of Merton at The Roundabout? Cabaret ends it's run on March 29th. Jim would be free from TBBT in late April. That might explain the nerves. Or does the timing not work? stardustmelody
I wondered if it was a test for a future production (whether it be Merton or another play for Roundabout) as well. And the timing works perfect.

There's no reason for him to be nervous about this being a "test" run. I'm going with CB's explanation. I haven't done a staged reading in a long time and the last time I did it we had a month to rehearse. I wondered if it was a test for a future production (whether it be Merton or another play for Roundabout) as well. And the timing works perfect. This is why I'm thinking TBBT won't go past 10 seasons. Jim loves doing theatre and movies and Kaley loves competiive jumping.

mamallama
The most gorgeous man I have ever seen. Ladies, there was forearm all night. I was about 50 ft from the stage, orchestra center and Jim was right in front of me most of the night. Even when he was seated I could see him directly. Todd was behind me to the right. I didn't notice him until intermission and he was talking to another man. The bald, red-headed man was there, from The Met picture, with a woman. There was no way to get any picture of him during intermission and it was too dark during the show and I was totally focused on Jim. I have to say, I've always thought Todd was "cute" in his pictures, but in person he is really good looking. When the show ended he ran off and I got stuck behind a group of slow people. I was laughing all night, because they kept using the word hokum. Just like our Sheldon uses. Jim was so good, his facial expressions and his interaction with Jane Krakowski was perfect. At one point, John Cullum, who plays Jane's character's father, dropped a piece of his script and a few minutes later he went to look for his line and couldn't find the paper, one of the actors who was sitting ran up and picked up the paper and handed it to him, the entire cast and audience just stopped and cracked up. I didn't stay after to get my program signed. I'm kinda kicking myself for not, I felt stalkerish, but damn! Oh, to have caught a whiff! Ask any questions and I'll try to answer. The show went about two hrs and 15 mins including intermission. Not long enough. Now we just have to tide ourselves over to the next taping report in a week. Don't take this the wrong way, but I love you! lol I got WiFi for the doghouse. But it's. Ccccccccold out here. Thank goodness for this thread to keep me toasty. SaH, any time. Hope you can at least get one that's nicely furnished, but wifi is key. Love you, too. And don't take that the wrong way, either.
boys3allc
Oh man. You should describe what he smelled like. Kidding not kidding. In my imagination he is like that movie Micheal and he smells like whatever you like the most. in my case he would smell like my favorite candle a cross between sandalwood and cinnamon. Cassalia
Ahaha I am so glad I wasn't the only one to get excited about what he smelled like. The only way I would describe it would be fresh pine. Kinda earthy (not in the way of Sheldon's uncle though haha!) The show was incredible, I feel so lucky to have seen it. Major kudos to the other cast members as well, especially Jane Krakowski. There were a couple times where either she or someone else messed up or forgot a line, and she just went with it and cracked the funniest jokes. She was fabulous! Oh yeah and Jim's pants WERE tight. I was sitting all the way up in the balcony, but there was no way I missed that. Oh and lastly, he wore a cowboy outfit at one point. Mmmmmm..... For some reason I always kind of thought he would smell like trees / woodsy. Mmmm. Thanks for that confirmation. And that cowboy outfit would probably have been my undoing... Jamie
Yeah, pants were very tight. I used a binocular all the time.. I could literally see where his underwear ended The white shirt he was wearing to those pants were also tight and showed his forearms before he put on a jacket (first dark blue, then beige/white plaid)or was in a cowboy costume. It was a lovely sight when he prayed to God, showing off those guns. It seemed like he almost knew all of his lines, he did not mess up once. His co workers did it twice though, first time Jim broke character and grinned, second time he stayed in character. When sitting in the background he stroked his legs a lot, like he does during CC panel. And sometimes when turning page in the script he licked his fingers first. Every time before touching one of the other actors (handshake etc) he stroke his hand on his legs first. He had marked his lines in the script with yellow pen At one point he was taking off his jacket in the background but got stuck with his arm so lady beside him helped. I did not see the kiss in the end coming. But it was sweet and tender. Reminded a lot about the beginning of Sik 1. The way he stands. My favorite scene though was his "bad acting" when he went down to the audience to pick up a book. Absolutely hilarious! And someone in the audience down there screamed "Jim!" when he was about to go down. I can't believe how lucky I am to actually seen this. It was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. And yes I got to meet him after I got his autograph. He was so sweet. Everyone who was waiting got his autograph!

The pants were so tight you did not need binoculars to see that he was definitely wearing underwear and they were tighty whitie type and not boxers. I'm still high from seeing him in person. There are some people that are kind of disappointing in real life after you go gaga over them in tv or film, but Jim does not fall into that category. Absolutely perfection. And so incredibly talented. I'll be there any time he's on Broadway again. Ty. Kissing jim. Im so jealous. Mayim now Jane. Ugh. OMG, I'm right with you on that. I've never been to Broadway, or even to NYC, as I'm young / not particularly close / generally short on funds, but I'm pretty determined that the next time Jim's doing a play I'm going to find a way to be there. Especially since after discovering this forum, I'll probably see people I know there. :D
