phantagrae Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) I'm very happy for Jim! I would like if the whole cast could win.. happy birthday SaH! Yes, I would love for the cast to finally win the ensemble award. I do think that MF is great as an ensemble, but so is TBBT, IMO. I meant to ask--how do the SAG voters choose? Do they look at the body of work on their own (and would that be last season or what?) or are episodes submitted for consideration or what? From the SAG web site Voting Voting for the Screen Actors Guild Awards® is done in two stages. The first, nominations balloting, is voted on by two nominating committees. These nominating committees are selected at random by computer each year. The second stage of voting, the final balloting, begins once the nominations are announced. Final Balloting Nominations for the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be announced on December 10th. Final ballot information will be mailed to all eligible members on December 16th. In order to be eligible to vote and receive any 'for your consideration' (FYC) materials, members must pay their Nov. 2014 dues by December 1st. Unlike the Emmy's which is based on the actor's work during a traditional television season, SAG and Golden Globes are based on calendar year performances. That's what I was wondering, since they're done in January. It wouldn't make sense otherwise. So the nominees do submit FYC materials--do they do that before the nominations or only after they've been nominated? I wonder what Jim will submit. He's usually pretty good in choosing Emmy submissions, but he hasn't yet won a SAG award. I imagine fellow actors have a different feel for what they choose. Maddie Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 It would be really cool if he won. He'd have one of each award then, wouldn't he? For television, that is.

From the SAG web site: http://www.sagawards.org/submissions They submit pre-nomination. Who Can Submit With the actor’s permission, producers, studios/networks, agents, managers, or publicists may submit performances for consideration in the category designated by the actor. Actors may of course submit their own performances. How to Submit Submissions are once again 100% paperless. We are proud recipients of the Environmental Media Association Green Seal Award for Sustainable Practices five years running. In order to continue our commitment to the environment, we are accepting submissions only online. Be sure that all spelling, contact information company/distribution information is correct. Please also confirm the awards category in which you are submitting. Information listed on your submission will be used by the SAG Awards for balloting and nominations. Submissions will be accepted through Thursday, October 23rd, 5pm PT. Nominations will be announced Wednesday, December 10th. See our complete SAG Awards calendar. phantagrae Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Thanks, vonmar. Maddie, if he won a SAG, he would, I believe, have all of the real TV awards (not counting random things like "People's Choice", which is just a popularity contest). Golden Globe x 1 Emmy x 4 and then a SAG Now he just needs a Tony and an Oscar someday... It would be nice if he won another GG, just for kicks. He could make an awards shelf out of that surfboard he won--was that the Teen Choice or something?

vonmar Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 From Variety: http://variety.com/2014/film/news/larry-kramer-breaks-silence-about-normal-heart-sequel-1201376397/ "Larry Kramer Breaks Silence About Normal Heart Sequel" How far along are you? I would say I’m about two-thirds of the way through the first pass. It starts around the end of “The Normal Heart” in 1984. And it goes not the appearance of the first drugs around 2001. Mark Ruffalo, who we hope will repeat his performance, will have to play Ned at a few times in his life: at the time of “The Normal Heart;” in the middle where he gets sick; and today. Is Ned still the main character? He still is. The part of Tommy, which I hope will be played again by Jim Parsons, is much bigger. He becomes a more important character in the sequel, as he was in my real life.
