A girl tweeted that she met him at the chicago airport on the morning. I didn't post it here cause I wasn't sure if it was true, since she sadly didn't have any pictures. But now that he posted photos telling us he's been on a plane I think we can assume it was.

Yes, presumably. It was such a short trip. It was almost noon ( PST) when tweet came up about him being sighted. I asked, but presumably he was also alone, cause girl said he acted reserved and like he didn't want anyone to see him.

Bored tonight so I've been going through some old interviews (especially enjoying old Jim and Craig Ferguson highlights)

Came across this delightful interview from May 2010 with Jim and Michael Ausiello (when Michael still worked for Entertainment Weekly)  I love interviews with Jim and Michael.  They talk about the end of Season 3 and the flashback episode (The Staircase Implementation) and the Sheldon meets Amy episode (The Lunar Excitation).  In light of the characters development, this seems like a million years ago...

"In what is fast becoming one of my favorite annual traditions here at Entertainment Weekly, Jim Parsons dropped by our offices last week to shoot the poop on all things Big Bang Theory. In addition to previewing next week’s eventful flashback episode (exclusive clips included!), the Emmy shoo-in revealed the real story behind Sheldon’s season-ending “romance” with Blossom (a.k.a. Mayim Bialik), and opened up about the joys of working with a cast that is clean, sober, and so not insane."

As an aside.. Sadly, Michael Ausiello's husband, Kit Cowan is in his final stages of his battle with a rare and aggressive Neuroendocrine cancer.

Michael's tribute to Kit's passion and courage can be found here:  http://tvline.com/2014/12/04/michael-ausiello-husband-kit-cowan/

A while back someone posted about Jim reprising Jimmy Stewart's roll in "It's A Wonderful Life." Watching the movie now, I can totally see Jim in the roll. Maybe it's their physical resemblance to each other, but I would love to see a remake. Especially in this age of 3D, CGI apocalyptic flics.

It's cute when he called her 'sweet Blossom'.

I am going to throw a Chicago reason guess out there: "Airline Highway" Premiere at Steppenwolf Theatre. Directed by Joe Mantello. I could be TOTALLY wrong, but had a hunch.

When was it? :) I talked some more to the girl who saw him and according to her he was waiting by the gate to board an LA flight at 2.30 pm, local time. Casually but nice dressed with a satchel over his shoulder.

Still uncertain when he arrived to Chicago, could be on Friday or early Saturday. But since he used the word "weekend" in his caption, he probably arrived during friday and spent the night.

Variety's review of Elf:  http://variety.com/2014/tv/reviews/tv-review-elf-buddys-musical-christmas-1201376770/

"TV Review: Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas

Using stop-motion animation to cleverly create the feel of a holiday-special throwback, “Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas” — derived from the Will Ferrell movie and subsequent musical — turns out to be a whole lot of fun, proving yet again it’s hard to go wrong casting Jim Parsons in pretty much anything. Retelling the movie’s story with an assortment of songs from the musical, the one-hour special straddles that line between holiday cheer and irreverence, buoyed in part by a giddy, goofy look that nicely dovetails with Parsons’ take on the title character.

ooops not the premiere - that was the weekend of the 6th.

It was reviewed and more publicized this last weekend.

I still will stand by it.   :)  Just for fun.

No, you were right the first time.  It was in previews from December 4th until December 13th.  It premiered on Sunday, December 14th

From Broadwayworld.com: http://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Review-Roundup-Broadway-Bound-AIRLINE-HIGHWAY-20141215

Airline Highway opened last night, December 14, 2014 and runs through February 8, 2015 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St).

I think you guessed right, his IG photo's from his flight sure could be a direct hint considering the title of the play!
