The lightning and his clothes made his eyes look violet! ♥.♥

I'm a little anxious for tonight (even, though I can't watch it), maybe it will be TT on Twitter like Peter Pan's musical was last time... I just want ppl to see another side of Jim as an actor, and realize there's more to Jim than Sheldon. I know a lot of fans of the movie feel quite wary with jim's role, but I think he will surprise- for good- more than a few disbelievers.

Jim and Todd just upgraded their Gramercy park digs:  http://therealdeal.com/blog/2014/12/16/big-bang-theorys-jim-parsons-buys-gramercy-park-penthouse-for-2-8m/

Jim Parsons buys Gramercy Park penthouse for $2.8M

Jim Parsons, the actor best known as Sheldon Cooper from “the Big Bang Theory” has bought a $2.8 million penthouse at 36 Gramercy Park East, according to property records filed with the city today. Parsons bought the unit together with his boyfriend Todd Spiewak. They also closed on a unit for $815,000, according to city records.

Nestseekers International is the exclusive marketing and sales agent on the property. The pair bought a two-bedroom unit on the 12th floor of  the building for 1.8 million in 2011 at a heavy discount. A year later, they bought another apartment on same floor for $2.8 million. In total, Parsons and Spiewak own four units in the building.

So, do they use the other units for friends and family or do they bounce around from apartment to apartment, depending on their mood? :p

Didn't someone say that they weren't allowed to turn the two previous apartments into one big unit?  I'm just curious how that works.  I think he said on some talk show recently that he was "upgrading" his NYC digs, which meant buying the new units.

So will they eventually sell the previous two units?

Star said that awhile ago  I don't know if that is still the case or if they'd make an exception in order to keep him from selling and moving?

What's a sponsor unit?  The article mentioned they purchased a 665 sq ft sponsor unit.  I would hope that's either a studio or 1 bed.  That's small, although for Manhattan, it's a generous size for the average person.  I think that's about the size of my daughter's 2 bedroom apt.  I wonder if he's trying to buy up the entire 12th floor and working on having the board allow him to combine them into something larger.  Like Kerry mentioned, he did say on Dan Patrick that they were working on upgrading.  Gramercy is a beautiful area and the park is so nice, when they let us plebes in on the one day in May they open it to the public.

I think his eyes actually are a shade of violet. Or at least they look that way a lot! I am supporting his being in just about anything at this point because I want to see him get some good exposure beyond TBBT.

I never heard the term "sponsor unit" before, but found this article which give a pretty good explanation:

http://www.brickunderground.com/blog/2012/09/everything_you_wanted_to_know_about_sponsor_apartments_but_were_afraid_to_ask

A sponsor apartment is a unit owned by the original owner or corporation responsible for turning a building from a rental into a co-op.

Many rental apartment buildings in New York City were converted to co-ops in the 1980s. At the time of conversion, existing tenants (renters) had the option to purchase their unit or continue renting.

Since then, as those dwellers have moved on, their apartments have often been listed on the market by the building’s original sponsors, who still own the apartments.

Mark Hamill talks little about Jim http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/12/16/mark-hamill-gets-to-be-the-bad-dad-in-elf-buddys-musical-christmas/

“I’m sort of the Scrooge of the story, who has a big change of heart,” Hamill tells EW. “I thought Jim Parsons did such a great job, he’s so lovable in that part. You had to get somebody who could portray that kind of clueless innocence and without the right Buddy the whole thing falls apart. Luckily for us we had a great Buddy.”

Thanks for the definition, makes sense, and probably a ton of money for the original owner.

I love that he invests in real estate.  Wonder if he and Todd will be there over the hiatus, I'll be in NYC over New Year's, and I'm always down in that area.

I don't know if Todd goes with him, but Jim does go to Houston for Christmas.  I was wondering if Todd goes with him and then they go see Todd's family, or what.  When Jim has talked about it in the past he hadn't mentioned Todd, but that was before he was as open as he is now.

I know Jim likes to see his little nephews over Christmas, but they have plenty of time to go to Houston and NYC and wherever Todd's family is from (is his family somewhere in NY or what--I forget.)

Wasn't he in NYC last New Year?  I remember people wondering if he went down and did the whole street party thing or what.

Jim wanted to see Elf with is nephews and sister? Maybe he is in Houston now. I think that Jim and Todd are thogether always haha. Will Jim take a selfie today seeing Elf?

(Sorry for my english)

Jim's in LA today. Tonight is a TBBT taping night. If he goes home for the holiday, maybe his sister will DVR it and wait for Jim to be home so they can all watch it together.

Todd's family is from the Philadelphia area. I think he has a brother that lives in NYC - the one in The Met dining picture and also at Merton.

I'm wondering if he wants to move back to NYC after BBT ends. He seems to like NYC a lot and he is so into theater.

I think he'll keep all his options open.  I do wonder if he'll want to take a break from series TV for a while, do some theater, maybe some movies, depending on what is offered to him.
