I so want to go!

I'm actually seriously thinking about going to a TBBT taping--one of the March ones--and now this thing has become a bug in my ear...

I think that if I am careful, I can have a lot of the money set aside.  And I kind of need to get a credit card anyway, for other reasons, and that would give me some buffer besides my cash.

Hmmm

So, if the last TBBT taping is 4/21, I wonder if he's already got his script for Act of God.  Or maybe he'll get it soon.  But I guess he's got some rehearsal time between about 4/22 and when it opens on 5/28 (corrected after reading more on Broadway.com).

So is the 5/5 date when previews start or is that when they start rehearsals?

And I bet he's happy to be working with Joe Mantello again. :)

ETA: I'm wondering how irreverent or possibly disrespectful it might be....

well Phanta if you are gonna do one or the other I HIGHLY recommend going to the BBT taping.  It was such a great experience...

BUT I also would suggest doing both and you can make a trip to NYC!!  I saw Jim in Harvey and died.  I still remember that experience.  So this is fantastic!!!

If it doesn't open until the 28th, I should be somewhat free to go--no University teaching, no symphony performances.  Just $$ and time off of work.  If I could do a down-and-dirty trip out and back, it could work.  It's really just the $$. :(

I hope not to disrespectful. (Baptist coming out). But I plan on figuring a way to go.

So its just 90 minutes of talking about god???

I'm wondering if it's primarily almost a one-man show.  They mention casting a couple of angels and I think one other character, but the format of the book suggests that it would be "God" talking about various things.  I don't know if the other characters as him questions or what the deal is.

One of the reasons I was surprised to him playing this role is that I also took it to be kind of a one-man show and I've always heard Jim praising on how wonderful it is to be part of an ensemble and working on something together as a group. I think he even listed it as one of the reasons he enjoys theatre so much.

I'm more excited by the fact that Montello and Jim are going to work together than by the play he's going to do. I mean, i like this type of sense of humor, but i understand it's not for everybody. I wonder if this will cause some rejection from some religious entities. i have zero idea of the religious idiosyncrasy of other societies asides of mine, so my question comes out of pure ignorance. We'll see...

ps: soooooooo happy Jim's going to do theater again! i hope is a full success for our Jimmy ♥♥

Apparently the tickets will go on sale mid-February.  According to Playbill.

I adore Jim but that's something I wouldn't have any interest in but I hope y'all have a great time if you go and that Jim does well in

Did it say how long its running for?

It says it's a limited run, but they don't yet have an end-date for it.

I wonder if a lot of the appeal of the project for him is working with Joe Mantello again.

I was surprised he went to see Sting's musical, The Last Ship, until I remembered that JM was the director, which is, I'm sure, the primary reason Jim went to see it.

So maybe that was his primary motivation for doing it.  Dunno.
