OH MY GOD!!!!!

That poem he read is the one I WROTE for his 40th birthday!!!

OMG OMG OMG!!

They didn't mention the name of the writer, but it's mine!!!

It's probably posted in this thread if you can go back and look from a year ago or something. It's on my harddrive. I first wrote it for his birthday and attached it to a picture of him that was supposed to be included in some video thing someone was sending him or posting somewhere for his birthday, but I don't know if it ever got attached because I didn't see it in the final version.

So, when I made that mug for him this summer and mailed it, I included a copy of that poem again--so I'm assuming he never saw it.

When you all started talking about the "your thighs are strong" stuff I thought it sounded like that line from my poem and I was wondering if it went with "your legs are long", which was what I wrote.

So I finally looked up the FB page and heard him read it--OH MY GOD!!!!!

Girl I know you are about to fell the hell out

I wouldn't tell the warm-up guy (Mark Sweet?) and I wouldn't read it aloud or anything like that.

Like I said, I'm a little jazzed that he actually saw my poem, but I'm also a little mortified that he read it out loud to whoever listens the The Hits...

My sister asked my why I would have sent it to him in the first place if it was embarassing, and I told her that it's one thing to send him something like that where he'll never see my face.  So if he finds it amusing or embarassing or weird, well, I won't ever know.

But I also want to make sure that no one else is taking credit for it, silly and gushy, mushy as it may be.  I wrote that silly thing. :p

And I'm sure that if I ever spoke to Jim and he found out I'd written it (if he even remembers after all the whirlwind of press he's done since then), he would be nothing but kind, as he is to all his fans, no matter what he really thought about it.

But I ain't gonna march up there and make a declaration or anything.

Ok, and it is still cool he read it, and like you said, I would personally would be mortified if any of them read some of the stuff I wrote, but you want the credit, so we're different.  But happy to hear that none of this will come up at the taping.  You are going to LOVE IT!!

I think you´re right. It would be too embarrassing to read it there.

But what about singing Happy Birthday? Hm, Jim always leaves the stage quickly when the last scene is done (I heard). So I don´t know if that would make sense.

I'm probably just going to go with the flow.  If Mark Sweet has the audience sing to him or something like that, I would certainly join in, but I don't think I'd be volunteering to do it on my own.

I want to go and soak it all in and remember every detail I can remember about the whole thing, and about Jim in particular.

I don't know if I'll ever have another chance to go to a taping, and I'm spending what is a lot of money, for me, on this trip, so I want this to be special and fun.

Finding out about the poem today is just making this whole excursion even more surreal!

I do have a question about Home--if they have the LA premiere on Sunday, does that mean it will be in theaters there beginning the 22nd, or is it just a one time showing for the premiere until it opens wide on the 27th?

I was thinking that if it's showing while I'm there, I wouldn't mind going to a late showing on Monday night. :)

Jim is a famous actor, people adore him and it's absolutely normal that the journalists also ask questions on his private life at time, he know that, he has said that these questions don't bother him at all, marriage and kids are not "unmentionable matters" , it's normal at times he can also speak about it, I really don't understand why some fans seem to get annoyed so much about this.......

I'm a journalist (photojournalist and features) and I thought those questions were out of line. When the person we are interviewing says answering that are clipped and succinct, you drop the subject and move on to a new one. Clearly the marriage and kids topic was uncomfortable based on his quick responses, so that journalist should have dropped it instead of going on and on.

Secondly, he was trying to worm answers out of Jim that weren't true, violating our most important principle: revealing the truth and informing people about it. Yes I know that publication is yellow journalism and those questions are to be expected but NEVER are you allowed to ask a leading question such as those that he did ask Jim.

So The Hollywood Reported did a story on the Night at Sardi's event last night, who was there, who performed etc.

What caught my eye was a paragraph about TBBT cast's pesentation.

"The Big Bang Theory cast introduced TV director James Burrows who Jim Parsons described as “a man who’s done more pilots than a hooker at LAX.” Burrows’ sister Laurie Grad has co-chaired the annual dinner for 23 years in honor of their father, Tony and Pulitzer-winning playwright and director Abe Burrows who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s."

(I spit wine all over my keyboard :) )

Love it!  Even worn out and jet-lagged, the boy's still got it! :p

ETA: Heidi (FoxPhile) on the other forum found where I originally posted my poem.  It was back in November of 2012!

ok people I give up!..  that interview was disgusting and Jim will have been upset about it, I wonder why his publicist is always with him if she doesn't know how to do her job.. it's a shame.

Phanta I am happy for you!!!  You love Jim so much and I'm sure that it will be a fantastic day!!! The poem is amazing..

My friends on the other forum posted the direct YT link to Jim reading the poem. It's fascinating to watch. I really do wonder what was going through his mind. I wonder what kind of crazy stuff he gets from fans, or if his "people" shield him from the crazier stuff (like this...)

I would love to see Jim play the riddler and then have Sheldon mention in passing that he isn't on board with what ever "hack" they got to play him

Agreed! I am also waiting for Jim's appearance on Ellen to see if she gets him to play Never Have I Ever. I would love to see him play that game!

No I want to see him play "Heads Up" since Sheldon and Amy played it in an episode..."It's Me!"

:)

Didn't he play "Never Have I Ever" during one of the UK press appearances with Rhianna?

I thought someone was going to post a link to it at some point?

It was with buzzfeedceleb and no, not out yet.

I'm new to here, hello everyone. Just popped by to ask if anyone watched Jim on Blue Peter today. I've recorded his segment and if possible I'll upload it for others to see. :-)

Welcome SL and that would be wonderful.   Welcome to the group!   :bye:

Phanta, I talked to Darryl on The Hits. He says "bless you" and want to get in touch with you.

Let me know what contact details to give him and I'll pass it forward.

Jamie,

I got an email from Darryl this morning and he wants to call me to talk about the poem and Jim.  I'm hoping we can find a time that works over the weekend or Monday morning at the lastest, so I can do it before I fly out to LA.

I can never remember the time difference between here and the UK, so I hope it works out.

The crazy saga continues...

Thanks for being a bit of a go-between! :)
