rachelshamyfan Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 doesnt sound like Jim at all but if hes wating to do a scene he would need quiet to concentrate i guess!?
silverangel Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) Just saw this posted on twitter...apparently in Star Magazine (which explains a lot!)! But it gave me a bit of a giggle because it doesn't seem like Jim at all! I'm sorry for my language but this is bulshit. I don't believe in this. Maybe this could say someone who does not like Jim. Look at this short films on you tube. He most of the times goes to the fan's to sign autographs. And how about this picture Some girl's mother has a cancer, and she was on the chemiotheraphy and the only thing that makes her smile was The Big Bang Theory, and Jim found out obout it somehaw and post this picture. Is that behaves someone who act like diva? Anyone can have a bad day. Maybe he needs to focus before playing episode, before any role. If on that day he did not behaved as if these people want to does not mean that he is such a diva like this article. I do not believe that everyone else from the cast is talking about him only positive things were talking lies. Even if it is a PR you can know if someone is lying, says what someone tells him, and when he speaks the truth. This is the first mean thing about him I've ever read.Maybe because I avoid things like that. The web is a full of rubbish. For example, Jim's false account on facebook .. etc I think that Moniqe and other people who were on taping may say something more. If someone does not like Jim's, his choice, but I do not believe in this. Is Mayim would've liked someone who behaves like that, and yet they're really like. each other. We may smile mockingly of such people, but this is so hurtfull for so sweet person like Jim, what kind of people talk such nonsense. I am not surprised that he did not have an account on facebook or tweeter, if he can read that stuff about himself. Someone might complain that I'm not objective, but the evidence speaks for itself. phantagrae Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I can't see this item while here at work, but from the comments here, it reminds me of an account about David Duchovny. He did a play in New York some time ago and he was VERY nice and accomodating in signing autographs and posing with fans for pictures EVERY night after the play and sometimes in the afternoon before the show, etc. But on a few occasions, he had family members in attendance, and when he was with his family members he didn't want to make them wait or didn't want to be approached while he was with them. Most of his fans understood this and let him be, but some idiot approached him while he was walking with friends or family on one occasion and I think he turned down their request for him to stop and pose for photos or whatever. So that idiot person went on twitter and ragged on him, like he was some kind of snob or diva. There were so many other accounts of him taking so much time and being so kind and approachable, that it was obvious that this one occasion was the exception--and really only because they rudely approached him when he was with family. I have no doubt that there are times that Jim doesn't want to be disturbed--he does seem to take his preparation very seriously--but otherwise he seems to be very kind and accomodating and grateful toward his fans. shamylove Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I agree, that seems like some rubbish. I remember watching a bts video and Jim walked around rehearsing his lines by himself on set, taking ample time preparing and doing his thing. He is a professional and passionate about his work. Also, from many of the taping reports, I've noticed that a couple of the cast members always chat with the audience, while the others do on occasion. They are there to work and I don't fault any of them one bit if they take their job seriously. It doesn't make me question anyone's appreciation of the fans or gratitude. One just needs to see any of the castmates offscreen, in an interview, signing autographs, etc, to see how truly humble and amazing they are. Jim is also a pretty private person. As much as I'd love to have him on FB or Twitter, I can see why he would choose not to do so and am happy he isn't seeing any of this nonsense. silverangel Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) quote: As much as I'd love to have him on FB or Twitter, I can see why he would choose not to do so and am happy he isn't seeing any of this nonsense. I wrote the same thing on my post LOL. I heard in an interview with him, like on the question about the facebook, you tube, and tweeter he replied that he does not keep track because he fears, that he will read too many negative reviews about himself. So imagine that guy that we think he supposed to be self-confident, and so many times and has been awarded and has so many fans is afraid to look to the internet not to read negative comments. Everyone could feel so hurt and upset about something like that, so he really is a humble and wonderful man with a passion for acting and professional. Who really appreciates everything he has get from life in many interviews, that confirms that he loves what he does and it really isn't work this is his passion, and appreciates the adoration of fans but I think that he is overwhelmed by all this. He isn't the type of actor like: I'm beautiful and talented and better than you, so that you should rejoice that you have me. That I kindly pay my attention on you. His attitude is more so: I appreciate your admiration and I'm glad that you like and want to see me, on the stage, on the screen, but I'm intimidated, and I am only simple human like you and I just love my job but it's just a job. In some interview someone asked him in which the famous places in Hollywood he can be found, and even name the place where you can definitely find paprazzi, and he said that you can't meet him such places. shamylove Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Thanks for posting the vid. I've seen it, even posted it to my tumblr. I'll admit I watched it more than once. How could you not with his adorableness? Other random thought; Does anyone think Jim's humility and gratitude has anything to do with his having to work "real" jobs as he was working and waiting for his big break? I know he worked at Whole Foods, at a convenience store as a bank teller, and in an office. I think he may be the only cast member who had to do this. Although, Melissa may have as well. It just seems to me that it breeds some extra gratitude and appreciation. Interesting thought considering my other fave of the show is Mayim Bialik who, as far as I know, never had to work any 9-5 job or punch a clock. She's very humble as well. It seems with Jim that he appreciates it in a different way. Not better or worse, just different.
Kati390 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I love Jim Parsons! He is such a brilliant actor! I couldnt imagine anyone else playing Sheldon, and he seems like such a kind, sweet man! )))))
Pomita Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 That nasty snippet about him really twisted the facts. It's true (from many taping accounts) that Jim stays very serious and focused during the tapings, and concentrates totally on learning and rehearsing his dialogues, while some of the others interact more with the audience. That's because his dialogues are damn tough and he needs to be totally into it, more than the other cast members. How someone can interpret that commitment as personal snobbishness is beyond me. He's gone on record to say that he loves performing in front of the live audience but he needs to stay focused, so he can't communicate much at that time. Obviously this was posted by someone who has a dislike for him for some reason. I think it's almost universally known and acclaimed that Jim is an extremely nice, humble and down-to-earth person. Every castmate and colleague, every journalist and every fan who's ever interacted with him says so. One spiteful comment won't change that impression for anyone. I agree that Jim's grounded nature may be partly due to his humble background and his years of struggle. But I believe it's also his inherent character. For someone who has the tendency of getting a blown-up ego, it happens with a little bit of fame regardless of the person's background. silverangel Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) You're right.I think it's just his character. First of all it relates to his passion for acting. I think Mayim also has a passion for acting or to whatever she does besides acting. You can be someone famous and be humble and wonderful person and you can be one of the millions of ordinary people and have a passion for your profession, and that makes you someone unusual, wonderfull. And I think Jim and Mayim are big proof for that, no matter whether we are famous or not, If we have something in life that gives us joy and and passion, and because of that we do it the best we can and that inter alia makes us extraordinary and wonderful. Fame and all that it brings is just bonus, for they are grateful when they see adoration of fans and that people want to see on the screen and stage, and hate it when they can not live a normal life because paparazzi is lurking from every corner and can destroy their lives, or at least make it difficult. They all seem like nice people and none of them seems like any kind of diva. I love that Danette video--JP's really cute, I love the way he says "y'all" a couple of times, and I love the way a little tuft of hair is sticking up on the back of his head because of the headset he's wearing. I would love to know what he was tweeting about. There's a little more footage out there from that appearance, more behind-the-scenes stuff, where he's doing photo-booth pictures, etc.

The God Particle Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Just saw this posted on twitter...apparently in Star Magazine (which explains a lot!)! But it gave me a bit of a giggle because it doesn't seem like Jim at all! What a Complete & Utter ASShat! Sorry, but if this audience member was a truly "devoted fan" then they would already know that Jim spends his time pacing around the set exactly like he does at home so he can get the rhythm of Sheldon's intricate lines correct. This is part of his Process on how he keeps up with Sheldon's unusual language and lengthy scientific spiels. We all know this. As fans; as fanatics, if you will we have memorized, discussed and picked apart any and all of his interviews to learn his unique way of doing things. As Any TRUE FAN Does! My favourite bit: "... Doesn't want to be spoken to unless it's absolutely necessary." Of COURSE! When Jim is concentrating on acting he is not thinking about having some meaningless discussion with some idiot who doesn't even bother to learn why he isn't speaking to everybody and their second-cousin-twice-removed about the weather in DC and the Cherry Blossoms in Spring! Apparently Jim is far too nice; so now the tabloids have to make shite up about his "diva" personality!

Lissie Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 He does have a bit of a lisp--like he puts his tongue right up behind his teeth when he says his "s" sounds--like Bazinga, for instance. It's really noticable in the Electric Can-Opener when they're in the cafeteria and he says he's sitting alone because he is without "friends". I don't know about is "L", though--can you give me an example? I noticed that in Isolation Permutation, when Amy calls from the liquor store, it almost sounds like he's saying "Aye-my", like he really widens out the A in her name--a little Texan-y. Wow, only now I am reading this. It is very interesting what you are explaining. I just noticed so many time he has a little bit special way of saying the words. Really lovely. Now I am learning this is Texan style!

Lissie Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Hey phantagrae I have something for you. This is my poem about Jim, but please be gentle because it's hard to translate poetry on english, and convey well meaning. Ode to your eyes I’m a slave of your eyes. These eyes have enchained my soul and have stolen my heart. The most innocent beauty wich fettered my dreams. Heaven is rejoicing of their azure, and the moon is hiding behind the clouds because of the envy, when your look is brightening up darkness of night. Your eyes put a spell on me, and when its blue light touch me your eyelashes will catch me in an amorous embrace, and every part of me will become an oath of passionate feelings . silverangelD. Lissie Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Okay, because you asked... Ode to a Pea Oh, Jimmy Joe I'd like to know, May I caress your roundy head? I think I'd probably drop dead If you would give me leave I love your teeth Your ears, your fingers Upon your eyes I must needs linger You roll your tongue My head has sprung A leak... The back of your neck... Oh, what the heck! I want to touch your body! Would you think of me as naughty If I were to violate your personal space and get up close and... Sorry... Your thighs are strong Your legs are long I love your knobby, gangly knees. You cannot know how I'd be pleased If I could just get closer Oh, Slimmy Jimmy Oh, Mr. Pea Your whole package pleases me... So to speak... ~phanta Fantastic

I love the way he uses his accent in The Thespian Catalyst, when he's doing the little scene with Penny, but even before he does that I think Jim's accent seeped in a little while Sheldon was explaining the play. He says something to Penny about the character of Sheldon's mother, "the part played bah yew"--it's so funny! I've watched this episode a million times and only recently caught that little Texanism.
