will there be a taping report with photos?????   :)

( for those who have no chance to ever see it )

There won't be photos allowed during the play, I'm sure, though there may be some stills taken for promotional purposes or whatever.

I hope there are some photos taken at the stage door, though! :)

Mamallama looks like you are first.  I am glad you were not going on those first two preview dates that were cancelled.

I am in town on premier night does anyone know if they have a red carpet and is it worth going to celebrity spot?

I don't know if they'll do anything for the preview period, but they might do something special for the actual opening night, the 28th. But I don't think they do a red carpet kind of thing. But I think there could be celebrities attending that first opening.

But one might always catch the actors going or coming from the theater if one's timing is right.

DreamWorks Animation's Earnings were up for 1Q.   See more.    Home  added to the positive earnings, but they expect distribution and marketing costs to be recouped by 2Q.  Jim was given a shout out at the stockholders meeting for all his efforts in promoting the film.  I attended the meeting live and it was lovely hearing them mention him.

DVD releases are expected late summer, no set date yet.  They go by what is releasing in theaters and where there is a good window that families will be looking for entertainment to determine when to release on DVD.   They don't want to compete against big blockbusters that are in theaters that prevent the DVD from getting notice.   Using smart marketing strategy actually.

They did talk about international currency exchange being a big problem right now for all theatrical released products (not just for them, but for anyone in the industry).  That actually impacted overall revenues even though box office sales were at an all time high for them.

So, Jimmy Month has now begun...

Can't wait to see him on the Today Show and Kelly & Michael next Friday!

I wonder if he's also going to hit up GMA and the CBS morning show at some point, or the NYC talk shows.

Hopefully, we'll also see more print media articles and reviews soon.

Jimmy!Palooza is here!

See the tribute shown for Jim's award at USD.

Thanks for sharing.  I saw part of it on IG last night, but the full thing is really great.  I do wish I'd been able to really hear that little clip of his Master's Thesis performance.  I'm intrigued by the idea of being able to go back in time and see some of his early performances.

But that's the ephemeral nature of theater as opposed to TV or movies.  It exists in that moment only.

Very nice piece.

So what is Jim's new play ''An Act of God'' about? I don't understand. Lol.

The writer has done these sort of satirical pieces in the voice of God for some time.  He has a twitter account where he takes on the persona of God, speaking to the people of the world, pointing out things like "That's not what I meant when I said..." and supposedly "clarifying" God's intentions, or whatever.

So, I think a book came out of that and now it's been revised into a play.

In the play, God wants to speak to people, but since God is invisible and all that, he needs to use the body of a human being in order to communicate.  So he chooses the body of Jim Parson, actor, and along with a couple of angels, proceeds to speak to the people.

It's kind of a satirical thing, so I'm sure it could be offensive to some people, but I understand that it's been written to be more funny than offensive, but I think that depends on one's tolerance level and ability to laugh at oneself, etc..

But anyway, it's supposed to be God speaking, trying to clarify what his original intentions were (like with the commandments, etc.) and to explain other things.

@phanta yea i would also loved to have watched more of his thesis performance (or at least find out which play he choose) since I'm planning to get my MFA too. From an acting point of view, i too am fascinated with his earlier work and wish there was more to see. Every performance he does is always to great to watch for inspiration and technique :)  can't wait to see him perform in person and see all that up close haha!
