OMFG guys!   He commented on my IG pic.  I am in hysterics.

Ok, so the premise of the play, as we know, is God wants to set the record straight on certain things and because He is so omnipotent, mere humans couldn't understand or see Him, so He's coming to us

So it was a great experience. I got Jim's autograph and a selfie! Great times. Here's the Majim hug from my vantage point. And when the cast left he kissed and hugged Mayim. Super cute, so glad I

I shouldn't let shit like this bother me, but I can't help it.

That is one selfish person.   I am sorry, but people need to be respectful of whatever small amount of time they can get with a celebrity.   Wowser...I am stunned at the selfishness!   That person needs to re-examine themselves before being so judgmental.

ETA:  She took down that rant and reposted...seems she was not getting comfort from fans but instead the opposite so she reposted more or less telling fans to calm down and then said he's still cute.   Guess she realized she over-reacted to his needing to be rushed along so as many fans as possible were able to get autographs.

Holy shit, that's my program he's signing, I recognize my rings!

I don't know why but when I first saw that photo I immediately thought it might be yours.   So weird that I was right.  My gut just felt like that was you.  LOL!

It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all

It's a small, small world!

Sorry. I found the song appropriate for this comment, plus this song was part of a Disney medley we just played tonight and if I have to have the song stuck in my head, then so do you! ;0)

Aww...Mama...what a wonderful time you had. Thanks for sharing!  So happy you got his attention.   Sounds like an interesting method of presenting things with the angels posing questions from audience.  Kind of fun...ads to the excitement.   Did either of the angels go up to the mezzanine as well?

What was the song like that he sang?   Do you remember any of the words?

Ok, so the premise of the play, as we know, is God wants to set the record straight on certain things and because He is so omnipotent, mere humans couldn't understand or see Him, so He's coming to us using the body of Jim Parsons. He chose Jim because he's talented and funny, and, let's face it, they both have The Big Bang Theory in common. So He's giving us a new set of 10 commandments and explaining each and why. God is dressed in a white robe with gold stitching. Jim has his jeans, a plaid button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up and the neon orange sneakers on.

He touched on everything, homosexuality (it was supposed to be Adam and Steve, but that dang snake ruined it all), don't praise Me if you're an athlete or celeb, I didn't help you win, or lose, anything. One of his angels, Michael, would go out in the audience and say we have questions here. He'd put the microphone in a persons face and ask their name. Then the angel would say, we have Mary from Armonk, NY, and she wants to know xyz. Jim would then try to explain his reasoning. They did this a few times.

But the best was the end when he breaks out into song! A special song written just for the show. Jim ascends the stairs, to presumably get back to heaven when there's a loud boom, a flash of smoke and the robe floating in the air. Then you see Jim stand up from behind the couch where God had been sitting and enlightening us. Jim looks around all like, how'd I get here, what's going on, and the play ends.

I boogied out very fast because I wanted to get in line for his picture and autograph.

Guard told us that Jim would sign for us all but no asking for pics. Jim came out and was signing for everyone. People were all Sheldon, Bazinga, or just thanks. He was so gracious, thanking everyone for coming out. I wanted to say something different that might get his attention, so after I said thank you, I said "The play was so funny, I'm still laughing just thinking about it." He stopped, looked at me and said, "Thank you for that, you're so sweet." I think I was still standing after that. My husband got some not so clear pics of us - he had to take them from across the street. It was fabulous. I can't wait to go again with Kerrycec and SuchaHag on the 30th.

Huge shout out to my husband for putting up with all my Jim mania today and tonight. What a great sport, even though I told him if Jim gives me the nod, I'd be packing my bags and taking off with Jim.

Thanks for this! I've been hoping someone would give us some kind of rundown of the play and what all he does.

Someone apparently too a quick video during the play, at the beginning, I think, because it's God talking about Jim, saying they're both with CAA and how ironic it is that he's in a show called The Big Bang Theory.

I don't know if it was the quality of the video, but Jim's voice sounded hoarse in a couple of spots.

It made me kind of wonder if doing almost all the talking for the whole play will be hard on his voice. I guess he will have some time to rest on the days they don't have a show.

How long was the play? 90 minutes?

ETA: When you said he starts singing, the first song I thought of was an old Irving Berlin song that they use in An American in Paris--"I'll build a stairway to paradise, with a new step every day..." :p

That play is on Broadway right now...doubt they would be able to use that one.  ;)   But it is a good one!

And yes the play is 90 minutes long.  It says how long on all ticket sites.

The angel went to the mezzanine once. The song was an original so I can't remember any of the words. I can't imagine how he spoke for 90 mins straight. His big bang training had to have been a huge boost in learning the fast paced, complicated dialogue.

If he gets good reviews once the play opens for real, it'll be great because he basically carries the whole thing himself.

I would hope he might at least get a Tony nomination. I wonder what his competition will be.

The few media folks that have commented on it thus far are predicting a nod for him when Tony's come around next year.  The only problem is that because it is a limited run, he has to wait nearly a year before the nominations come out and a lot of new plays will open between now and then.   But keep your fingers crossed!   I will say this play is so unique it may stand out and remain in people's minds because it is basically a one-man play.  The angels sound like more in a facilitating role than anything and so he carries the vast majority of the play.   That may help him a lot.

Thank you, Mama for getting back to me on my questions.   I had hoped that at least one of the angels went up to the Mezzanine at least once so those ticket holders can feel a part of the play as well.   Smart move on their part.

I wonder if they will record Jim singing ever.  I hope so and that the put up a YT of it.

Phanta...reviews should be out the night of the Open.  They usually come out very late that same night.  I have already heard back from a few of my contacts and they said they would be releasing reviews that night.

It will be interesting to see if they make any changes between now and the end of May.

Mama, would you say the show could be very offensive to some people?  I know that is a broad question, and I'm sure it's not something 'Mary Cooper' would sit there and watch, but I'm curious about how risque the material got.   It sounds like it is a hilarious show.

Omg, your new avatar is the real deal! :yahoo:

Heehee, I felt like pinning him down in a wrestling flip and just kissing his face all over ala Penny and Amy.

Yes, some of the material will definitely rub a faction of people the wrong way. He touched on homosexuality, abortion, Jesus and other lesser issues. It was all in fun and he didn't say I'm right and if you don't agree, you're wrong. But, if you have some deep religious convictions you may not be very happy. It was all presented in a light hearted fashion and Jim was superb being sassy. There was nothing mean spirited in the play or Jim's delivery at all. The audience was extremely receptive, but I would imagine with all the hype for the play if you're there you probably have a more liberal bent to you anyway.

He IS sassy!   I have no problem with those topics, and I can't imagine Jim doing something that is mean spirited, but it was my concern.   This clears that up for me.  Thank you!   Off to look at airline tickets!

I think a lot depends on when Mayim's trip to Israel is planned and the international trip for BBT that she was talking about doing.    Starting next week she will be on the Southern East Coast for two weeks, so she could possibly fly up to NY to catch his play for a couple of days between her speaking engagements, but who knows if she will do that or not.

What international trip for BBT ??? ever heard about it. Oh please Mayim, pretty please come to Paris !!!!
