phantagrae
There's another pic from this that I saw on IG, where he's leaning on his hand. I can't post or link it from here, but it's adorable, as always. I don't know if it came from the ITAS site or what. Probably not news but I saw Jim in an Intel add. Looks like he has been in a few. Yeah, YT has all of them along with extended clips that are supposed to be "BTS" moments. The one with the clowns is probably the funniest one. Andymajim2
I WOULD LIKE TO know what did Todd talk there?? First of all, acting students were there to learn about acting and life, and how to lead a sucessfull career FROM JIM. I know that students até very Busy, they didn t Leave their homes to go and listen Todd talking silly stuff, and useless things being asked about personal life ....I love the interviews they make because its Always only intelligent questions being asked .If they wanted to listen stupid silly things about wedding,or Todd life, they would not have Gone there, they would better read about that all from stupid gossip megazines.I never swa a boyfriend/wife/husband speak before during an actors studio interview.......its just stupid....even when the partner of the person who was on the interview was someone inportant, they never stopped talking about inteligent stuff,to ask silly and stupid questions for the person....I am sure that everybody there couldn t care less when he speaked about personal silly things wich they weren t there to listen. vonmar
DC Theatre Scene did a review of AAOG...They enjoyed it. But it was their comments about Jim that I found interesting... Act of God review: Jim Parsons as the Almighty rewrites the Ten Commandments This is Jim Parsons’ third foray onto Broadway, after his debut as Tommy Boatwright in The Normal Heart in 2011 (subsequently made into a movie on HBO), the character who holds it together for everybody else, and in Harvey the next year as Elwood P. Dowd, best friends with a six foot tall invisible rabbit. Parsons is personable, amiable, with great comic timing. But there are hints that, like Jack Lemmon before him, there is within him a versatility and complexity as a performer he has only begun to explore. Even in this extended Tweet of a play, there are moments when it seems evident what great, deep potential he has as an actor. “You’re my greatest creation,” God says to the audience in one such moment. “And I’m your worst.” http://dctheatrescene.com/2015/06/05/act-of-god-review-jim-parsons-as-the-almighty-rewrites-the-ten-commandments/ (I love their faces in this picture)
stardustmelody
hi everyone.Im new here Welcome Andymajim2! whaaaaaa? is it possible, Jim could actually be part of it?? O.M.G! Not sure, but we know he has expressed a lot of interest and he is definitely considered an A-lister. So it is very possible he is on their list of possibilities. Even if he couldn't devote enough for a full movie shoot, he might get a part in the mini-series. It is easier to work around HBO projects and HBO loves Jim. What changes here, is that the entertainment business and the critics are beginning to see the actor that's within Jin, not just the guy that plays Sheldon Cooper. That's what's new. Because Jim sure has experience in both drama and comedy, he's not a newbie starting to realize his capabilities. IMO. Wow. First of all, Jim and Todd have a production company together and they are working to produce a series, so Todd is partly in the business. Also, the interview isn't just about the art of acting, but also about insight into the personal life of the actor. Is James Lipton wants to ask questions of Todd, he's the one who makes the decision. It's not as if Todd just jumped up and started volunteering information on his own. Lipton also asked Jim about his dad--is that something Jim shouldn't speak about because it's not about acting? The students do get to ask the guest questions about the profession, but they also get to learn all kinds of things about the guest. It's not just about acting. The interviews are televised for the general public as well, not just for acting students. I don't think Todd was speaking about "silly personal things", but simply answering the questions put to him by the host.

I think it goes back to shaking off Sheldon....the USD tribute clip said it best...Bazinga and Sheldon's spot rest with Sheldon...not Jim Parsons...it can be difficult to separate yourself from an iconic character and I think the are saying that they think that he has the acting chops to walk away from that character and successfully do other things. From my understanding his amount of interaction was minimal, but it was mainly talking about Jim's production company and the new project they have under development. I don't think Todd talked about any personal things, but I could be wrong. I think it was Jim that talked about personal life and answered questions about that. But the host drives the questions, so if you are upset, you should blame the host....not Jim or Todd. They just graciously answered questions. I believe the personal questions were very minimal and limited compared to the entire event, which lasted three hours and students got plenty of their questions answered. I could be wrong, but that was my understanding from what the fans who were present wrote up. You have to remember, their reports were primarily from a fan perspective, not a student in the arts perspective as well. They are interested in Todd more than perhaps students would be, but I am sure none of the students minded hearing about the brief little bit that was covered either. Aww, this is beautiful! well done Jimmy Pea♥ Although, I don't exactly get the article's meaning when saying 'there is within him a versatility and complexity as a performer he has only begun to explore', and his 'potential as an actor'... it must be his potential now, as a well known actor, because Jim has years of versatility in his roles, since he was in Houston. Because Jim sure has experience in both drama and comedy, he's not a newbie starting to realize his capabilities. IMO. I think that Jim is working very hard to show versatility and depth as an actor. He clearly had top of the line training at USD in a very elite program and knows how to deliver more than what he has thus far exposed through his role as Sheldon on TBBT, and even as Tommy Boatwright in The Normal Heart and as Elwood in Harvey. I would even venture to say throw in his two animated roles as well. While those of us who watch him more with critical eye realize Jim has shown depth and versatility, there are many that continually say they only see Sheldon when they watch him. The author in the article was trying to make a point that Jim has far more beneath the surface than his roles have let him bring out and that he is a true talent and there is a lot simmering under the surface ready for a meaty role. Jim clearly has shown depth and versatility on stage but not everyone has been exposed to his broad and deep talent. From that perspective the author is trying to help Jim shed himself of the "Sheldon-only" actor perception. Just like when he gets asked to say Bazinga....the man can say a whole lot more than Bazinga. It must get tiring, even though you appreciate the role you were given, to be thought of as only being able to do or say things associated with that role. So I applaud the reviewer for bringing out that comment. It shows me that others can see that Jim is a lot more than "Sheldon". Andy_90's_generation
i'm really hoping that THAT ONE role for Jim appears, and that others see what we as fans and professionals like Lipton see, once they get to know him... i think he could deliver so many great interpretations, if he has the chance... Todd was put on the spot, and he simply answered the host's questions. The only thing he talked about was their (Jim's and Todd's) production company. xxmimiaxx
yes!! i am so glad they said that in the article...when i first started watching tbbt, i immediately latched onto jim and his acting because it was just so believable and every episode was (and is) executed so incredibly well like i would always think "why have we just found out about this guy now...why has he not been in other well known things?". Not just any actor can win 4 emmys and for doing the same character no less. Like, just really think about the work jim puts into playing a character like sheldon, imagine anyone else trying to play it the way he does or even imagine trying to play that role yourself. Jim is such an incredible actor...gah it just makes me so proud

As someone who was there for the 3.5 hrs of taping, of which about 20 mins tops included Todd, I would request you to back and re-read what Kerrycec03 and I wrote throughout this topic. It was Lipton who brought up the topic of Jim and Todd's relationship, it was Lipton that asked that a microphone be given to Todd to speak, it was Lipton that asked Todd questions. In re-reading our comments you'll also see that Todd was extremely uncomfortable with this, he's not an actor, he's Jim's partner, there to support his man. It was very evident that he would rather not have spoken at all. I think it was pretty pertinent and new news that Todd was the one who was pushing Jim for them to move to LA to advance his acting career. Additionally, head over to the ITAS web site. You'll see previous interview there, the last one of which was Neil Patrick Harris. There's a similar segment they did with Neil's husband, David Birka, where they talked about their marriage and their twins - conceived with a donor egg. These interviews are to give you an in depth look into the actor as a person, as well as how they got their start and hone their craft. All of this influences their lives and what we get to see on tv, film or stage. The students got plenty of time to ask questions. And it was only the students, too. If you're not happy with Todd being included in the interview the answer is simple, DVR it and then fast forward past him.

Each time I don't want to get up and go to the gym, I say to myself "What would Jim be doing right?" and I smile and get excited that we can "exercise together". So weird I know.................... I'm actually wanting to use Jim as my model in that regard. I have just begun thinking about it, so no real change yet, but I've been thinking about he goes to bed early, gets up early, exercises, and all that. These are things I need to incorporate into my life. Now, actually doing it is another issue...
mamallama
Haha not at all. I just finished a 5K run. I haven't run in a week since being in NY (but thank goodness for all the walking and my daughter's walk up apt) and was dreading getting out there again. I just looked at my pics of Jim and then just thought of chasing that behind and those legs. It really works! It was actually a good run.
Andy_90's_generation
I think of Jim as a role model when my day gets kinda heavy and rough... i like to think he seems to have energy for everything, then, maybe i can do it too... there's this thing i'd love for him to do, that is writing a book. very little chances, but i'd love to read a novel, or a short story written by him!!!!!!
