If I get that close when I go my son will have a mess to deal with.

You will get that close! Only separated by the metal barrier. Go out the doors on the right and you are right there ;)

Jim will be at the book launching event for Ryan O'Connell's "I'm Special: And Other Lies We Tell Ourselves" book on June 15, 2015. See More.

Anyone going along to this or has read the book?

Anyone know when his last show will be? Im thinking about going but don't know if I could get back to NYC by July...

Last show is August 2nd. Edited by pegcarr

Some random guy posted on IG that he saw Jim signing at the stage door (he didn't go to the play, but just past the line outside) and he made some remark that the people getting autographs were only getting "two loops" or whatever, because Jim is essentially signing "JP".

:icon_rolleyes:

I had to comment on it--if Jim took the time to sign his whole name very meticulously, he wouldn't have time to get through that whole line the way he does.  He's quick, but he works the line, rather than just signing one or two programs and leaving.  That's also why he doesn't really have time to pose for selfies with every single person.

No one gets a big personal interview, but pretty much everyone gets a little something--and he says thanks to those who speak to him. :)

I'd take "two loops" and a thank you over nothing any day. :p

It is interesting that he makes the comment without seeing the show or ? getting an autograph.  I think the majority of people at the stage door are just happy to see Jim close up and the autograph is a bonus.  I have three :icon_razz: and they vary from the JP which he can do without looking much so he can say thanks to people to a J Pwith a squiggle after that he did on my ticket.  he had to look at that one to sign.

I went to seven stage doors on my recent trip and they were all different but all the actors were very thankful and appreciative of the audience and that we were waiting to see them.  Some signed initials only some full signatures some chatted and posed for selfies some didn't.  Jim was probably out the fastest and quickest through the line and the only one with a bodyguard.  He sometimes went back into the theatre and sometimes left straight after the signing.  I hear Darren Criss at Hegwic also has a vocal line and doesn't pose for selfies.

Personally I am very happy to see him close up, get a personal thanks for coming, and get my squiggles and my slightly out of focus photos.
