In a way, you have such a great feeling of mission accomplished when you finish something that was tiring exigent, and i'm talking of something like finishing a project for college or something like that... so i imagine Jim must feel tired but extremely happy for having so much work and for doing- successfully- something he clearly loves, like acting.

With three weeks left to go, An Act of God is still pulling in great numbers.   Last week the show grossed over $920,000 and filled 91.6% (avg) of the house over 8 performances.  To date the show has grossed a little over $8 million total and if attendance holds up, should gross over $10 million by he time the run ends.

“An Act of God” ($920,623), the solo show starring Jim Parsons, continued to hold the title for top-earning play - Variety.

I'm sure he has a countdown at this point.  He seemed tired a few weeks back when on Dan Patrick.  This sked has got to be draining.

I wonder if he was unwell when he was on Dan Patrick as he said he was taking steroids for his throat/voice and he had all the promo stuff going on the weeks before.  I think now with it going so well it is  more relaxing for him and hopefully he relaxes during his down time.

With any luck he'll be filming The Normal Heart sequel or possibly, taking next summer off.

Anyone been reading any of the chatter online about "The Rosie Project" finally being made into a movie?  Jennifer Lawrence just signed on to play the female lead and Jim's name is being thrown about (online) for the male lead. It would be a big film for him, but the part of the male lead, Don is very "Sheldon-like" and it seems, to me, that Jim has been seeking out roles that are different from Sheldon.

From Amazon...the plot synopsis for The Rosie Project...

The art of love is never a science: Meet Don Tillman, a brilliant yet socially inept professor of genetics, who’s decided it’s time he found a wife. In the orderly, evidence-based manner with which Don approaches all things, he designs the Wife Project to find his perfect partner: a sixteen-page, scientifically valid survey to filter out the drinkers, the smokers, the late arrivers.

Rosie Jarman possesses all these qualities. Don easily disqualifies her as a candidate for The Wife Project (even if she is “quite intelligent for a barmaid”). But Don is intrigued by Rosie’s own quest to identify her biological father. When an unlikely relationship develops as they collaborate on The Father Project, Don is forced to confront the spontaneous whirlwind that is Rosie―and the realization that, despite your best scientific efforts, you don’t find love, it finds you

I have always wanted Jim and Jennifer Lawrence to act together! I love them both and think they would have great chemistry together. And the movie is getting a lot of press! Hopefully this is something Jim will consider.

The book was amazing! I pictured Jim the whole time I read it b/c Don is so Sheldon like... He basically is Sheldon only he wants to fall in love. So for that reason even though I would be first in line to see it (i love the book and Jennifer Lawrence) i think he would pass. He was alrady accused of bringing to much of Sheldon into Oh. But he would be the perfect cast. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Will be interested to see what happens with the Rosie project,  I really enjoyed both books but agree that Jim may be looking for something different.  I know that Larry Kramer has finished the script for the Normal Heart sequel,  has it been picked up by HBO does anyone know? Jim back on Broadway in 2017 would suit my travel plans but I think I would make another special trip to see him if he does something earlier. The excellent box office and reviews must mean he will get more offers.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but i hope he stays away from Sheldon-like characters as much as he can (and wants), if possible... (and tbh i find both the plot and the actress, kinda meh. But that's just my weird taste in movies/artist lol )

TNH, yeah that's something i want to see soo baad! but i'm a little skeptical too, because you know the saying 'second parts, are never good'... i wholeheartedly hope this is not the case.

I'm kind of torn about what I'd like to see him in next--movies are obviously more accessible to the majority of his fans, but I feel like he'd be more "alive" doing theater.  Though, of course, he's a professional and would always bring his A-game to whatever he chooses to do, I like the idea of him getting his theater fix whenever he can.

But for me, since it's unlikely I could afford a trip to NYC any time soon, I'd like to see him on film, but the downside to that is that it usually takes some time for a film to finally be released, so if he does a film next summer, it will be at least several months before it hits theaters.

Anyway, I just want more Jimmy all the time! :)

Just returned from seeing An Act of God! We had seats in third row center and I swear it felt as if Jim was staring right at me during the entire play. He was magnificent.  Nice and raunchy for the humor yet strong and tender in some moments.  It seemed so totally different from his BBT role. My brother who is hard of hearing was with me and praised his projection and diction. He said he could understand every word and he usually can't at most shows.

We stayed after for the autograph signing and he did this efficiently but politely.  He said, "I probably can't cash a check with this," when he signed a program.

This was a fabulous experience--both the play and getting Jim's autograph.

I remember you trying to decide whether to go or not and you definetly made the right decision.  Sounds like you had fantastic seats and a great experinece.  It makes it hard to concentrate on what he is saying when he is staring right at you.:blum:.  Jim still seems very gracious and happy still when doing the signing.

Pegcarr,

Yes, I remember also worrying that the play's language might be too coarse for me, but it wasn't.  Actually, it was pretty clean. I saw Rent and that had worse language. Of course, there was a lot of innuendo but that doesn't bother me so much.

At at the signing, there was a woman asking lots of questions about how he would do the signing and how he would move down the line and other questions. I told her all the answers and she asked if I'd seen the show before and I told her no, but what I should have said is everything I know comes from The Big Bang Theory Forum!
