I went to the Gold Derby site, and they give him very little chance--but I don't really like that site or their predictions much. Ideas? Thanks so much, Ginny I don't really know how the awards work to be honest, a lot of the time I'll see someone win an award when I thought they were just terrible! All I have to go on is that the critic's reviews this season have been very positive towards Jim but like I said I never know

Yeah a weird way to give a major award, just lumped in with the group ones, he could have missed the announcement with getting up on stage and the applause etc, unless they know beforehand
Andy_90's_generation
I never read the critics reviews, that's most of the time a very personal, very subjective prediction or critic i don't care to read about. It is what it is, he wins or he doesn't (but of course i always want him to win everything lol). The voting process, Star, or Vonmar are more likely to explain it better than me, but in this case for the SAG Awards the actors are the ones who vote their colleagues. And although it's true Jim had very good contenders all this years he's been nominated, i can't shake the feeling that Jim hasn't won because of other reasons, call it jealousy at his fame or whatever... it's just a feeling i have. I don't know what are his chances this year, but i always hope! haha. Then we could proudly said Jim has won everything there is to win for an actor in TV. Anyway, I think all the winners knew everything in advance, so they were just surprised it was not announced a little more properly. They did the same thing for Elen Pompeo and Grey's Anatomy, so maybe it's how they managed to run the show this year to spare some time... When they gave Melissa McCarthy her awards she said "I get two?" so I don't think that they did tell them in advance, the people presenting the awards seemed to know who won and who to give each statue to though so I'd imagine they went up to him with one and told him and yeah maybe the cast missed it! I don't know what are his chances this year, but i always hope! haha. Then we could proudly said Jim has won everything there is to win for an actor in TV. SAG awards are voted by guild members, meaning you have to be a card-holding guild member (actor that is part of the union) to vote. However, you have to remember that actors are an odd breed. They are going to look for something innovative and new and edgy over something that is consistent, and fluid, even if high quality and always top notch. They also look at "agenda," meaning if they can push an agenda through a performance, that is going to win over something mainstream. So for example, Jeffrey Tambor likely stands a much higher chance of winning (and he is an excellent actor overall so nothing against his performance here), because he is in a show that is edgy, has a strong agenda and is pushing new thought. It is pushing the envelope and moving "art" to the edge with their transgender story arcs. This is a problem for The Big Bang Theory which has become a very mainstream show now. When it first began to air nine seasons ago, it was considered edgy and different because it was about mistfits trying to fit in somewhere. But being a nerd or geek is considered "cool" now and they made something that was at one time a misfit world into a mainstream world. That alone should be considered a feat IMO, but then again, I am not a SAG actor. The problem is that BBT is really considered quite "apple pie" by today's standards for shows. Look at all the nudity, perversity, violence on cable networks and even some broadcast networks are stretching that envelope. It makes me laugh when Mayim worried about she and Jim being "topless" (even though she really wasn't even fully topless) and covered by a bunch of covers on a bed as being too risque when you look at what is shown even on ABC, FOX, NBC, FX, or what used to be ABC Family (Freeform) these days, much less HBO and Showtime. So yes, it is going to be hard for BBT and its actors to compete with actors who are asked to strip down each week and do both full frontal and back nudity and other sorts of various and asunder actions in an industry-voted event. However, it is not impossible to win. They often surprise us and we have seen success with the show even with some of the later seasons. All hope is not lost and possibly the loss of virginity story arc of Shamy will help in this year's awards ceremonies.

pegcarr
Nice Instagram post about a write up on his friends Adam Roberts wedding that Melissa organised that I would link to if I could. Shows what type of guy he is that he hasn't said anything about winning an award.

I Miss Dan
So far, there have been 2 clips of Jim shown on the Critics' Choice Awards--the opening showed him in bed saying he'd enjoyed coitus more than he'd thought he would, and from his interview on The Actors' Studio while he was doing "An Act of God". And Mayim WON as Best Supporting Actress in a TV Comedy!! Yeah!!!

Tomorrow is Todd's Bday (i think), i have very little illusions jim will post something about it, what with all the sh*t he got yesterday.. pity because i'd like to see jim saying happy birthday to his boyfriend dammit! i'm getting so sick of social media lately, i can't even go to Jim's tag on tumblr because it pops that hideous fanfic page, and other stuff... and now they have invade IG... so F sad... there's a new wave of tbbt and shamy fans that can't be called fans at all, they've ruined it for me big time. Very odd. Ugh it won't let me reply to the post below below it, so here goes....I believe last year Jim posted a HBD post on the 19th (so tomorrow) would be Todd's birthday, but I do agree, that I am not expecting any post now from him about it. I think he is not likely to post for a while unless he has a major project breakthrough come up. He seems to focus on work posts more lately than anything else. It annoys me beyond end that he got upset and I don't even know where or what he saw that upset him, but based on a friend who saw some posts she said they were not really all that "pressuring." More like "are you happy Mayim won" kinds of posts. And they were not from the fans that we all suspected according to her but from just normal fans and not asking him to post or anything. So I don't know what to think, but he definitely felt "intruded" upon and that upsets me because he should never feel that way. Fans need to learn boundaries. While that question I posted was an example and rather innocent, it also is rather stupid because of course he is going to be happy for Mayim and why anyone would think otherwise is silly. But whatever...it still is a shame because it threw shade on her win as well as both of their enjoyment over it. 2 hours ago, Andy_90's_generation said: Isn't that weird? they use his material but don't nominate him. Tenji
He was getting lots of comments on his Genie Bouchard post about being a 'bad friend' because he hadn't posted a public congratulatory message to Mayim. Some people are such pricks and can be so judgemental. I feel really sorry for some celebrities (especially someone sweet and kind like Jim) who get crap like this from supposed 'fans'. The people posting the following (for example) "Why the hell did not publish anything Mayim? It is his first award, bad friend and companion" - they have fan stuff on their profiles and are also about 12! Unfortunately these little brats seems to think that it is acceptable to post like this to celebrities and I'm glad that so many people from the fandom went on there to post supportive comments and teach them that that is not ok. And yes, as I said, I had not seen them and was only quoting my friend. It is unfortunate that those comments were so pushy and rude. I don't understand why people feel they can tell other people what to do and how to live their lives, especially celebs they don't know at all. It just amazes me!
