Sundance Wish List: 70 Films We Hope Will Head to Park City in 2018

Another exciting Sundance lineup is right around the corner, and as filmmakers wait for the final word, we've assembled this list of strong possibilities for the 2018 program.

“A Kid Like Jake”
Director: Silas Howard
Cast: Claire Danes, Jim Parsons, Ann Dowd, Octavia Spencer, Priyana Chopra
Why We Hope It Heads to Park City: Howard’s third feature is based on a play by recent Yale graduate Daniel Pearle that was first staged at Lincoln Center in 2013. “A Kid Like Jake” follows the parents of a gender non-conforming child as they navigate New York City’s highly competitive private school admissions process It’s a timely storyline that Howard, who is trans, should be able to unspool with unique grace.

The Sundance Film Festival takes place in Park City, Utah and runs from January 18-28, 2018

Jim and Todd were at the Rockets/Lakers game last night

From The Houston Chronicle

Stars in the crowd for Rockets win over Lakers

With just one game in a stretch of seven days, the Rockets are enjoying some time in Los Angeles. On Sunday night, they also enjoyed some time playing in front of some celebrites at the Staples Center.

The Rockets beat the Lakers 118-95 on Sunday night in Los Angeles to win their seventh straight game and put on a show for some Houston transplants.

Actor Jim Parsons, who graduated from Klein Oak High School and the University of Houston, was sitting courtside with his spouse Todd Spiewak. Rapper Travis Scott, an Elkins High School graduate and former Rockets ball boy, also was courtside.
