Johnny Galecki

That's true, he probably has it the easiest of the group to mask his looks, because they make him look so nerdy on the show.

This is so true. I feel that the TPTB wanted to make Leonard so plain looking in every way that none of Johnny's good looks would be seen on screen.  I use to read comments online about how some didn't know Johnny was so handsome and thought he and Leonard looked the same in real life.

That's one reason they have him hoodies all the time. It disguises the fact that he's in very good shape.

You know the thing I like about the Priya saga that Leonard/Johnny was allowed to get out of those hoodies and into some nice clothes and I loved every minute of it.  :icon_redface:

I do think it's time that Leonard be allowed to upgrade and get out of those sometimes.

Damn them hoodies.

And the hair gel-y hair.

Ah, t-shirt scenes are the best.

Really ? You do not like the hoodies ? I love those. I find them to be a very smart move by the costume department. Leonard is a worrier so of course he would always wear a hood, just in case it gets rainy... In Pasadena. Furthermore, he is from New Jersey. He is not used to all-year-round sun.

He looks perpetually prepared for a nasty gust of very cold wind. What could possibly be more Leonard-y than that ?

As for the overly geled-up hair, while I would welcome an appearance of Mr. Galecki's naturally untameable curls, it also makes sense for the character to style his locks like that. He has no idea what he is doing; nobody has ever taught or shown him how to be conventionally attractive. Not his father, not his younger brother, not his few friends at Princeton, not Sheldon (Heaven forbid), etc. Pryia and Stephanie tried but it made him itchy. So he does what he thinks is best and goes way overboard with the hair product. I like it. It is cute. Like a little boy trying his hand at pampering before his very first date.

I didn't know that. I have a lot of respect for an actor who does a USO tour. Have any of the rest of the group done anything like that?

He has good reason. His father was in the Air Force and Johnny was born in Bree, Belgium(I've been on that base). Also on his trip last year were Steve Molaro and Regina King. Which may have led to her playing Ms. Davis of HR.

You would think Penny would help Leonard look more like Johnny, but I guess that wouldn't make him the perpetual nerd.

I do like the hoodies and the comment about the hair gel was just another thought of how they differentiate Johnny from Leonard. I get the work the costume dept. does, I think how they use it for his character is great.

I just love his arms and hair is all ;)

Johnny has gotten more buff in the last couple years. If you compared his chest a couple years ago (like in the episode he tried to have phone sex with Priya) to the episode when he was trying to move in with Penny, you can see a difference. It must be all those chin-ups he told Penny he was trying to do.

Maybe, he's been putting in a lot of manual labor on his property and in his vineyard. Or, he's been hitting the gym with Kelli.

I think I remember in one interview he said Kaley hunted him down at the gym or something... now, if anybody at my gym would like to look less steroids and more Johnny that would be great

Maybe she likes them because they're easier to take off. ;)

Ah, true. Hoodies and t-shirts are easy, shirts have too many buttons and cufflinks and it all takes too much time. Penny has it all worked out ;)

Could see someone else playing the part of Leonard other than Johnny?

For me Johnny makes Leonard who he is and I can't see anyone else being the character.

Well, at this point, especially, how could anyone replace any of the main actors?  What they each bring to their respective roles makes their characters what they are.  No one else would be like them.

This true. They are always for people that do crazy things or bad things which I have never hear of Johnny doing.

Yes he is a private person.  Sometimes I wish some of the other stars out there would take a page of the same book --- where they keep their private life private.

Fox Buys Comedy From Ricky Blitt, Johnny Galecki & Stephen McPherson With Penalty

It marks Galecki’s first sale as a producer. Here’s Your Damn Family centers on a stunted, set-in-his-ways thirtysomething man living with his mom who finds his perfectly organized world upended when his mother/roommate gets married, and her new husband plus his three teenage children move in.
