Hmmm, I don't think Mayim's bothered by those comments, maybe she was just in the mood to reply... Honestly, I don't care about what people think of me that much either, but if someone told me to "put on makeup and look nice" (which was exactly the comment Mayim replied to), I would probably laugh at that person and say something as well.

Or maybe it does bother her. Who knows.

I honestly don't understand what kind of pleasure people get from telling her she's ruined the big bang theory since she joined.

Clearly Mayim's mission was to make Amy some nasty woman who changed vintage Sheldon into a human with feelings...(I can't attach photos, but imagine Leonard with a sarcasm sign).

I feel bad that she seems to get so much hate from certain fans of the show... mind you, all the hate I read generally comes from people who loath the show now!

Anyways, I love Mayim and I wouldn't enjoy bbt as much without Amy, so she should ignore them OR direct them to Bill.

uhhh rant over  :icon_redface:

On a side note, I can't wait to read her kveller post about prom :)

I love Mayim, but I honestly wish I hadn't read it. It kind of put a damper on the ily scene for me. It seems as though she always wants to keep Shamy right where they are, for whatever reason.

Maybe I'll feel differently if I read again when I am in a better mood. I wish Jim would put something out like he did for the kiss because we know he is all about Shamy going full steam ahead.

agreed!!  I'm waiting for more of Jim's thoughts on it because he is so opposite of Mayim on the flow of Shamy.....Kinda of ironic isn't it...they are the polar opposites of their characters...

I don't let Mayim's feelings of Shamy get me down...She likes slow pace, she enjoys the themes aren't driven home each week, etc.   Luckily the writers (and our boy Jim) know what the viewers want for Shamy.

I did appreciate her thoughts on the appearance of Amy for the prom episode.  She does realize its a huge moment for them...just not like us...LOL

Mayim's great and all, but I kinda expect this stuff from her.

And Mayim's usually wrong about Shamy stuff anyway. I know that sounds mean, but before the SIK, she didn't think Sheldon would do that.

A little while ago, Mayim said she couldn't picture Sheldon saying ILY.

She was proved wrong on both occasions.

Again, I mean this with the highest respect, but I'm looking forward to more Shamy things she says, so I can say "Ah, so the opposite may be the truth!"

I mean, imagine Mayim saying,

"I don't think Sheldon would ever propose."

I'd expect a marriage proposal after that, LOL.

Yeppers....I remember that too...and I thought "really Mayim, you don't think "eventually" they'll head down that path....being they've mentioned it from your characters mouth 3x???"

Hey, as long as she still brings everything to Amy...she can say whatever she wants...LOL...

I do like a few things she said, especially in regards to the vulnerability.

I had wished she discussed the process she and Jim went through to make that episode as perfect as possible. Like she did with The Locomotive Manipulation.

But her article was pretty much what I expected.

Mayim just loves the super slow pace of Shamy, and that's okay.

In all honesty, I didn't expect an ILY either. And in all honesty, I would've preferred it if the ILY happened Valentine's Day 2015.

But like Mayim, I have put my trust in the writers, and I'm looking forward to see what they bring next.

I don't understand the "frustration"  with what she said in the article.

To me, all she said (especially at the beginning) was that she doesn't know where this will lead.

I know Mayim usually is a bit more reserved about Shamy, but I never have the feeling she is slamming the brakes of the relationship.

I really, really loved this particular part of the article:

Note that the way I portray Amy, I don’t have her expect these things of him the way people tend to in “normal” relationships. Every step he takes is laudable and beautiful because there is no expectation. That’s how the Shamy rolls.

Amy says she is “always” wanting more, but she does not hang her coat on that expectation coatrack the way so many of us do in relationships. She is fully aware that she wants more, but she is satisfied to be on this ride with Sheldon. Because she loves him unconditionally. She accepts him. She understands him.

You resumed perfectly what I thought after reading her BTS.

I'm also so happy because just answered to all the questions I've asked her on facebook (there is only one I don't have an answer and I think that Jim will answer to that one).

I don't know if she read my post but I'm just happy the way she did her "report" :)

Mayim is as much as Jim the captain of our ship.

She just analyzes things in a different manner, probably because she's taking her job really seriously and because she had to play the same Amy-I-have-a-boyfriend-but-he-is-different for 4 years now.

I'm not saying that Jim is unprofessional, it's quite the opposite, but Jim talks about Sheldon as a character. He ships the Shamy as we do, because he's not Sheldon and he even sang about that fact.

Mayim talks about Amy as a part of herself. Because yes it's work, but she knows her.

I think Mayim is really sensitive, she wanted to tell us that the Shamy are important for her, that what happened was huge and that she has no clue about what will come next or what was coming because, perhaps, she's thinking as Amy, not Mayim at these moments.

So maybe she's wrong when she thought a kiss or a ILY wouldn't happened for Amy.

Maybe she's wrong when she thinks that looking pretty as Amy made Sheldon loves her.

But when you're reading her post, you can clearly make the difference between Mayim and Amy.

And that's why I love her so much and I love reading every things she writes.

I liked that article. I thought she had a rather good take on it. The worst thing she said was she didn't know how she felt about it, but I think that was shock more than anything, not disappointment or desire to slow down. Then afterwards, she talked about the dress and stuff (which I do agree would have been nicer if she included a little of the Majim interactions), but in terms of the scene itself I got the impression she thought it was wonderful and she put a lot of thought into Amy's portrayal.

I didn't know she gets to choose how Amy's wardrobe and makeup, hair, etc, is gonna be, funny she liked that yellow thing Amy wore on a previous episode.

as for the surprise of the ILY, i think even Jim would be surprised, even though he always says he wants this story to keep growing, guess is hard to imagine what will come next, when they don't even get to read the plots with that much of anticipation...

I just read the article and I don't find anything to criticize about what she says.

At the beginning, I think she was expressing some of the same thoughts we've had here about being surprised that we got this Shamy milestone so early in the season and that she's always surprised by how and when the writers come up with these sorts of things. I didn't get the sense that she didn't want it to happen or thought it was too much or too soon.

And I really like what she says about Amy not demanding anything from Sheldon and letting him get there on his own. Just like she said that he didn't have to say it back just because of social convention, etc., she doesn't want him to fake it or to pretend things he doesn't truly think or feel. Mayim says that Amy loves him unconditionally, which I think is true.

While Amy can occasionally get frustrated with him and some of his nonsense (like inviting Raj to tag along on their anniversary date), for the most part she does exercise a great deal of patience with him, and that's a good thing.
