cat snuggles <3

Cat snuggles are the best things ever! Especially in winter time. Mine are the best snugglers, lol! <3

Mayim should know certainly as cat lover that having cats also is a great way to balance the good and bad energies around us. They are very sensitive but strong at same time. And very warm as we watch Tv on couch :)

Did she lose Esau? I know she said he was elderly and ailing in a picture a while back.

Sadly, yes, it seems to be the case. I'm not sure if she made a public post about that but I've seen people say that for a while now and her latest IG posts with him point to that direction as well. :(

Mayim hit a million followers on FB and, to celebrate, she had an impromptu live chat with fans one hour ago. I wish I had known about it before, to watch it live. It's still on her FB page, though, so if you want, you can catch up with that. Fair warning, her fans' questions were very focused on the current political situation in USA...

Ugh! Why are people so concerned with the thoughts of an entertainer on these subjects? Smh...

I think it is interisting to know as long it doesn't become too much. And some people only seek the controversy and not specifically a healthy exchange of opinions...

I can see the interest part. And the exchange of opinions should be encouraged. What concerns me is the people that read what a celebrity says about an issue and taking it as some enlightened, knowledgeable, viewpoint. Often times, the celebrity is no more informed than the listener. It should also be remembered that many successful entertainers (actors, athletes, singers, etc...) are often completely out of touch with the day to day concerns of the average citizen.

No problem with someone asking her opinion. The problem is someone listening to her and not thinking for themselves.

Agree. But unfortunately there will be always people who needs to guide their lives by famous point of views, whatever is their politic party or their shoes style we might be talking about. It is scary as much world  is getting developed about tech, more people are getting more isolated socially and tend to copy what is most of people do without thinking if it is useful or healthy for them. It is the world we have. *sigh*

Mayim has the right to voice her opinion like anybody else and yes, she isn't shy to speak her mind for a long list of good reasons.

From what I can tell she isn't misusing her popularity for some sinister goal (lol) so I'm not sure that there's an issue with people listening to her. I also find it rather weird to assume that her audience will eat everything up when her whole shtick on her online platforms is to nurture a critical and open minded community that gives multiple nuanced positions a chance to be heard.

For make it clear,  I was only refering to people who dont think by themselves and need to use others voices for making their own being heared. I had not any intention of saying Mayim should not voice her opinions. She does and I admire her for that. There are weird followers to most of famous people in all fields of society.

I have to agree, and I'm not singling out Mayim, this applies to all celebrities.  Actually Mayim is much better education than most celebrities plus she has worked in the real work in a prestigious job so her opinion deserves more consideration than others, but it is still her opinion.

"I'm a geeky mom" is one of my favourite from Mayim, really loved it! It 's so great how she considerates everything for her children grow as happy and wise people and she does things not only from a mum's perspective. And it's so cool the way she shares this side of her life with us without sharing too much of the most private things of her family, you know. She is really imo a master in art of communication. :)

Yes, she certainly does. No one suggested otherwise. Nor did anyone infer that she has a sinister goal, is trying to start a cultural revolution, or is a member of the Illuminati.

People listening to her is not a problem, either. She's well educated, intelligent, and an effective communicator. Three things many of her peers cannot always say. I enjoy reading what she has to say on a variety of topics and admire her personal investment in encouraging girls and women to pursue their dreams and interests.

If her audience is indeed listening with a critical mind and forming their own views and opinions after fact checking and researching the topics then that is wonderful. However, listening to people talk about issues when their only informational source is a celebrity reveals that many do not bother to do any personal data mining of their own. This is common and troubling as too many times the celebrity has also done no research and is merely parroting another, not so well intentioned, source.

I'll have to take your word on this last part. I hope it is so and have no reason to assume otherwise in Mayim's case. However, many times this is the rhetorical line uttered by entertainers and the reality is that they are quick to shout down, denigrate, and attempt to silence any view that does not agree with their views.

She literally has her own website revolving around that very idea to prove it.

Sure, there's always the danger of people listening to what TV stars say without checking what they say (which obviously resulted in the whole trouble with you-know-who) but Mayim really isn't part of that problem at all.
