It’s a bizarre term that I don’t see being thrown around much. I think a lot of men myself included would not have an issue when being in a relationship being called a boyfriend, I wouldn’t find ‘boy’ demeaning at all.

Well, maybe it was their "thing" like a little in-joke.

Maybe, I obviously don't know the dynamics of their relationship.

I had thought it might have had something to do with Mayim in the past being vocal about the term 'girl or girls' when talking about adult women. A case of 'I don't believe women or groups or women should be called girls, therefore I don't believe men or groups of men should be called boys'.  But that's just conjecture on my part.

That's what I would think, too, and I can see how easily this could turn into playfully turning "boyfriend" into "man friend".

Mayim shares behind-the-scenes photos from ‘Beaches’ on its 30th anniversary

When I was 12 years old, after four months of almost weekly auditions, I was cast in Beaches to play Bette Midler’s character as a child. I remember thinking I would never get the part since I was not a redhead; my mom swore that I was going to get it. She was right. With a wig and brown contact lenses (Bette’s eyes are brown; mine are blue/green), I was transformed into a pint-size version of Bette Midler as Cecilia Carol “C.C.” Bloom.

That was 30 years ago, and Beaches remains many people’s favorite movie of all time, especially people who like a good cry and movies about friendship. I have so many fond memories of working on Beaches. The film was released on Dec. 21, 1988, and I thought today—on its 30th anniversary—was the right time to share photos and thoughts from the memorable set.

Mayim shares behind-the-scenes photos from the Critics’ Choice Awards

The Critics Choice Awards were last night, and although I was not nominated (I have won twice—once three years ago and once last year!), Jim Parsons was nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series and the entire cast of The Big Bang Theory presented our boss, Chuck Lorre,  with the Critics’ Choice Creative Achievement Award.

Many, many amazing things happened last night! Even if you did watch the award show, here are a few behind-the-scene things you may have missed…
