Elizabeth Banks, Geena Davis and Mayim Bialik Booked for AT&T Shape Event

AT&T Shape — a technology-meets-entertainment confab scheduled for June 22-23 at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank — has announced that Elizabeth Banks, Mayim Bialik and Geena Davis are booked for the event.

In its fourth year, AT&T Shape will explore 5G and the future of entertainment through interactive exhibits and speakers. Banks will be featured on a panel discussing her experience in the industry, a journey that has taken her from actress to filmmaker. Meanwhile, Bialik and Davis will be joined by astrophysicist Dr. Erin Macdonald. The panel will discuss the study and results of “The Scully Effect,” which showed that the character Dana Scully on The X-Files led more women to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Also scheduled to speak is filmmaker Karen Palmer who will discuss her use of artificial intelligence in creating RIOT, an emotionally responsive film, which uses facial recognition and AI technology to navigate through a dangerous riot.

Also at this year's event, organizers are bringing back the AT&T Film Awards for a 6th installment. Finalists — up for $60,000 in prize money — will be invited to attend Shape for screenings of top-rated films. Submissions will be accepted through May 5. Additional speakers, exhibitors and demos will be announced in the coming months.
