I was looking on YT for TBBT cast videos and I came upon this.

Kevin in Freeloaders. It's a pretty big role
And its a raunchy comedy.
I found a link for the whole movie. It's kinda funny but raunchy.
Made me look at Stuart in a different way

**************WARNING****************
It is a very rated R movie.
It has nudity, adult language and drug use

I personally never liked the Stuart character, it just doesn't really add anything to the show.
He's just a tool, to be used for whatever is needed.

Like they did in the "The Flaming Spittoon Acquisition" , he was just a tool to get Sheldon take a big step.

But this has nothing to do with Kevin, I think he plays Stuart to the best he can.

That's what most minor or guest roles are, a tool to advance the plot. Don't forget Stuart was also use to show that Penny had feelings for Leonard.

But this has nothing to do with Kevin, I think he plays Stuart to the best he can.

Let's give some love to Aarti Mann. She did a great job portraying a very disliked character.

I saw Sussman a long time ago on an episode of L&O: Criminal Intent, where he was sort of a bad guy, or more like he got caught up doing some questionable things for a bad guy.

I think he was some kind of computer guy and he and a couple of his friends/acquaintances were working for this guy by coming up with betting programs or something like that?  Anyway, I saw him in that ep long before I started watching Big Bang and didn't really remember him.  But then I saw a rerun of the ep after I'd seen him as Stuart, and it's so strange to see him in a straight, serious role. :p

Kevin Sussman was considered a recurring character but in Season 6 he was promoted to regular and had his name in the opening credits.  But then he was moved down again.

Does anyone know what the story is?  Actors usually don't talk openly about these things.  Perhaps Kevin insisted on being a regular or he would leave.

That may have happened with Darryl in The Office.  They moved him to the regular office and gave him tons more funny lines.  It may have been because the actor insisted it be that way.

It was probably similar to Sara Gilbert with a few differences.   They promoted him to regular, to keep him as he was being used as a Howard substitute and as a bromance with Raj, while Howard was in space.  Then, after Howard came back, the writers found that they didn't have enough material for him, Raj and Howard could go back to being best buds, so they demoted him.

Actually, Howard was only in space the first four episodes of Season 6.  Your point is valid but something else may have been at play.

What was the whole story about Sara Gilbert?

Yeah, there was.  He was being considered for a few other roles, so they gave him main cast to have him available.   He appeared in several early season six episodes as guest star and after being assigned to the main cast only appeared in the main cast credits when he was on the show (The same credit deal that Sara Gilbert had. Melissa and Mayim had the same thing prior to season six, even though they we're main cast.  The counter-example for this was that Kaley Cuoco appeared in the credits, even though she was out for the two weeks with her broken leg.

With Sara Gilbert, it was a case of the writers not having enough for her to do.  She could either sleep with one of the guys (Howard, Leonard) or she could call Sheldon a dumbass.  There wasn't much else they had her do.  Also, starting in December of season three, she was involved in developing, creating, and producing, The Talk.  It premiered in the fall of 2010, just at the beginning of season four.  By then, Amy had arrived and appeared in several episodes  and Bernadette was brought back (and Melissa Rauch was given main cast status) in the episode that aired four days before the premiere of The Talk.

This seems like an older thread, so not too sure if there's going to be many responses, but I love him as an actor :) Honestly, I'm kind of secretly hoping they'll make him apart of the main cast some day (Although the possibility of that is probably quite slim :p )

I'm wondering if one (or more) of the BBT writers is especially keen on Kevin's character--and if so, I think that particular writer/writers is/are brilliant. This is purely anecdotal, but I feel like that the episodes that feature Stuart are more interesting and witty (not necessarily because of Stuart per se). Episodes without him feel too jokey or positively mean-spirited. Stuart as humanizing influence or just the personal favorite of excellent writers?
