I think the first time I watched it was when I was on holiday in the US and it was on TV,  I watched it cause it looked familiar cause I'd seen things from tumblr on it. ??? But then there goes my life bye the first episode I watched was the one where Sheldon's sick,

My love for TBBT was like an old-fashioned romance - veeerry slow! But ultimately that meant that, for me, I have become far more obsessed with it than anything else. I'll be honest, I was kind of into it until, being the girl I am, the Shamy really got me hooked. I was like....Sheldon? Romance? PAH! But the writers somehow pulled it off and coloured me intruiged!

First time I watched it, I had a chip on my shoulder and thought it was just an unfunny pisstake of scientists.

Then I started catching episode after episode in random order in reruns because it's always on when I eat, and changed my mind and actually started to enjoy it, so I never missed a chance to watch it whenever it was on. I got hooked because it had so many parallels with my life that I won't get into right now, but some were DOWNRIGHT creepy... like little details that were exactly the same in my life.

But what really got me hooked was Amy. Even though I relate a lot more to Sheldon, in terms of personality, I got superexcited about a neuroscientist being introduced and at some point I decided I wanted to go back and re-watch the episodes in order so I could see how she developed as a character and got hooked on the Shamy in the process and the rest is history.

I pretty much record any pilot series that sounds even remotely like something I might watch or my wife might watch.  I usually wait for at least 3 weeks and then I watch one or more to see if I like it or not.

So no cool story for me just business as usual.

Early last year I happened to be channel hopping and the episode where sheldon got all the cats was showing, the actual scene was the others avoiding the shamy in pennys apartment, I enjoyed it so when I next caught it again it was the episode where penny got hooked on the online game and after that i got all tbe dvds and I have been hooked ever since :) Jim does a fantastic portrayal of Sheldon

I was always a HUGE Kaley fan, 8 Simple Rules, Charmed & etc. When I heard she was gonna be on the show, I tuned in and fell in love with the entire cast. They carry each other so well.

I think the first episode I saw was the one where their apartment was broken into.  It had an immediate resonance for me because I'd had my apartment broken into--plus all the nerd culture references were familiar in some way.  I thought the cast was charming and the show very funny.

I didn't really watch it regularly at first, since my Thursdays are often busy with rehearsals, etc., but at some point I had seen enough episodes that I made a point of watching it whenever it was on, if I was home.  I started taping episodes this season, but I bought all the DVDs this past summer/fall. :)

It started with the first show, I saw. I couldn't believe that they actually had the equations they did on the whiteboards. Nobody put those on television, ever, because no one understood them.

And yet, there they were. Then, as I watched, it just turned into a humorous replay of my life, hobbies, friends, school, work, and, of course, my then girlfriend, now wife. When the scene where Penny is yelling at the group for blocking the stairs with the time machine, comes on, I have to change channels or leave the room due to how painful it can be to watch. This is due to how accurately it reflects a very similar event between my wife and I.

I was actually LATE to getting into the show. I got into it when season 4 was on. I was at my mom's place and she was like, "You should check this show out, it's funny..." She had barely discovered it herself. The episode that was on she had seen before because she said, "Watch this part...." It was the wildebeest episode...the moment where Amy telling Leonard that high heels make the buttocks and breasts more prominent. LOL. I watched it with her, like it...then I saw another episode....or it could be the same episode? This scene...

That laugh right there hooked me like a fish. I started buying the previous seasons and my mom and I got all caught up together. I'd bring my laptop to the hospital when she was hospitalized for her M.S. for a month and we'd watch it together.

This show brings me so much joy and I have my mom to thank. Because of her telling me to watch it, I am now apart of this amazing forum where I get to talk to many great people daily and I've been to multiple tapings of the show. What more could a girl ask for? I am so thankful.

Never be afraid to be who you are and do what you love or WATCH what you love because good things can come out of it :)

I think it was trialled here during the summer non-rating season 2008. It had me at physicist - never seen that as protagonists in mainstream before. Also my household was hooked by the Leonard/Penny dynamic. My wife and I starting barracking for them.

A friend recommended it to me because he said I have the characteristics of Sheldon. I started watching it and was amazed at how there was a show which represented people like me, as well as being extremely funny. It was during the end of the third season/beginning of the fourth season. I've watched it ever since.

It was quite by chance. Switching on the TV some time back, I did what some people did - channel-surfing. I'd seen bits and pieces of TBBT. Watched a whole episode and that was it! Got the boxset seasons 1-5. Love this show. Love Jim Parsons as Sheldon .

I hooked me up when...It started off as a show about a nerd in love with a girl wildly out of
his league and his desperate attempts to get together with her, while
his friends got into different funny situations. It was simple, it was
charming, it brought something new to the table; the inclusion of nerd
culture into mainstream television.
