It was a good episode not great. The Good: Fun with Flags was hysterical-Best one they ever had. Sheldon knocking at Penny's door was funny. Sheldon hiding all the things to bring to Penny's play. The Bad: Raj- I personally didn't need to see him in his underwear. Really didn't laugh during those scenes Raj/Lucy- Really don't see a connection there. Can't picture them hanging with the group. The Indifferent: Penny's performance like Shamy FTW said wasn't that remarkable. This is the part where the show seemed to end abruptly. This probably looked better at tea ctual taping. I'm guessing that it wasn't originally the tag. I also hope this means the end of Amy and the monkeys. I think that bit has run it's course.

Good episode, not as EPIC as last week's V-day one though.   But at least Jucy ship is off to a decent start.   Lucy is really sweet I like that she is shy and has trouble talking to people kind of like Raj, but at least she had the guts to come back and try to find him at comic book store and apologize.

I really loved part with Sheldon and Amy on Skype.  Amy and her monkeys are so funny!  LOL   But what I find so fascinating about it is seeing how Sheldon has grown.  He smiled at her right away when he said hello and noticable difference from when he said hello to her when he opened door in V-day episode.  You can tell he missed her and was excited to tell her what happened with Fun with Flags.  I always see FF as SHAMY thing, so having Penny getting in on it made me nervous at first, but I love that it was Amy who encourage Sheldon to compliment her and be nice to her.  Amy is actively responsible for helping Sheldon grow socially and so is Penny and Leonard.

Also, I thought clothes they were wearing to go out to Penny's play were surprisingly normal and nice.  Sheldon didn't look like a dork, and neither did Leonard.  Amy had on that pretty hot pink jacket, when did she stop wearing hideous looking cardigans with ugly horizontal stripes that make her look fatter than she is?  I hope they have Amy dress like that more often and maybe next time get some cuter shoes too and she'll basically look like a nice, normal conservative girl.  I like that characters keep going back in forth between being CRAZY and QUIRKY and their goofy nerd selves and then being just little bit cooler and more "normal"  its interesting because I never know which verison I'm going to get.  I mean Leonard didn't do anything really nerdy at all this week and really neither did Howard.  Sheldon went back and forth between rude Sheldon and nice Sheldon and Raj went SUPER CRAZY and sad lol   He definitely has lot of issues he needs to work on but I think this relationship could be good turning point for him later on or at least I hope so. :)

Love how Leonard acting like SHelly's dad by making him give up all the toys and electronic gaming computers lol.  But Sheldon still has his phone right plenty of games he can play on your phone if your board :p lol.

I've seen a Street Car Named Desire and Penny's acting was okay, but not that moving or remarkable as they made it seem at least not to me.  But I'm glad that show is finally acknowledging her acting ability and that she is still sticking with her classes.  Maybe they can finally have her get a real acting job or have Jucy and Howardette come out to see her in a play too.

I love how Jim Parsons has two Emmys and basically fantastic actor yet he is so good at playing SHeldon as a bad actor, you have to be really great actor to make being a bad actor looking GREAT! lol   Mayim's really good at doing that too. :)   I hope now that Amy's study is over she has more time to do Fun with Flags with Sheldon.  I like that they're inviting other people first Wil and Levar, now Penny.  Maybe next time Sheldon can ask Stuart to come by and do it with them.

I enjoyed it, but it felt a little but like the middle installment of a movie trilogy... But maybe that's because I'm spoiled for the next ep and know what's going to happen. Dunno.

I did love the FWF opening--I was laughing out loud and I watched it 2 or 3 times before I even went on to the next scene. :)

I did think it was funny to see Raj in his slovenliness--loved the bib and tightie whities (though his mother did admonish him about wearing those! :p )

I did love Amy and her monkeys, but I wonder if that's the last we'll see of them. That makes me a little sad.

And I loved the way Sheldon had stashed all his toys to take to the play. I think I know some people like that... :p

I was disappointed that the tag we'd heard about wasn't used. :(. I was really looking forward to that. I wonder if we'll ever see that footage...

Was an ok ep. It had some hilarious moments but fell flat for most of it. I wasn't particularly impressed with Penny in the play at the end, to have the guys gush over her seemed a bit excessive, but the lines they got her to act out were actually quite symbolic of her whole relationship with Leonard, I found.

LOVED the Skype scene with Amy and the monkeys. LOL. And the whole knocking thing we saw in the preview. The only thing I don't understand is how Amy got kicked out of the project if it was at its final stages anyway.

Lucy was ok. Having read the taping reports I think she might come across more interesting in the next episode. I like her, but, like the rest of the episode, it fell a bit flat I thought.

Anyway, I did not expect much of it, and while it was ok it's definitely not one I'll watch many times. There was nothing I hated in it but nothing special either.

Yeah, I think I'll be rewatching the FWF segment because of Jim's hilarious performance--and because he spread his legs to invite me in... :p

From what i read on tumblr. Call Me Maybe was played during it or something like that. It wasn't mentioned in the taping reports here, just someone on tumblr who said they were their as well. So if that was made clear in the original reports, then i don't think anybody would have expected the tag to be included. Because they would have to clear the song to use it and the big bang theory really doesn't do that much.

I know Leonard sings that Boston song in Season 1. Howard sings that Bernadette song in what...Season 3? But it's not the actual song being played.

Then again...maybe they just played Call Me Maybe between takes. But they mentioned how Jim was doing some of the dancing he did to that. But they rewrote that tag so many times they probably decided to scrap it. That's why the Tag tonight didn't seem like a tag. It was a scene that they had to put as the tag cause it must have ran long.

Here is what the person on tumblr said...

Well glad I was at the taping for that part it was excellent the whole cast was in the boys apartment and Penny and Sheldon were reciting lines and Sheldon takes off his jacket revealing him in just a tank and it’s going on pretty awkward the gang have their mouths open like WTF and they reshoot it and Leonards playing with the etch-a-sketch Sheldon hid in his booty earlier. During takes the DJ played Call Me Maybe and the ladies started dancing for us and Kunal chimed in. After that, that’s when Jim started dancing a little with his hips and it was great :)!

So when reading that, if something like that was included in the taping reports, i would have not expected it to be kept. It says "DURING TAKES". So not surprised it was cut reading that. Seems hilariious, but where would it fit in an episode that ran long like tonights? What could they have cut from tonights to keep that as the tag? I can't think of a scene right now.

Yeah, I agree. The writers are good enough there they don't have to make it sexual between Howard and Raj. I think sometimes the writers just can't help themselves when they have a howard and raj scene to not make it sexual. I thought they did a good job in the episode today in that aspect. Not making it sexual.

Physical comedy always makes me laugh, and Jim does it so well. loved that scene with him and Penny.  I have to say I have my reservations about Raj getting a girlfriend so I will just wait and see on this one, although it was good to see Kunal get some storyline again.  Just the right amount of Amy and Bernie is this one too. My partner and I watched it and both laughed quite a bit, but my was that ending strange? I would rate this one as "GOOD".

OH, can I say I LOVE that blue jacket that Howard was wearing!!!

Lastly I am praying to whomever that the scene with Jim in his singlet makes it onto the extras for Season 6.

I thought it was very good. I laughed out loud at the Fun with Flags scene. Loved seeing Raj have a storyline. His fall into despair was well done & funny. I have those same Uggs! (But no tightie whities.) Amy & the monkeys :). I was disappointed with Penny's "great" acting. The episode seemed short...I wanted more.

No offense, but if after 3 seasons you are still carping about 'the right amount of Amy and Bernie' then I truly feel sorry for you.

I thought this was a good one...nothing special

Sheldon-Penny part was amusing and pleasant...making good use of his social awkwardness and Penny's acting skills.... .I probably felt sympathy for Sheldon when he sincerely thanks Penny for helping him in Fun with Flags assuming that it would be the end of things....but he got stuck into social conventions...his willingness to go and see the play probably shows growth on his part.....I never thought they would actually show Penny acting in real on stage ....so no matter how small that scene was , I liked it.... and it looks like Penny's career will provide more story-lines going  forward....so looks good on that front...

I did not like Raj's stuff ......I thought Raj finally coming out as gay  would have been a much more interesting development on part of his character......now it is kind of monochrome ......cause now all the geeky guys have their GF"s to put up with...

Amy's monkey stuff was ok....but felt too repetitive...

Raj running around in his underwear is about as cheap as it gets.....

Yep, AMY is the only reason some of those sheldon and penny scenes happened. And she will still get hated on. *sigh*

also, it did tick me off how Sheldon blabbed about Penny's sex life as well for the whole world to see. Implying again that Penny is a slut.

No the reason the Penny and Sheldon scenes happened were the writers writing it that way, you know, like the other 150 some episodes they had scenes together that were flawless, and without Amy being the vehicle, you know, like the scene that actually began the show last night.

And your last comment I bolded is pathetically transparent.

Just to make sure you're dealing with reality here; you do understand that there is no delusion in Shenny shippers right? No nore than Shamy, or hell, I might start a Shelnard shippers thread rooting for love to breakout with Sheldon and Leonard.

These are not real people, nobody is trying to break up a real couple (Shamy), okay?

Mayim goes home to her kids and Jim goes home to his man of ten years.  Having fun rooting for couples to hookup on a fictional show is not all that deep for you to be trolling websites and sounding very upset and hateful.

Maybe you should, instead of rooting for Shamy to have sex,  might try and get some of your own.  Just saying, you need to loosen up a tad, dear.

ANYWAY, I liked the show last night and really like the idea of Raj and Lucy. She seems to be her own entity and is a  bit more fleshed out already as a character than Bernie and Amy's growing pains on this show.

Raj needs some loving.

Penny and Sheldon's Fun With Flags scene on the couch was the funniest scene last night and classic Sheldon and Penny chemistry. Her face when he was trying to be open and relaxed on the couch after she gave him advice , and when he spread his legs wide was hysterical.. Second best was Raj in the lobster bib and tighty whities chasing after Howard for Lucy's number.

And yes the smoking monkey stuff is over and done. Thank God that she was kicked off the study.

Oh please. She had 1 scene and she is 'fleshed out'

Ridiculous.

Amy and Bernadette injected life into this show and allowed it to expand it to where it is now.

Also, I'm sure Mayim Bialik is NOT worried about your opinion on her 'weird parenting', I bet her kids grow up to be more well adjusted than you seem to be.

you do know that Nick doesn't ship Shamy.... right? So before you start spewing up vitriol, check your facts.

oh, and the part he said about "Implying that Penny is a slut" that Nick said, he said it in the sense that it was rude of Sheldon to say those things and i agree, it was rude of Sheldon to make those comments. It made me unconfortable to see Sheldon talking to the podcast audience about Penny's sex life. Penny should have told him to stop too.

I don't see how it rude of Sheldon to make those comments...because from his point of view he was just stating facts.......

It was rude 2 weeks ago when Leonard called Sheldon a crazy bastard. From his point of view, he was just stating facts.

But it is Sheldon, it is fun with flags... he had Amy dress up like pretzel to serve his creative vision... With regard to his podcast, he is lawless.

Still rude though.

If Penny wasn't offended by Sheldon's remarks, I'm not sure why anyone here feels they ought to be offended on her behalf.

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who didn't think Amy's scenes were side-splittingly hilarious. The monkey bit's old, and I don't like over-the-top Amy. She's much funnier when she's subtle, though I wholeheartedly prefer the early version of Amy to the love-starved version we have now.
