I was wondering.. anyone else here a fan of Flight of the Conchords? I mean, the series and/or the band? It's one of my favorite series and their songs are freakin' hilarious!

I discoverd them about 3 years ago on a repeat on HBO and been a fan ever since, both of the guys but I also LOVE Mel's character (played by Kristen Schaal). There have been some rumors about a 3rd season but nothing really substancial.

Anyway, since I'm making the post, I'll leave some vids.

I love those guys. They are amazingly talented and I really hope they do another season. Although it was short and sweet and I liked how it ended. One of my favourite songs is when Murray, their band manager, gets sacked by the band. I love the combination of silly lyrics and opera. I thought it was his real voice on the first listen... is only. :icon_lol:

Although they are from New Zealand, the boys spent a lot of time here in Australia during the early years of their career. I got to meet them a couple of times during their time on the local Melbourne comedy circuit. They are awesome. I prefer them as a band as opposed to TV stars.

Wow that's pretty cool. Are they back in NZ now? I wondered what had happened to them.

Yep, they were on tour during 2012 playing live

I have a lot of friends there in NZ, mostly on Auckland (I almost moved to Auckland myself but then I didn't... obviously) and my friend Vicky went to see them live last year, while I was dying of envy. I really wanna go to NZ to visit them, and if FOTC happens to be playing I would be there in a second.

Ohh, and Moonbase, one of them, Bret McKenzie won an Oscar last year, for "Man or Muppet" the song from the Muppet's movie (the one that Jim played on the film). He was also on The Hobbit playing Lindir (but he will always be Figwit to me)

and Jemaine played Boris on Men In Black 3

I have family in NZ and I go there ever few years. Never seen the guys play though, not there or the UK. I also haven't seen The Hobbit yet. There were so many bad reviews and I'm not sure I understand why he's making 3 films of it. Just checked out Lindir and I was like :icon_eek: …I didn't recognise Bret at all. Not even in the LOTR's. He looks too clean. :icon_lol:

the beard does make a HUGE difference :) (and the long straight hair too, but it's mainly the beard). - I loved The Hobbit though. Jackson added stuff from The Silmarillion and stuff from LOTR that was left out before. And Sylvester McCoy playing Radagast was a nerdgasm.
