I liked this episode.  Simon did a great job showing the emotion that Howard was going through.  There wasn't to much funny in this episode, but I think thats ok.  Although, I didn't like that Sheldon didn't spend time with Amy at either of the dinner parties...

Really? They spend time together almost every day. Again. Sheldon/Amy is NOT Leonard/Penny or Howard/Bernadette.

Well, I must say that I absolutely hated this episode.

This is my favorite comedy on tv but tonight it was not funny.

They just had to get to Howard's PERSONAL business.  He had been struggling with

this letter from his no-good,piece of crap dad, and put it behind by burning it.

But n-o-o-o-o-h, they rest had to violate his privacy and insist on knowing what the

letter was about.   I guess its the "facebook generation" that's got to know and share

every little about others' lives.

Well, this really pi$#$@ me off.  If Howard had been me, he was cursed out the whole gang

and that wife of his would have had hell to pay.

I had to turn off the tv when Leonard (I cant stand that LITTLE smug, "thinks he a stud" jerk)

said the gang come up with a "solution" to correct the situation.

Great episode tonight, it was nice to see some backstory on Howard that the writers could expand in future episodes of TBBT, with Simon doing a great job at showing the emotion that Howard was going through in the episode, This was a pretty serious episode and it was done pretty well IMHO.

Grade: A-

I don't recall ever comparing S/A to  L/P ever.  Also, the last time I checked my opinion is my own and I don't need you validate it.

Please! More Lucy!!

The "Closet Reconfiguration" episode was up to the producers usual high standards, and the wardrobe on the girls was terrific. Sons and daughters of divorced parents may well take solace from the well written story line. We missed seeing Lucy (Kate Micucci), but we are assured she will be in the finale during May. She still hasn't been allowed to reach her stride; it must be frustrating for the young lady.

Wolowitz' career is well served by the episode, and he still enjoys the company of Bernadette. As in "the Monster Isolation", Bernadette seems to have shaken off some early-season stiffness.

I love Howard. He was one of my favorites even as a skeevy perv but he's stayed one of my favorites because Simon plays him so well. Leonard said that was a "pretty cool solution" and I agree - very nicely played by everyone, except Sheldon being an annoying distraction.  I hate when they use him that way.  He was a real dick to Amy too.  Her line about being able to spike your brain to make you feel good all the time was hilarious, I love when she talks about her work.

I don't know about Sheldon and Amy sometimes.  I can see her getting tired of the way he treats her and talks to her - human shield? 'pawing at me like a bear'? If another man with a brain and a modicum of charm shows some interest in her, I can see her leaving Sheldon.  Maybe that'll be a catalyst someday.

A nice episode, not hilarious, but sweet, and I liked the use of the whole ensemble in one storyline.  Those flow so much better.  I saw a lot of comments last week about the commercials, and I really noticed it tonight, the breaks were really long - at one point I got up to do something already thinking I was pushing it, and it was at least three more minutes. I think I managed to load the dishwasher before they came back.

The mid-break is now about 5 and a half minutes long. CBS is selling a lot of commercial time because TBBT has that golden 18-49 year old demographic group that product sellers want.

This new episode was conflicting for me.

On one hand my Shamy shipper heart was none too pleased with most of the episode. But I think the creators still think we find it amusing that Sheldon is stuck, Amy wants it. Which is not true. Aw well. You win some, lose some. I don't truly worry about them ending.

But Howard's storyline was SO sweet. I loved the group reading the letter. That was hands down, the best part of the episode. Simon is fantastic.

Leonard and Penny were adorable.

I feel like bringing in the sweeter side of the group was a really important moment. This show makes me laugh until I cry, but I love that they've given them such a human moment.

And I know the episode wasn't really ABOUT them, but Leonard and Penny took a huge step today. They threw a party together. And coming back from Bernadette and Howard's dinner, they both automatically went to her apartment. Ok, I know it's probably not a big deal, I just found it so advanced for their relationship. And I LOVED it. It is serious progress and I think this advancement will start manifesting in other ways too!!!

It was really nice to see them touch on Howard's issues with his father.  I hope one day they do an epsiode where his father comes back and really explains why he left as long as they get a great actor to play the role.   Nice to see whole gang hanging out and it was interesting to see an episode with no extra characters, though I'm surprised Raj didn't want to invite Lucy or Stuart to come with him to the dinner party.   Guess  Lucy isn't ready for being around his friends yet.

Sheldon was cute organizing stuff, but I didn't really like way he spoke to Amy in this episode or how he used her as a human shield.  :icon_rolleyes:  He is so selfish but its masked by all his quirky weirdness and he is so lucky that Amy loves him so much she puts up with it.

This wasn't that funny of an episode really, but at least it shows how much gang cares about Howard.   I went to see watch Paleyfest big bang theory panel live on big screen yesterday it was Fantastic.  Love hearing cast talk about the season and audience questions were pretty good much better than Comic Con ones.  Loved how sweet Jim and Mayim were to each other as well as Simon and Kunal were very funny together.   Melissa looked AMAZING!! :icon_mrgreen:  and Steve Molero is so adorable and sweet I'm sure touching Howard stuff in this episode must have came from him he's so good at bring emotion out of these characters.

I really enjoyed the episode tonight. :)

I didn't mind the Shamy bits, with Sheldon griping about having to hold hands, etc. I dunno, it didn't strike me as being bad, just the comic relief in a serious episode.

I loved Sheldon's pirate story and how he kept shushing Amy when she was pointing out that she had told hm his pirate story wouldn't work. Wonderfully silly and appropriate to Sheldon.

And I loved the line about pretty boys in the big city. And how when they told him they just wanted information, the way he said he told them to go ahead and ravish him. *raises hand* I will!!! :p

And I loved the battery powered chew toy... :p

The only funny line was Penny's "By dress up you mean nice clothes, not capes & tights right?"

The rest of the show just seemed like a preview for the inevitable "Howard & Bernadette" spin-off series.  They've really sacrified being funny for being cute & touching & adorable. Yuck. But most people on this forum seem OK with that.

I think Howard's dad should go away with the ashes of that letter.  What he did was unforgivable.

There are hundreds of thousands of dead beat dads out there that need to be in jail.

This is supposed to be a COMEDY ( in fact, one of the top comedies on TV).

The show doesn't need some big time star to come on and "mushy mush up" the show.

He would probably "hit on" on Penny or Howard's wife.

WOW! Thank You Big Bang Theory Team! The element of those phrases about science stuff that Sheldon gives which I thought would forever be gone is back again. It rekindled my love for the show. Those phrases I believe are directly linked to the shows title. I really appreciate the comeback of those phrases, this show is probably one of the best ways to learn or be interested in science. (it made me a fan of science)

Season 6 episodes appears to be the a time where kids become teens, teens become adults (IMHO here, kids become adults). I site to make an example that Sheldon is not that much of a germophobe as he used to, their lives are starting to move from comic filled hours to relationship debates. I sincerely wish that there would be a lot more episodes in one season, possibly 6 episodes in 1 disc, and 6 or 7 discs per season. I look forward to what the writers make in the future.

Also, hopefully they give Raj the right girl for him.

Howard actually looks a lot like the way one of the Beatles would look in the '60's. Right down to the Cuban heels and haircut. Bearnadette has a thing for black tights too.

Compared to Penny, the other girls aren't dressed up. They look normal. A plot point?

I was just thinking exactly the same thing right before reading your post. Also, a Big Beatles Fan here.
