Me too! But pure math is a bit difficult for getting the audience entertained. As I see it only applied mathematics would make some sense in the show. The audience needs at least a known topic ... or something like Sheldon's "73" --> math riddles! :)

I think it would be great to add in some math jokes. Just like the good old days when they catered to people with some physics background. Remember the "Spherical chickens in a vacuum" - a classic physics joke.

The fact that some people wouldn't understand shouldn't stand in the way of them adding in a few jokes for those who do.

I'm not sure about fighting for tenure as a theme for an episode. Such things are just so... not funny.

If only one of the friends gets to be tenured, it should be Sheldon. I'm not saying it because I like him more than other characters (well, OK, he IS my second favourite - just after Amy ;) ) but because it would be consistent with his portrayal as a complete genius devoid of social skills. It has always been implied than he's the most scientifically distinguished of the four, and a tenure, given that he's still quite young, would simply confirm it. If Raj or Leonard were to be tenured in the episode, it would gravely change the dynamics of the show, where Sheldon is the one totally immersed in science while Leonard attributes more importance to 'real life'. (Though the situation would be slightly different if Leonard or Raj won thanks to any non-intellectual factors.)

That being said, I think that no one from the group will get tenure in tomorrow's episode. Some older scientist who doesn't even know about their existence will get it instead. :)

I don't know if we're allowed to talk about it because it's part of the taping report, so technically it's a bit of a spoiler (though nothing major, I don't think.)

I understand what you mean but logically Raj, Sheldon, and Leonard being together make sense. Amy and Penny being there do not.

Well, they're not going to a meeting about the tenure issue, so the girls being there isn't exactly unexpected.

I don't remember exactly why Amy asks that specific question, but as I recall there's some dialog missing before Penny takes her jacket off.

The writers putting Penny there to support of Lenard is more than just a friendship move on Penny's part. It shows Penny might feel she has a vested interest in Lenard getting Tenure. Penny is not just trying to be nice like she does taking Sheldon to Court or Stan Lee's house etc. Penny is acting more like a wife.

I wasn't saying anything one way or another--technically both girls are there because they're the guys' girlfriends, but Leonard is hoping to use Penny to his advantage, hence the "Do it" line.

But they're not at a meeting about the tenure issue.

I know the scene. I'm just laughing because the Shamy's made the promo about Amy. I think the rest of the world noticed Penny taking off the jacket.

I think people who are fans of the shamy were simply commenting on that aspect.  What difference does it make if "the rest of the world" noticed Penny's boobs?  Those of us who are spoiled understand the context of it all and it all falls into place, including Amy and her boobs.
