Chaliceinnana Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Husband and I did the math on the Pants question. Sheldon has to have at least 12-13 pairs of pants. 8 for weekdays (needs 2 pairs of Saturday pants. Since Saturday pants get put in hamper and can't be worn the following Saturday until washed... 2 pairs) 1 Bus pants 1 or 2 pairs of dress pants. He has 2 sport coats. The one that Penny helped him buy where the pants ended up on Uranus and plaid number he stole from my father's closet in 1968. 1 pair of emergency pants for emergencies. All those pants come with their own corresponding underpants and they have microchips embedded to ensure they aren't mismatched. phantagrae Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 (edited) I'd rather watch the episodes and figure out how many different pairs I've seen. He's got those gorgeous purple-ish pants from Werewolf. The plaid pants his mother gave him that Kurt took off of him in the pilot. (did he ever get those pants back? I think I've seen them in subsequent episodes...) He's got a darker pair of plaid pants. The pants from his plaid suit. The pants from his black suit (and I presume he got those pants back as well.) Bus pants (I wonder if he ever threw them away like he thought he might...) Plain khaki pants I don't know if he was including shorts, but he's got 2 pairs of shorts (both plaid, I might add, if I recall correctly.) I wouldn't be surprised if 9 was the number of Sheldon pants Jim has in his character wardrobe. rachelshamyfan Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Yep laundry every weekend I'd rather watch the episodes and figure out how many different pairs I've seen. Tripper Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 i think he has like 109 different shirts. he has under layers and over layers! omg amy's like i have a another cardigan underneath my cardigan and sheldon has a another shirt under his shirt. 109 is probably not that far off. There are 75 Sheldon shirts in the clothing database on the main site (most aren't available to buy now, so they don't actually show up on the site). There's probably a few we don't have and then if you factor in any smarter shirts and similar, it's likely going to be over 100. I'm a litte suprised at how many different t-shirts he has worn on the show, especially considering some of the shirts have appeared in quite a few different episodes, but then he does usually wear a few different t-shirts each episode. koops Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 You know what I've just realized? In 7x01 Amy acts with Bernie pretty much the same as Sheldon does with Leonard in 7x02. These two just do. not. let. it. go. when they get pissed off by something. LOL!
notchinc Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 My favorite pants are the ones in 6x21 completing his behavior mod exercises. When he plays tictacdoe that's my favorite angle and wen he orgasms
phantagrae Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Yep laundry every weekend I'm confused I thought he was talking about his underwear (pants) american language! American language--Pants=trousers. Underpants=underwear. He says both in that scene--9 pairs of pants (trousers) and 9 pairs of underpants (underwear). I'm biting my tongue about his underpants, you know... I think I'm showing marvelous restraint.

Redrose Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 (edited) Is doing his laundry every week is considered weird ? I thought that was a normal thing. I have seasonal clothes but I think this is logic too. If the weather changes, your clothes must be adapted to the temperature, humidity, wind... Maybe the only quirky behaviour that I admit I have is that I always have to respect a predeterminate duo of colors with two exeptions that can match with 3 or 4 other colors. Like beige and red with blue only but never red with beige. And never more than 3 colors for shirt, pants and shoes included. I also have a rotation of 3 days for my pyjamas. But I don't find this rules excessive at all. Anyway, nobody cares ^^ Edited September 27, 2013 by Redrose
dana1010 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 ... I really don't understand... isn't LA suppose to be hot .. how is amy wearing all those layers. seems unrealistic. Ha a little thing that has always bugged me. It is insanely hot here! But I guess they are indoors most of the time, so ac could be the reason for all the layers. phantagrae Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I just try to make sure that I don't wear the same shirt twice in the same week... Otherwise, all my clothes pretty much go together, so I don't really have to worry about color combinations.

You know, when Sheldon was talking about his pants, we aren't really sure what kind of pants he means. Did he include his bus pants or dress pants? I am not sure he did. Previous to this, I had figured around 14 pairs (I was only thinking about it because of fanfics I have written. I promise.), mostly in one of three to four colors. I do love the microchip idea. Brilliant and so Sheldon. Edited September 27, 2013 by Misophonia
Misophonia Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Here in the UK pants are underwear and trousers are just trousers Down South (in America) we get quite particular. For example: Trousers - Dress pants usually worn to church or on special occasions. Breeches or "Britches" - Every day pants usually consisting of jeans. Pants or Jeans - Everyday trousers worn in a casual setting. Underwear - Encompasses any garments worn under regular clothing and not usually seen by the public including boxers, undies, panties, bras, slips, girdles,or panty hose. Tighty-whities or boxers - Types of male undergarments. Underpants - Is never used in the South and is a clear way to tell when someone "isn't from around here". Drawers - General, slang term usually meaning male underwear
CaitAmber Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Cait, don't you think Leonard's hair has got WORSE? lol I can't even describe my rage over the Return of Sebastian - especially since it looks worse. They must be doing this on purpose. They're trying to get Canada all riled up. STOP TOYING WITH ME, UNKNOWN HAIR STYLIST!
CaitAmber Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 .... Leonard's hair had a name? Sebastian?......... sheldon's pants and now leonard's hair.... this fandom Leonard's hair was given a name ages ago. I thought 'Sebastian' was a really good fit because it's stuffy and amusing - and matches the abomination that's on his head.

Just strap Leonard in a chair and pull out Sheldon's hair cut records. If Johnny can put it in a ponytail when he's off-camera, that hair is too dang long! It looked nice in some of the middle seasons. Edited September 28, 2013 by phantagrae

delsino Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 ugh yes i agree the longer hair is so bad on him, i think it ages poor Leonard. He looks waay older than he is with that style. Why hasn't Sheldon told him how bad he looks with longer hair LOL
phantagrae Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 So, do you think it's a Johnny thing--like he wants his hair longer?--or a show thing--that they want him to have longer hair? I think around S2 or S3 it was a nice length (I'd have to look at some photos or clips or something to be sure what season I'm thinking of) and looked nerdish, but not as if he'd been at sea for 4 months. In S1 I think he had some kind of weird blond highlights or something, but then after that his hair was really cute. Now it just looks sloppy. rachelshamyfan Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 I think its a bit like how Jim had his hair parted at the side at the back end of season 5 and early 6, I like how he has it now
bigbangsheldon Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Johnny is having a hair crisis and he doesn't even know. We will send help, doll.
phantagrae Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Yeah, but even with Jim's hair--I'm assuming that's a Hair & Make-up department decision (coming from the producers) more than Jim just saying, "I want my hair like this". I remember him talking about that time that some woman knitted a cap for him and they gave it to him at some point during the taping, but he said he didn't try it on because he "was in 'show hair'" and didn't want to mess up his hair. So, I was wondering if Johnny likes his hair longer and that's why they've gone that route or if someone in Hair & Makeup (or the producers) decided he would look better or nerdier or whatever with longer hair. I can understand it if an actor has to have different hair for some outside project, but otherwise I wonder if it's a personal preference or some combination of influences. I remember that in the Precious Fragmentation Jim's hair was really short--shorter than usual--and then, of course, we see that they had to put him in that bald cap for the dream sequence. Redrose Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Maybe johnny is trying to hide the start of a premature baldness ? Men can be very sensitive about it. I think that It's a personal choice for jim as well as the rest of the cast, as long as it doesn't change too much for the show. If not, What the hell is the purpose of the whole episode about Sheldon's haircut ?
