I got so many feels from that scene. Even knowing it was a dream I was so overcome with feels. I think I would of fainted if I had not known. Mayim was so sweet, she even appeared to have tears in her eyes. I also love the audience's reaction to the scene...lol

I got so many feels too, and I was spoiled. This episode was really strange. Good, but strange. It's weird seeing Sheldon be so self-depracating. The scenes where Howard sang to Bernie and the one with Lenny made me cry. I was mushy by the time the tag scene came, it still freaked me out. It did what it was supposed to do, and that is make me want to see the real thing. I think I'm more anxious for Sheldon to kiss Amy than I was for a boy to kiss me in real life.

The romantic line is a doozy too. I am just so full of feels from all three couples. :wub:

The way the audience gasps is exactly what you feel at that moment though...because even after being spoiled, it still came across so real.  LOL!

 

So much I loved about this episode, but the things that stick out relative to Shamy the most to me is:

 

1)  He wants to relive how he came to the success he did with Amy (even though he learned through that he was mistaken on the units)

2)  He had asked Amy to measure his mole, which is very intimate in a way and also helps remind the audience that he still treats her as his emergency contact.  He clearly didn't mind her touching him either.   If she measured it, did she have to measure others as well?  If so, was his shirt on or off?  So many feels from such a minor phrase in the episode.

3)  How he minds her at the hospital even though he is back to hating hospitals and germs.  So cute how he behaved there with her.   (And...this scene of course was such a wonderful scene in the hospital with them all singing to Bernadette...brought tears to my eyes and was so beautiful.)

4)  Seeing the little glimpse of the harp!   I am so happy to see they showed it to us.

5)  Then the way both Jim and Mayim nailed the almost-kiss segment and her delivery of "I'm in the zone" was priceless.  Perfection!

I noticed how Sheldon's voice (Jim's) dropped an octave when he said that he wanted to kiss her. It was so hot that even the "like mommies and daddies do" didn't sound childish at all.

I so agree.  Both handled the scene with perfection!

I love how when he first moves toward her, she leans back slightly, like a timid Amy, afraid of it really happening.  It was so well done.   Perfection!

This episode turned out SO much better than expected. I can't believe the most romantic episode of the entire series was SO heavy with science! And boy even being spoiled with that scene it was ..... omg! Delsino, this also was the scene that made me decide to go unspoiled, I don't know what I would have done had I not seen it coming.

Star, your list pretty much sums up my feelings, I found the mole thing particularly intriguing! I am assuming she would have had to do that with his shirt off? And the fact that he would ask her to do it and not his roommate is very interesting too.

 

Mayim totally nailed the daydream scene. The thing I absolutely love about her acting is that she is so good with her voice and that "Oh, Sheldon" was just incredibly delivered. I also don't know how the hell she manages to blush on command because she's definitely blushing a little on the couch.

 

I thought I'd be annoyed at the daydream but it actually came across much much better than I thought. Thumbs up all around. 

 

eta: btw, LOVED that Shamy were working together in Amy's daydream. She's reading a journal and he's working on his table. I swear to Cod that if this is a "spoiler alert" for the set up of the SIK I'm going to die and go to heaven. There's nothing that gets me more excited than Shamy working together.

 

eta2: Have you guys noticed that the second time that Howard sings "Ever since I met you you turned my world around" the camera pans to Shamy? 

 

eta3: I know they probably didn't mean it this way, but I was thinking that the whole tree-fort thing could be a metaphor for "Amy and Sheldon, sittin' in a treeeee"

Oh Gosh, I sqee'd so hard for most of this episode. Lenny was adorable, Howard's song was just...ugh I was sort of expecting it to be a bit crap and cheesy but it made my heart melt. But this is the shamy thread so I'll move on swiftly .

 

The way Jim delivered his romantic line in the hotel lobby was so much cuter than I thought it was going to be, he sounded like he was genuinely wooed by her. It reminded me of when Mayim delivers her "that's so romantic." and other such lines when Sheldon does something totally quirky and shamy-like. I loved this reversal and just their general dynamic so much! And the way they react to these things like their significant other just did something totally normal and romantically traditional is the best. They don't say things like  "That was oddly cute." or "That was weird but I liked it." It's just "That's the most romantic thing I've ever heard!" lol. I'm not even going to start gushing about how Sheldon went from "That's the most pragmatic thing I've ever heard" to "That's the most romantic thing I've ever heard." because it's been done already and I'll be here forever.

 

I'll admit I was a little sad that Amy didn't make the cut into Sheldon's tree fortress at the start but then when I found out it was just used so Sheldon could invite her in when she blew him away with her romance I was relieved haha. Oh and there was the fact that Sheldon called Amy Dr Fowler again....I do rather enjoy it

 

The final scene though...it was almost as if I'd had a total blackout and forgot what was in the taping report. I gasped really loud and my sister burst into my room asking if I was okay. I agree with koops that it was better than expected, I thought it might just be some eye candy but it was more than that. It showed a very genuine reaction from Amy that I found adorable. I mean this is such a new and exciting but also a little terrifying at the same time experience for her, even if it is a dream. I like the way she breathes harder and harder the closer he gets to her face and ties in quite nicely to the way the audience was reacting too, It's like "Oh cod oh cod oh cod OH COD!!" lol! It's safe to say the real kiss is gonna kick my ass so hard, no matter what the circumstances....

I am re-watching that scene and I'm STILL holding my breath. Majim really turned it on in that scene! 

 

I just noticed a couple of things. I got excited that Shamy were working in Amy's fantasy when they're on the couch, which really made me so happy because it means that's a regular occurrence. But I also realized how symbolic the whole setup is in terms of showing how naive and inexperienced Amy is underneath it all. Not only because of how she imagines herself reacting to him making a move (which is very consistent with how she reacted in 6x23), but because it's a very teenage-y set up for a kiss: it's like they're doing homework on the couch. Her wildest fantasies include a scenario where "OMC a boy is kissing me while we do our homework and we're alone on his couch". Definitely not the kind of fantasies a lot of her detractors would expect her to have, given how 'sex-crazed' she's perceived to be.

Boy, how that episode was magic. I'm so covered with Shamy feels I can barely write any recognizable language right now. The tag scene was just too much to handle. I know the writers are leading us to real SIK! I'm happy going unspoiled for the episodes after this one, this was the last one I was spoiled for.

I can only hope that when the kiss comes they are not going to downplay Sheldon's intentions/charm, because it's going to be one hell of a letdown after a scene like this. That's the only thing I really ask out of it. I don't care how it happens or where it happens, so long as it is clear Sheldon is making a very intentional move based on attraction and affection. Enough pussyfooting around the issue. 

 

I do think this scene was totally a way to 1) show the audience that "See? Sheldon making a move looks very natural by now, doesn't it?" and 2) notice how the reactions all over the place online seem to be "OMC I THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO KISS HER!!!" rather than "Ewwww, Sheldon doesn't kiss girls". They'd better be leading up to something, or there'll be a LOT of angry people pretty soon.

Tell me about it, besides a few Shenny fans and purists, the reaction has been positive and kind of hilarious to follow on Twitter. Here are some samples of what I found:

There was also another comment complaining about how they were happy that a kiss was going to happen but disappointed when it didn't.

 

Anyways, haha, it's fun to read these comments. Also, just going by twitter the ratio of positive versus negative comments to the scene is like 50:1. So if that was their intention koops, they've definitely succeeded.
