stardustmelody Posted December 26, 2013 Share Posted December 26, 2013 Ow I think it's pretty clear Sheldon does things to meet Amy half way, that he wouldn't do for others. The problem (for me atleast) is that he wasn't scared of actually touch her in s5 and s6, and in s7 so far we have gotten next to nothing. So we can only hope these things are still happening ofscreen. That is the problem, we want them on-screen, not just off-screen. It is fine that they have said something there, but then when Sheldon still acts like a stiff board around her, it is frustrating. We want to see that if these things are happening off-screen that he is relaxing more and more around her and touching her more and more as a result of the off-screen activity. We need to see evidence on-screen that he is starting to not only let it not bother him, but that he is actually learning to enjoy her touch and touching her. Sigh, it is sweet and all, but don't continually keep everything off-screen. It isn't fair to viewers. We are invested in this couple and deserve to see that there is some progress other than verbally telling us there is some. Show us, dang it! I just ment that even though we aren't getting much/any touching onscreen, I am glad that they let Sheldon say they do get "physical" offscreen. I didn't realize how much it was part of my working day. I was just telling my mother about my spoiler free decision and tears just welled up in my eyes. I got it the spoiler bug bad. Thanks to everyone who investigates the internet to find such wonderful and reliable information. I'm so excited about the next 3 episodes. Time to break the habit! Bella Duveen Posted January 15, 2014 Share Posted January 15, 2014 Hi, can I just say I have fallen in love with this relationship - I so want them to get together properly as they are clearly right for each other. I get that something big is about to happen but stopped myself looking any further (although we will have a longer wait in England!) I think Amy is the exception to probably all Sheldon's rules, and that he wants/needs her enough for his issues not to matter - at least not with her. For all the other, not so nice, things he has said to her, I get the feeling that he's been chasing her from the start, even though he wouldn't admit it and tries not to let it show. Amy didn't want any kind of intimacy when they met because she didn't know him then - she hadn't yet fallen for him but he was fascinated with her, and probably the one who called, texted and Skyped her first. Do they acually mention it on the show at some point ive missed? Or has some fans comed up with it? Has he been chasing her since the day they met in the cafe? I think he made sure to get all her contact details to be sure to keep in touch with her from the start - something must have prompted him to ensure that she didn't get away. Maybe too, her initial declaration of not being interested in any form of intimacy actually did two things - first, it took the pressure off him, which was a relief, but I think was also a challenge. Part of him, obviously unconsciously, thought "Oh really? We'll see about that." I can't say exactly when Amy fell for him - just that she'd determinded to get him by the time she devised her little experiments with the Mario music, etc. On another, related, point - there's a scene where Sheldon has been thrown out of the apartment so Leonard can get alone time with Leslie Winkle and he's reduced to playing Mario Kart on the stairs, and says something like "Even you've got Princess Peach", maybe wishing, if just in that moment, for a special lady of his own? Maybe not romantic love from that first meeting in the cafe, but they did know how well they got along, especially compared to other people they had met. Just look to the Zazzy episode (4x03) Sheldon was in his own way freaking out after they decided to stop seeing each other. Amy probably was the first one to realize she loved Sheldon, simply because she always have considered it a possibility, Sheldon just took some more time to start realizing it. Not that she acts much on it, would you blame her though? At what point she fell for him I don't know. I would guess nearer the end of season 4 start of 5. As for Sheldon. I think he does love her. And in the beginning of s5 she is determed to make Sheldon hers. Its so obvious in ep3 of s5.
