dana1010
I watched the Tenure Turblence earlier today. I love the end when Sheldon asks for Amy's opinion on what she thinks he should do. The episode has some questionable Shamy moments, but that moment sticks out for me. Sheldon wants to know Amy's opinion. How often does Sheldon want to know anyone's opinion? I adore the fact that he thinks so highly of her.

Recently I rewatched that scene when Sheldon asks Raj if he implies that his girlfriend doesn't have a sexuality to exploit. I read that quote somewhere and I wanted to remember how the line was delivered. I regreted really. But you are right in what you're saying so maybe I don't dislike that ep too much Thanks
Chiany
There are so many moments where Sheldon does something with Amy he would never do with other peoples. Just like in "the Herb garden" episode, who would ever think to participate in a scientific episode with someone else, and like their imput as equal (just look back to the time Leonard wanted to do a presentation about a paper they wrote together). Or when he called Howard and Leonard tools in the Disney episode, but called Amy (and Bernadette) for help and called them Brilliant scientists or something. Bella Duveen
"Don't just stand there, get your breasts out!" - something on your mind, Shelly?
Cherry
Oh my, that whole scene cracks me up, one of my favourites so far. As for Sheld'ons " breasts out " line, I don't think there is anything sexual going in his mind, he's competing with Leonard, Leonard is planning to use Penny's body to reach his goal, he thinks it's OK to do the same with Amy. The same with " Amy's lack of sexuality", the way he says it you should think that he's just looking for the confirmation of what Raj was implying, but the whole " mother " talk ( to call that that way ) is meant to insult Raj as he insulted Amy. In other words, he's defending Amy.
Chiany
In other words, he's defending Amy. Yep, that's how I always see it too. In a completely strange, but true Sheldon way, he means it as a way to defend Amy and the way others see her (based on Raj's comment) Edited February 4, 2014 by Chiany
Cecilia
He may is defending her and I don't question that but his response to Raj when he says he is implying Amy has no sexuality and the line "take your breasts out" lines bug the hell out of me... Frieda Rainstorm
Those are under my favorites lines, too. And as much as I think, Sheldon intended nothing sexual towards Amy just in the moment, I feel like it was very important, cause it points out, that he's moving forward in his development, having sexual content lines, not just about intercourse in general, but regarding Amy. Jamie
That tenure episode really has some crazy ups and downs with Shamy. One second I love it, and the other I hate it! But that scene outside the memorial has some really great homour in it. Even though Sheldon saying stuff like "Screw it I'm going in was what I said to your mother last night" makes me reeeally uncomfortable for some reason. And I really don't like when he claryfies to Amy that "sexual intercourse isn't something he's interested in". For me that was a writing mistake. I don't believe the writers intension there was to tell us that sex is never gonna happen, even though that really is what is being told. They simply had Sheldon say that so Amy can say her punchline about "I should have taken my breasts out when I had the chance". So yes, it was a mistake.. especially since just a few episodes before Sheldon has stated that coitus is a possibility. So all that hope and exitement that was built up among the viewers was sort of let down a bit just because of that line in tenure episode, which was simply there just to get to a joke. Chiany
Hmm some how that episode (the Tenure one) never bothered me that much. Same goes for the lines said from Sheldon, as you said Jaime, they were just a setup for Amy's punch line, and therefor shouldn't be taken litterally imho. But I can see what you mean, I just try not take every line seriously, and try to see it in the context of the scene.
Frieda Rainstorm
when he claryfies to Amy that "sexual intercourse isn't something he's interested in" I think he said it because he got used to say so, and he wouldn't admit the opposite in this kind of situation with all the crowd around him. So this line doesn't bother me ^^

I think this is a tough one, in the scene with Amy, he is willing to comfort her even when he needs to step outside his comfort zone. So maybe a bit, but he also was serious about the time he lost on his projects.

Thank you for your answers... {YAY it's my 400th post ahah}I think this is one of those scenes where you as a viewer can choose what to believe. If you prefer to think of this as Sheldon being Sheldon and whats upsets him is the fact that he loses his lego fun time, then so be it. If you like to think that the reason he is yelling is because of Amy then that works too. The scene is, from my pov, written in the way that it will satisfy both groups. And ofcourse you can choose to believe that both of those factors is the outcome to his anger. This is the one i'm leaning at. He could've just ignored her, but instead he tried to comfort her the best way Sheldon can comfort anyone. He may have tried to look like it was for his own selfish reasons, but he was genuinely concerned. Sheldon is very much a man in denial. It's very hard for him to admit he changed his mind or that he was wrong about anything. He was wrong about being sexually interested in Amy, he was wrong about love, but it's not gonna be that simple for him to just start showing. He's going to continue denying it. I don't think Amy knows about the conversation he had with Penny and Leonard or about the little lie he told Kripke. I'm pretty sure it won't be talked about again. I just wish they stopped with the offscreen Shamy. We get so little moments as it is. Edited February 4, 2014 by pisquenta

It's also on how you interpret things. In this scene I like to think that Sheldon wants her to be happy and that's why he said "if it makes you happy that other stuff to". He was clueless as to why he would need to bring her, but in the end he wants to make her happy. I also adore the little smile Amy gives him as the scene ends. Rama
Ok thank you for your answers. Every time I watched this episode I'm wondered if Sheldon was angry because he cared about Amy. I like that idea he was defending her but in his particular way. Anyway, thanks

Chiany
What I loved most about the SIK scene besides the kiss, was how perfectly Mayim acted with her hands. At first caught off guard, holding them down. Then she moves them up to grab his face or something and freezes halfway through. Just wow. dana1010
First of all thank you Chiany for posting here. Second, I agree about the hands part. Amy's hands are just awkwardly there by her side, but oh man Sheldon grabs her waist. I just can't get over that. He actually pulls her in closer. Third, I can't believe they filmed a new tag scene. That was a pleasant surprise.

FrenchBBTfan
I've just finally watched it... That was sincerely the cutest moment I have ever watched on television. Ever. Jim absolutely nailed it. The vulnerability in his voice afterwards. And Mayim too. Beautiful, precious moment. dana1010
Thought I would let you know that you guys are destroying the Shamy Spoiler thread.
