Ship Zone The Shamy Thread, Season 7 [Spoiler Free]

I am too feeling a bit sad/discouraged/left in doubt/pick a word on why they didn't mention the EC thing or the D&D game - especially the second, it unwillingly leaves the taste of bandage in my mouth (wow, that was a weirdly phrased sentence, I'm sorry ) considering what happened in the second half of S6 and la di da. It IS a big deal - I mean, we could endlessly discuss on how it went down, but Molaro did confirm they consummed the relationship via D&D there. They were looking each other straight in the eyes as they described actions... I'm still left with this weird sense of intruding into someone else's life when I watch that scene because it was very intimate. Doesn't matter that they didn't touch, things were said - and what things.

I am not holding onto the hope of ever seeing it mentioned again anymore, but I feel like it is a wasted opportunity. I, for one, will always count that time as their first time. I can imagine them alone in that room, vulnerable but willing to try. They chose to not follow that up in S7, but I do find it strange because of the importance of the act. Guess we'll just have to apply headcanons, each to their own.

The way I always see that episode is from when Sheldon said he had not ruled out intimacy to Amy, then he kind of in a clumsy way showed Amy that in 7'15 only 16 episodes later

No remember she saw him drunk in the Thanksgiving episode.

 

And I know I was sad about how little Amy was in it. When I was at the taping, she wasn't even in a taped scene until the second half because the hair cut scene was pre-taped.

I know it's out of topic but i wanna say i never seen  HYMYM complete episode, and i saw the final. That's was horrible and disappointed. Really sorry for real fans you deserve best.

But did you at least enjoy Amy putting Sheldon to bed drunk and pondering if he wound up without a shirt before or after she left? Also did you enjoy how he immediately wanted to call her the next morning to apologize? It wasn't the best episode, but it had its moments.

 

 

I know 2 weeks is going to be a long time, but on the bright side, it is our last break! After this we get 4 new episodes in a row!!!

Oh I enjoyed moments, like her guiding him to the bedroom, but they could have shown for example if she actually helps him in bed or not. It felt to me unfinished.

It was sweet he worried (and wanting to call her) about Amy, but once again, they could have done so much more with it.

I know I wished they would have shown her putting him to bed. At the taping, after they filmed her take him to his room, the comedian said that we were going to be doing another scene in Sheldon's bedroom. I got really really excited and was like oh yes, please yes, I NEED to see Amy put him to bed! Then of course we got the geology scene. In the moment I was about 50-50 on whether or not Amy was in the bed with him. I am 100% happy she was not in the bed with him, but it would have been nice to see a little more with what happened behind closed doors. There's a small chance it might be brought up in the next episode, but I highly doubt it.

 

Also a sweet thought occurred to me when I remembered Sheldon took care of Amy when she was drunk in season 4 and now Amy was returning the favor.

It did bug me too that 6x23 didn't get a real follow up in this season, at least not untill now.

But we are finally getting what we expected, no real point in keep looking back imho.

 

To slightly change the topic, after rewatching this last episode again, I wonder what happened in Sheldon's bedroom after Amy carried him there.

We see Sheldon stumbling in very drunk, and Amy following him in.

 

Next we see Sheldon (presumably) naked waking up.

Did Amy undress him, since he most likely couldn't have managed that himself?

My guess is that Amy undressed him and put him to bed, also I think they may of had a kiss and Amy may of stayed for a while before leaving

Yes thanks for asking, I'd been pondering about it for a couple weeks.

 

I'm wondering if Sheldon might start to panic at the thought of losing Amy. He probably felt like String Theory would always be a part of him and now he has had to deal with losing it. He might translate those feelings of loss and do something to try and keep Amy with him. I'm cautious and fearful of Amy's line in this episode, "I hope he is this distraught if he ever breaks up with me". I'm happy that the line says "if he ever" because it shows me that Amy has no intention of breaking up with him. At the same time though, I can't help but think of Amy panicking because of more Sheldon physical contact in the finale. What does everyone else think about Amy's line? When I first watched the episode, I was proud of myself for remembering the line correctly in the spoiler thread for having "if he ever". On the second time I watched the episode, I heard the line and immediately started to think if it was foreshadowing something in the future.

For me it was just the other way around.

The 1st time I thought it was a clue of things to come (might still be), but after the 2nd time watching it, I realized it showed to me that Amy would still want Sheldon to be "ok" after the break-up.

But I see the Shamy finale be either some big in a good way, or a bad way (aka break-up or being apart for longer time).

That may have just given me a heart attack, lol. The only catastrophic finale for me is Mayim leaving the show and I don't see that happening, so I think I'm good with that. Agree with the heartbreaking and jubilation ones. I normally don't cry watching the show so I would add ILY to jubilation and Amy freaks to heartbreaking. I have faith in the writers that they have set up the season very well and have a planned ending that they have thought about since at least midway through season 7. Whether or not that is a happy or sad ending remains to be seen.
