Spoilers Leonard And Penny Season 7 *spoiler* Discussion Thread

The one time he apparently paid her rent he made a point of saying it was money she owed him (in front of Raj and Howard, so he definitely meant it), and considering how hellbent she was to pay Sheldon back, I'd say she probably got it back to him. 

 

I wished she had turned down the car as well. I don't like this storyline one bit. 

 

Well Penny could always borrow the money from Sheldon.      Since both are dreamers and understand each other so much.  

 

 

eta:  I can't believe her bestie Sheldon didn't offer to help get the car fixed after all she was driving him around, so he could do some errands.

One question: Why are you still here? It does look like you hate Leonard and Penny, so this is definetly the wrong place... You should work harder on your interpreting skills because they are extremely awful! You should also have a look on the Shenny thread. It's full of people like you!

 

I bet you were never in a relationship because you don't understand a SINGLE THING what happens to Leonard and Penny. Not even the smallest thing! How is that possible?! Please do me (and many others) a favor and never visit this thread again. It just hurts my eyes when I read your bullshit.

 I made sure, and made edits to posts, to let everyone know that the appreciation thread is not the place to denigrate any thread where people can freely make comments, good, bad, or neutral, about the relationship.  How about you do the same.  State your opinion of the relationship, but don't get derogatory about other threads.

What is "THIS"?   If my wife had a serious problem like being an alcoholic, I would not tease her about it, especially in front of other people.   Couples in a good relationship don't do that.   You feel bad for my wife?  Fortunately I don't have to return the feelings since obviously there is no one to feel sorry for unless it's your cat.

Leonard wouldn't either. The fact that he teases her about it is only evidence to the fact that she isn't an alcoholic. Because if she were, he wouldn't address it in a teasing and public manner.  I've seen alcoholism, and deeply envy those ignorant enough to even begin to consider Penny as such. She's a social drinker, like a lot of twenty-somethings. 

 

If she were a alcoholic, what would that make Raj? Because he was completely dependent on it for over six years. But there's no point wondering, because it's a sitcom that was written to be funny.

When Penny borrowed from Sheldon before Leonard and Penny weren't a couple. It would look funny even if he did offer since they are a couple now. It also makes Leonard the hero since he does buy her the car. I would think you would love that.

Joining in generally, L has rescued P again apparently. A gift freely given and perhaps assuaging any guilt about not being 100% behind her before. Who knows what the quid pro quo is, but this time P sees that L has her back, unlike when he rescued her treasure from Kurt. He can afford it too, so why not. He wants her to succeed. Money is just a tool here. AND if her gamble pays off she can buy him a Tesla Model S.

That's the thing, money is not that important to him, especially when it comes to helping Penny or making her happy.

Tell me now romantic it is that Penny and Leonard decided to go get something to eat before they learned whether or not Raj's dog was going to die as a result of their negligence. What's next, gong to call me a "big poopy head"? Did you learn your logic in from a ten year old?

With respect, umm, the dog was already in care. They could not have any impact on the outcome for the animal and they had no emotional attachment to it anyway. So they could feel bad and still eat. Nothing would be served by beating themselves up after the event. But if they were beating themselves up, they could support each other with kind words over a meal.

Yup, it has now been stated outright that they are the most successful couple on the show, and that Ran knows. If only that meant that all the nonsensical talk of them being miserable and Penny getting ready to bail because he hasn't moved in would finally stop.

We get Drama with those two career changing episodes with Penny and now they seem to be getting closer, they don't seem to really fight now, they work together (last episode), a very supportive car episode (Thursdays episode), now an "aww" scene where the are reminded how great they are together while talking about their future. We also know, coming up, the Proton episode they talk about proposals a lot. Is this leading to something big at the end of the season? ??

Well, I hope so! And I totally agree with everything! They seem to get along better since their serious talk in 7.13! SO EXCITED FOR THE CAR SCENE, I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I kept wondering why all of a sudden Kaley was out doing interviews and shipping Lenny hard?  Nothing that had played out on screen called for interviews for the couple as nothing was really happening --- I do wonder if someone keeps track of the mood for fans online.  It's like someone is reading our posts and bang we start getting some nice L/P moments.

The last two episodes have reinvigorated my love of the show. I am glad to hear that others think that there has been a shift in the writing away from drama to closeness in Lenny. I've enjoyed rewatching the last two quite a bit. They seems to be very close now, both to each other and to a next step in the relationship.

I think the biggest clue was the proton episode that will probably be shown May 1. Things had to get better to reach that point and thus nothing really bad happened in between.
