What Does S7 Need To Have To Make You Happy?

An earlier start?

But seriously, I would like them to retool again for the last act (the final 3 seasons). They can explore, not imperil the relationships and go hard at the comedy. I have no idea how they would execute on that. Hahaha. Maybe introduce some undergrad or graduate students again too. Bring on the relatives too.

Eta . I forgot. Penny or Leonard vacuuming!!!

Dear fellow antipodean (I presume?) - what the devil is this vacuum business? I have seen you reference it thrice, thus far. It is niggling at me.

Also, yes to the relatives, bring the buggers on!

It relates to an old, fierce argument about Penny being stupid, slattern and sloven. The two former accusations have been addressed fairly well ( she's a mature student now and who cares about an individual's consensual adult sexual behaviour; see Tensor's ff for the full rebuttal) but we haven't seen her clean up - Raj made this point once.

I got hung up on it. Its a ludicrous point for declaring a relationship unworkable, compared to the other obstacles they face. TPTB did put an upright vacuum cleaner in Howards closet, so I know they heard me. (joking). But when Penny vacuums, the three legged stool upon which the argument rested is complete demolished.

And its just silly, as much else is.

One of the subtle changes we saw at the end of season 6 is a more domesticated Penny. Her apartment no longer looks like a war zone as we saw in season 1 and 2. And more importantly, she regularly prepares meals for Leonard. Granted, its usually a salad or spaghetti but she is becoming more traditionally "wife like".   We even saw her preparing "snap" beans in the "Tenure" episode where she acted most like a wife, some would say too much like a compliant "little woman".

Seeing her vacuum would show she has answered Raj's request from "The Zazzy Substitution" but outwardly she's seems to have changed from her former bad housekeeping habits. She should continue this course in season 7.

Sigh. I rather enjoy her terrible housekeeping...And I don't know what "snap" beans are, but they sound ghastly and soulless.

deriding her housekeeping abilities is the ludicrous thing. To have her vacuuming is ludicrous too. If and Leonard set up house they would contract out such domestic chores because they would have the resources to pay for it AND not the time to do it themselves. Leonard IRL would not be so impoverishes and Penny would be studying and working and auditioning. She can be as untidy as she likes anyway. Its just a dodgy complaint from some classist, which deserved an as ludicrous response.

and I think snap beans are just what we in Oz would call green beans or string beans. But they seem to have bred out the strings. I can't speak for their soulful qualities, but I'd hazard a guess that you want okra for that. Though okra may not be a bean. IDK.

I don't understand your aversion to green vegetables or legumes but that's ok. Hehehe.

I think they share the duty. Leonard was cooking while she was top and tailing the beans. It would be boring if they ever made assignment of domestic chores a joke Very c20.

She just getting older and changing her priorities. At some point many appreciate tidiness and not living like a teenager. But it was always just part of the contrast.

I do look forward to the conversation where she says " I had an essay to write, but I cleaned the bathroom instead". Hehehe.

BRED OUT THE STRINGS? You'll be wanting seedless watermelon and square tomatoes next. Careful now. Reminds me of that Father Ted episode where Mrs Doyle is presented with a machine that takes the misery out of making tea. "What if I LIKE the misery?"

Yes, it is a ludicrous complaint, and from someone who sounds like they're stuck in the fifties.

Who the devil complains about Penny anyhow? As Amy said regarding Leonard's Bug Report; "Hair too golden? Laugh too musical? World too much a better place for her mere presence in it?"

Don't talk to me about okra.

We need to see some progress in the L/P relationship. L/P need to move in together, I don't really care where just to show some progress, and get Leonard away from Sheldon. There's a lot of comedy to be had just watching Sheldon trying to cope by himself.

Just saw the episode about Sheldon & Amy's first date with Penny chaperoning. They were SOOOO much funnier as the robot couple than whatever the heck they are now.  I want to see more of that.

The ''robot couple'' of the Shamy set them apart from the other relationships. I liked it much better too when coitus was still ''off the table'' for those two.

I don't feel the writers handled the Shamy very well at all after season 4.

It would be funny if they got into the science of coitus and orgasm a bit more.

Like having Amy explain to Sheldon that orgasms are great for a woman's overall heart health, this has eben proven that women who are more sexually active over 40 are less likely to have heart attacks, and that women over 30 should take damiana leaves to make sure they are producing enough testosterone rather than complain about vaginal dryness.  See the show could educate as well as entertain.

Leonard is gone for several episodes. Everyone else (especially Amy, but also Penny) has to take the full brunt of dealing with Sheldon. Sheldon either grows up a little or becomes more grateful to Leonard for subsidizing his nuttiness.

Penny has some kind of career development. Either in acting or school.

Howardette has some actual bumps in the road, some real challenges to them as a couple. I hope no kids for awhile.

Raj- I don't like how they magically ended his mutism in the finale, but let him progress realistically somehow. He stays with Lucy awhile, at least until his below-the-surface arrogance reveals him to be a jerk.

Like someone above, I want Leonard (not Sheldon) to at least get nominated for a Nobel prize.

Sheldon's career goes into the tank, at least long enough for him to be humbled.

Beverly somehow gets comeuppance for her horrible horrible mothering.

Amy and Bernadette actually start talking and maybe working together in their mutual field of biology. It drives me nuts that they never talk science together like the guys do. Establish a significant rivalry between the ladies' biology and the mens' physics.

I would really like them to put Penny in the apartment with the guys for a little bit, while, for some reason, she can't stay in her apartment, to see how it works out for the show.

I'd like Penny to get a couple acting jobs, like commercials or maybe a reacurring part in a TV drama and then after about six episodes, her character gets killed off and she comes crying to Leonard.  But no stardoom, so she still a struggling actress.

I like some more games with all of them, playing.

I really want all of them out playing paintball, even Alex, who is killed by friendly fire, which everyone knows is Penny.

I'd like Raj to show up at every takeout dinner night with a different horrible girl that the other girls hate.

Leonard and Penny need to have a vacation together. The poor girl just works and works, and he's been away in a perhaps soggy floating lab.. Let them go somewhere hot. Life's too short. Leonard can catch some funny tropical disease. Penny can hilariously misbehave in some amorous fashion a la Mike and Subway, the fast food franchise. And they can both have comical tan lines. It can happen off screen.

definetly the show needs a J.J. Abrams style reboot get in new writers, about the same age as characters(little older), and funny! be more experimental!  Make sure gender balance in writing team, and that an Indian writer is included.

Not only should L/P vacation together, they should do it at the end of his tour on the boat by having Penny go to Europe to meet Leonard.

I had this same thought about Penny joining Leonard at the end of his trip in Europe to make up for the Switzerland VD trip.  I know it won't happen, though it would be nice for them to vacation together and only them.

Amy and Barry also need to meet, because I will not be a happy viewer until I hear him say "Amy Fawwah Fowwer".

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is too funny!!!!!!!! That has to be on the show!!!!! That is comedic gold!    :icon_biggrin:

Yes, and since they are both just reciting things they read in books, Sheldon could tell Amy that a woman's orgasm is a myth, and that in the "unlikely" case it exists it's not at all important, because he's reading outdated texts. That would infuriate Amy (and any sane person) but could lead to a lot of comedy.

Things I wish to see in S7

0) Penny and Sheldon's reaction to Leonard being gone and we see Leonard on the boat (getting seasick) and meet some of his "pals" on the ship.   I would love it if Sheldon actually functioned better than everyone expects and he becomes more independent.  I would also like Penny to be moping about missing Leonard, but at the same time deciding to take the time to really focus on her career and she lands a recurring or supporting role on a web series or something that gives her success.  She too becomes a bit more independent and will have more to offer Leonard when he returns because she won't be so focused on needing him to keep her happy.

1) Bring back Mary and Beverly (if possible) and more family interactions

2) Bring Amy's story into play.  What is her family really?  We know nothing other than her mother and a few crazy cousins.  But we don't know anything of her father (is he dead, alive, sperm donor?) or if she has siblings.  Most of us think she doesn't but that may not be the case.  Ideally it would open up tons of storyline possibilities if it ends up Amy's father and Howard's were one and the same man.

3) SIK or at least a good Shamy kiss and I am with Koops..it needs to be during November sweeps.  We have had enough of lack of affection going on between those two.   I am not saying makeout sessions or a big change, but at least some encouragement that Sheldon wants to get there with Amy.

4) I agree with Vasu...no more pushing by Amy/Leonard, no more resisting by Sheldon/Penny.   Show us that Penny is invested in her relationship with Leonard (which was started last season) and Sheldon is invested in his relationship with Amy (as he started to do in D&D).   He has shown affection to others, so Amy deserves to have some affection. No more of this "resisting" nonsense.

5) More science and general shenanigans.  I want to see more Shamy experiments, more of the guys making stuff as well.

6) A group road-trip would be wonderful.   Similar to Love Car Displacement, but with surprising outcomes and circumstances.

7) Loved the suggestion (sorry I can't remember who made it) about Leonard going with Penny to Nebraska and they end up doing a cow-tipping.  That would be hilarious.

8) Would love to see Amy go to Texas and meet Meemaw, George Jr, Missy.

9) Would like to see Raj start a side party planning business (since he loves it so much) and see him get really big with A-listers for party planning.  While he is the man about town because of it, it still means he may not be able to find girls.  I can see him carrying Cinnamon to with him around to all the events.

10) I miss Howard and Raj working together on things so would like to see more of that.  Perhaps the two of them make a major break through that makes them heroes with NASA.

11) Leonard get tenure and this puts Sheldon out of sorts.

12) Sheldon, after Leonard gets tenure, actually ends up with a huge success which finally brings him out of his funk of losing tenure position.

13) More Barry and Wil.   Love to have both of them on the show.

Read the writers well probably not be adapting and progressing Penny's acting career, they said it is a bit more realistic a pretty blond girl next door struggling as an actress and working as an waitress. They diddn't rule it out adapting on the play which showed Penny can act, but theirs no guarentees. And I woulden't say their was no Science in S6, The Final Frontier Ep and the Dungens Ep e.t.c. And I don't agree it has gone down hill since S3, although I agree to a certain degree, S4 was ruined by Pria and Penny and Raj in the finalie. S6 was the season where the show showed alot of progression in the characters maturity, Penny becoming more assured in her relationship with Leonard, Sheldon becoming more humanised and social. It's true the show has become alot more social orientated since S3 and alot less Science, but I think that change was neccessary for the show to keep evolving, I think the show has 3 or 4 years left in it. What I want from S7 is bringing the fun back, S6 felt alot more like drama at times, alot less laugh out loud moments. Maybe see the guys Sheldon, Howard, and Raj have a gaming night?? Or going to comic con, paintball e.t.c. I understand the shows evolving, but it would be nice to have a balance in S7.
