stardustmelody Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Sheldon isn't going to help with a proposal. First off, he could never keep that kind of a secret. Second, the show, as much as Lenny fans want a proposal, are more likely to have Lenny move in together instead. A proposal is much too early in the grand scheme of the whole series. It won't happen this season. So he won't be helping out with arranging a proposal. Sheldon is on vacation (forced day off), but why he is running errands with Penny is still a mystery. We will find out soon. Dana is writing up more.
BangerMain Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) Brian Posehn the man after Amy . Brian Posehn is actually reprising the role of Bert. He was the creepy "giant" in the library trying to insert himself into the Raj/Lucy texting date in 6.18. According to IMDB the character's name was Bert. Popular Post dana1010 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 First off let me say that I’m posting this as a huge thank you to everyone who reads spoilers and doesn’t post them in the spoiler free section. It’s the main reason I love this site. Also it’s easier for me to think about the episode from each story line so I broke it down into the three separate story lines and wrote about each scene. So the whole story is not in the right order. Everything in quotes is probably not the exact quote, because I don’t remember them exactly. The episode is very funny and there are plenty of funny moments that are not included in here because I’m not sure how to explain them in words. You kind of have to see it. Finally I might be confusing some of the Lenny stuff with the previous episode because they aired that one right before they taped this one. Sheldon/Penny/Leonard First scene: Sheldon and Leonard are walking up the stairs. Sheldon says it’s not fair and that the university is conspiring against him. Leonard says all they are doing is making you take a vacation and he has more important things on his mind such as his relationship with Penny. When they reach the fourth floor, Leonard goes over to talk to Penny. Penny says look I’m glad you’re here and you did the right thing last night. (Presumably talking about the night before when she proposed while drunk). Penny says they are still together and Leonard is so happy he starts to cry a little. Penny says she realizes that in order for her acting career to go anywhere she’s thinking about quitting The Cheesecake Factory. Leonard says something like “before we make any decisions, let’s think about this…..” and Penny says “I quit yesterday”. Leonard says that’s great and gives her a hug. He has a I don’t think this is a good idea look on his face and the scene ends. Second scene: Leonard is leaving for work and Sheldon tries to get him to take him with him. Sheldon says “what if there is a big break through with science today and I’m not there to see it”, Leonard says “Do you really think a big break through would happen with you not there?”. Sheldon says “no I was just kidding”. Sheldon then proceeds to chase Leonard down the stairs saying “take me with you, take me with you”. At the second floor, Leonard turns back and says “stay! Stay!”, and Sheldon cowers like a dog and sits all sad looking at the bottom of the stairs. Third scene: Sheldon is still sitting at the bottom of the stairs and then Penny comes walking down and sees him there. She says hello and he gives her a really sad response that prompts Penny to ask him what’s wrong. He says Leonard told him to stay. Penny says she has a bunch of errands to run including dropping off some head shots and signing up for this acting class. Sheldon sighs again and Penny not happily says do you want to come with. Fourth scene: Howard, Raj, Amy, and Leonard are eating lunch at work and Leonard decides to call Penny and tell her he supports her dream. When Penny answers she tells him she is at The Cheesecake Factory and Leonard goes off on how thank goodness she is asking for her job back because he didn’t want to say it was a mistake but thankfully she figured it out on her own. Penny then says she was there to return her uniform and then hangs up on him. Fifth scene: Penny goes back into the car with Sheldon all pissed off from the conversation she had with Leonard. She asks Sheldon if he thinks she did the right thing. He says yes because when you have a dream, you need to put 100% of your focus on that dream. He compares it to when he decided he wanted to become a physicist and wouldn’t take up the task of being chalk monitor for his teacher that year. Sixth scene: Leonard walks in on Penny and Sheldon doing yoga in the apartment. Leonard tells Penny that they should talk and they talk about some things. (I’m sorry I can’t really remember exactly what they talked about) Eventually Sheldon joins the scene and says “yes I think it’s time we all put our cards on the table. I’m just as much involved in this relationship as the two of you. Where is this going? (pointing to Leonard and Penny) Are you going to get married? If so when? Where are we all going to live?”. Penny says “What is going on?”. And Leonard says apparently we are discussing a situation where the two of us live with Sheldon forever. I believe the scene ends with Leonard telling Penny that he wouldn’t be able to do it, but that he is proud of her for doing it. Amy/Howard/Raj First scene: Amy is in her lab looking at brain tumors under a microscope. Howard and Raj come in and ask her if she wants to have lunch with them. Amy makes a joke about just because Sheldon’s not here, you think I don’t have anyone to hang out with, let me get my coat. Enter guest actor Brain Poeshn, Bert who comes in and gives Amy a rock from the geology department. Amy introduces him to Howard and Raj and he leaves the scene as Amy tries to give the rock back to him, but he says he wants her to keep it. After Bert leaves, Howard and Raj tell Amy Bert likes her and she doesn’t believe it until she realizes Bert gives her a pretty rock everyday. Howard asks if Bert knows she has a boyfriend and Amy says it has never come up. Second scene: Amy is in her lab and Bert enters in. He starts going through the process of asking her to go to this geology thing and Amy says before you say anything let me tell you I have a boyfriend. He gets all sad and says that’s what they all say, they just don’t want to be with someone as awkward and off putting as me. Amy says no that’s not it, my boyfriend is way more awkward and off putting than you. He’s all sad and Amy finally looks at him and says yes I’ll go with you. Bert says “sweet it’s a date” and as he leaves Amy says “no it’s not “ and Bert says “too late”. Third scene: Amy is in her lab with Howard and Raj. She is trying to figure out how to tell Bert she would not be interested even if she didn’t have a boyfriend. Howard and Raj start talking about how that will crush him and they start bonding over all the girls that have said things like that to him. Howard and Raj offer to tell Bert about Amy. As they leave Raj tells Howard, “so we tell him she’s a lesbian right?” and Howard responds with “of course we tell him she’s a lesbian”. Fourth scene: This is the tag of the episode. Bert is driving a car and he says “I’m so glad you decided to come with me”. It pans over to Howard in the front seat and Raj in the back. A couple jokes are had and it ends with Bert chanting a geology thing about rocks. Bernadette/Stuart First scene: Bernadette walks into comic book store and startles Stuart who looks very lonely without any customers. Bernadette says she destroyed one of Howard’s comic books and wants to replace it. Stuart says it’s pretty rare and if she gives him a couple days he should be able to find it. Bernadette says she works for a pharmaceutical company and if he can get this done today she could hook him up with antidepressants and what not. Second scene: Stuart is off the phone and says that Capitol Comics has the issue. Stuart says he hates that place because the owner is a jerk. Bernaette thinks for a moment and then asks for the address. Stuart says it’s probably best if he goes with her to make sure the owner doesn’t rip her off. Third scene: They enter Capitol Comics, the place is bumping. Lots of people, even Captain Sweatpants, and they even have lattes and cappacuions for you to order while you wait for comics. The owner comes by Jesse played by Josh Peck who makes very rude commnents about Stuart and his lack of business. Berneadette asks if they have the comic she needs and Jesse says he does. After a few more jokes about Stuart, fed up Bernadette leaves the store and says at least Stuart is a nice person. Fourth scene: Bernadette goes back into Capitol Comics and says a bunch of things to Jesse about how he’s mean, Stuart’s great, and oh yeah I’d like to buy that comic as well. It ends with her purchasing the comic from Jesse.
rachelshamyfan Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 So apparently Sheldon thinks he is involved in Lenny's relationship Only because the writers keep treating him like he is their kid

stardustmelody Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) Thank you, Dana. Wow...I hope I am not seeing what I think I am but it appears like they set the stage for Penny to move in with Sheldon and Leonard? I would hate that to be honest. I really wouldn't like that at all. Please say it isn't so, writers! I really hope they don't go there. Sheldon needs to learn independence and Lenny need time to be a couple (alone without an adult "child" on their hands). The writers need to get Sheldon out of the Lenny relationship period and since when would Sheldon be willing to run errands while Penny delivers headshots and stuff. He would be bored stiff doing that. The writers work so hard at trying to keep Sheldon the same (with Amy), yet then they take him totally out of character and do something like this? Makes no sense! Boy are they pushing the envelope here. Edited December 18, 2013 by stardustmelody

Razberrypie Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I like the look of it the Amy/Stuart/Raj storylines and Bernadette/Stuart storylines seem funny and give us some fresh dynamics. Awesome! Sheldon has run errands with Penny in the past, so I don't see how it is OCC. I think he finds it quite therapeutic. They could have thought of something else for them to do that we haven't seen before but I don't really mind this, it's only one plotline. I'm so glad lenny seems to be under repairs, I just seriously want Penny to be happy with her career so badly. I still feel bad for her
Cecilia Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I actually like the A/H/R storyline very much. I like the fact that Amy wouldn't go out with that guy even if she didn't have a boyfriend. This season the writers make it clear that Amy isn't interested in a relationship but in a relationshipthat involves Sheldon. And it is nice that she doesn't have a clue that someone likes her. This is a bit Sheldony I like it..Plus Raj and Howard are like her older brothers trying to help her with the guy. I am not surprised they didn't tell Sheldon Amy wouldn't want that. And I am glad Amy didn't use the jealousy trick. Bernie's story was funny too glad to see Stuart. I am a little bored with the S/L/P storyline too. It could be dne differently. The sure thing is I wouldn't lije Penny living with Sheldon and Leonard. I hope this is just a way to make it clear to Sheldon that it is not happening ever!!

Boy are they pushing the envelope here. It appears that the writers are trying very hard to keep the long running premise of the show going for as long as possible: L/P slowly putting a life together despite the constant interference of their "child", Sheldon. But this could be a bit of misdirection on their part. They have Sheldon giving voice to L/P's worst nightmare, that he will demand to have his "parents" take care of him forever. It is hard to believe that they will keep Sheldon as a long term road block to the independent lives of L/P and a frustration for Amy waiting for him to come out of this larvae stage. Count Wally de Honk Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Sheldon and Penny doing yoga together…HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I thought I was going mad when I read that. What is this, the last days of Caligula? First jogging, then acting classes, now yoga? It’ll be facials and pedicures next, mark my words. Or more pumicing of hammer toes. The weirder that bastard gets the better… I’m also entirely unsurprised by the news that Sheldon thinks he’s involved in the Leonard and Penny relationship. EQUALLY involved as either of them, apparently. In his head. The same thing happened in White Asparagus. The three-way date at the movies probably haunts Leonard to this day…I think I might have to dust off my Shelnard hat. But good grief….Penny! I think that decision’s worth a drink, no? I couldn’t be more delighted. Huzzah!

tmp Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Amy's a little vixen! She has been pursued by Sheldon, Stuart, and now this guy--and don't forget, last year at xmas, she got Raj interested in her. I can't wait to see the yoga scene. I know not everyone concurs, but I enjoy the Sheldon/Penny friendship. It's sweet and funny. Captain Sweatpants, a traitor!? Say it ain't so!

koops Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I enjoy S/P scenes. What I do not enjoy is the writers turning Sheldon into a child/dog to fit the need of the Lenny plot. It's the same treatment they give Amy often when it comes to Sheldon's plots: forget progress and characterization to get them to fit the story they want to tell. Sheldon has taken the bus in the middle of the night, this season, he has gone to work with Amy often, he has gone to Tx on his own just last week to assist with childbirth, yet he just cannot find his way to Caltech without Leonard so they can make the joke he's like an annoying puppy dog. And set up the later scene where he annoys Lenny again.Take Sheldon out of the picture and, imo, the Lenny story is much better. Maybe they should have had him help Bernie instead.

BlackWhiteRose Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Thanks for the taping report dana! Penny and Sheldon doing yoga OMG I love that! Joe Pail Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) @ koops: It´s not like Sheldon wouldn´t know how to get to work. Cecilia Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I forgot to thank dana before!!!! Thank you very much!!! The yoga scene is going to be h-y-s-t-e-r-i-c-a-l!!!!! I would prefer having Sheldon with Bernie though they are funny together and we don't get to see much of them. It is funny to see Sheldon as Penny's and Leonard's child and this is how he feels some times but it is true that he can ride the bus and he could ask Amy to give him a ride. It would be much more believable if he was complaining for the forced vacation but acknowledging the fact that he has no choice rather than having him chasing Leonard down the stairs. It can still be funny and I hope this is just their way to try and resolve that thing between L/S/P and having Sheldon realize that he is not a child and definitely not THEIR child. He already said this season that he is not a child and that he is a grown man. It is about time he started act like one right?? As koops said the Lenny would be way better with Sheldon out of the picture.

It's just that Sheldon always tries to get things done his way. He already sees Amy all the time at his place and Leonard and Penny like her. He sees them as his parents. It doesn't really have to do with Amy. She is his girlfriend, his imaginary parents like her(rember at 7.05 after their advice he realized that y could be right),they can do their homework on his couch(again 7.06 Amy's daydream suggests that they work at his place) and play videogames together and his life is perfect!!! Having said that I thing he should really get through that phase. He can't live like that forever. And of course he has to take Amy into account. Oldnavy Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I read the report and does look like it could be pretty funny. I was wondering how all the Shamys feel about him and is Bert going to be for Shamy what Alex was to Lenny?

First of all, Bert has no connection to any of the other characters, Alex worked for Sheldon. Amy made it very clear she isn't interested in him, Leonard didn't do this with Alex (not right away, what Amy did do).
