Well thats an opinion and a personal preference of the show, does not make it fact. Their are tons of people who love the relationships in the show, so don't think they think the quality is slipping. To me I don't think the quality is slipping, I just think the writing is way to Drama right now, need to go back to light hearted nerdy comedy, thats all just an adjustment.

Of course its an opinion, that should be blatantly obvious.

Well great I was just giving my opinion, the two are not mutually exclusive.

I don't think any of them were awful.  I really like them all, there are just some I like better.   For instance, I really like season 2,  but I think that season one was very inconsistent, as the writers tried to find each of the character's voice.

Yes awful was much too strong a word, a better one would have been 'average'

I personally think S5 was the best, especially for Shamy. Everything (including the other couples) seemed to increase at a steady pace. And then S6 happened.

Season 5 was the best so far, but season 6 did have it's moments, and my favorite episode so far.

I really can't choose my favourite season. I am going back and forth between 4 and 5. And I have to admit that I didn't realize that many people didn't like s6. Of when I started talking TBBT on internet I started overanalizing everything so I got it. But tbh there are just a couple of episodes that I hate and maybe I don't like some parts of the others. I hope that S7 will make me even more confused and go back and forth between s 4,5 and 7 :)

It was the same with me, I used to like s6 the best until i went on the internet and read other peoples analizes of it, so I started analyzing myself and found pieces i dont like.. so now I go back and forth about season 6

I prefer Seasons 2, 4, and 5 the most so far.   S6 was one of the worst seasons and S7 has been too all over the place. I love certain episodes and really find other episodes pretty lame in S7 thus far.   I guess I feel the first five seasons were far more "even" in writing overall.   I think once they decided to do this back and forth business with Lenny and with Shamy, things started going a bit downhill.   Too much focus on making a step forward only to devalue it the next episode is frustrating.   There has been a lot of that in these past two seasons. I don't mind slow and steady, but steady is the operative word.  So far we have been all over the map this season.    Also, I think when you harp on the same jokes that gets old real fast.   I just liked the character balance and even writing better in S4 and 5.

Better let it go, we had some fun, some people didn't like it.

Not much we can do about it now.

Well.... no, I'm not going to let it go. I got punk'd as well and I thought it was a stupid prank, and I'm sorrry that I cared about the (not real) outrage of some Shamies, but I am going to laugh my ass off when the real drama ensues.....

And what you are saying is opinion as well and NOT fact. I personally think that the quality of the writing for the show is slipping, based, amongst MANY other things on the artificial stalling of the relationships that don't seem to be evolving as organically as they once did. Besides that, some things are getting repetitive, and while one thing might be funny the first 20 times, after a while it can get old. That being said, I still like the show very much, primariliy because I am invested in the characters even if I sometimes cringe at how they are written, because I don't find them as consistent as I thought they should be. Btw, I don't mind the drama, I just hope it'd be done better. nad I enjoy the lighthearted episodes just as well.

As Tensor said, season 1 was inconsistent, but I liked it, and I did enjoy all the other seasons up to season 6 except for Penny/Raj and a little too much emphasis in Penny's drinking (IMO) , and the odd thing here and there (Speckerman). I liked the first 1/2 of season 6, and the second 1/2 as well, just not that much, since it was a little inconsistent for my taste. For me season 7 has been all over the place hitting its low point with the "Itchy brain stimulation" . The writers appear a little bit burned out tome , but....we'll see.

Oh, yes, indeed, you were so heartbroken for the Shamys.  I didn't find anyone expressing much caring or sympathy or whatever.

It's already ancient history.

Then there was no need to make a mildly snarky comment then about what constitutes degrees of caring...
