Haha no, I had had my coffee! Honestly I was just a little sick of hearing about 'the movie', especially when there are now more positive things to focus on. Ill go back to being mellow ha!

Another symptom is atrophy of the sense of humor.

 

 

I dont know if this was directed at me or not but ill give a reply anyway. I have a sense of humour, obviously it just differs from yours.

 

Anyway, im still so buzzed for this episode! I had a read again, since the first read i was mainly just squealing over the Lenny stuff, and noticed some of the Shamy stuff in it i also really like. First thing being Sheldon telling Amy she was olive oyl. After all the trouble he went through last season with the couples costume thing, this really stuck out. Lots and lts to look forward to here!

 

Oh and since i dont think i have said it yet, a big THANK YOU! To Kyzzx for the report. You are awesome.

First, a huge thank you to Monique and Kelle for taking the time to go and writing those great summaries. Amazing work and truly, truly appreciated. 

 

Boy does that episode sound great. 

 

The Penny/Leonard scenes warm my heart. It is such a touching attention on Leonard's part to want to spend a couple of days just with his girlfriend so he can share his amazing experience with her. Considering they have never been on holiday together (without the rest of the gang), it looks like their first mini vacation. Great reaction from Penny as well ! These two are on a great path. 

 

Howard and Raj... Bless them, they never fail to deliver. While I get the undertone (does is still count as undertone when so explicit ?) the writers are having fun with with these two, I have to say I find it somewhat moving that these two characters like and trust each other so much they can share this sort of stuff. Their friendship is weirdly beautiful. 

 

Amy is in a bit of a pickle, stuck between her boyfriend and her bestie, and she reacts like a pro. She refuses to take any crap from Sheldon, stands up for herself without being too dismissive of Sheldon's feelings? Atta girl ! 

 

Leonard is forced to admit that he truly likes Sheldon. Hurrah ! I count that as great progress. Due to the nature of their interactions, it is sometimes easy to believe the only reason Leonard sticks around is because he has no choice. Of course he has the choice to leave and of course the reason why he does not is because, ultimately, he cares for his beloved praying mantis. Lovely. 

 

Penny behaves very well in this episode. I like that she is a good friend/mommy figure to Sheldon and takes him places, at the cost of her sanity. I also appreciate that she tries not to get between the two friends and even attempts to advocate in favour of a reconciliation. She loves them both (in very different ways, of course) and does not want them to part ways. Penny does not want to be stand between Bert and Ernie and it is very nice of her. 

 

Sheldon is at an all time best in this episode. He thinks of buying a welcome back gift for Leonard, has his best friend's back by trying to keep his favourite homunculus's girlfriend from cheating, gets his feelings hurt by Leonard's deception but overcomes it because he loves his buddy too much to stay mad for too long. Perfect. Also this episode seems to present Mr. Parsons with great opportunity for his amazing comedy styling : between the sailor hat, the "a ha", the petty resentment, the screaming in the street... Sheldon is never as funny as when he is at his most childish and this episode delivers the goods. The little boy got his feelings hurt and will stomp his foot as hard as he can. Perfect !

I had not understood it like that but you may be absolutely right. 

 

My guess was that either Sheldon was completely oblivious of the implication and was just giving her the coupon he had received as a result of letting her use his supermarket card to buy her tampons or that he was, once again, mocking her sex life by implying she might need such a product in the future. 

 

I guess the meaning will depend entirely on Mr. Parsons's delivery of the line. And kuddos to Penny (the writers really) for the great return of (almost) the same line, addressed to Howard. What goes around comes around. 

 

 

I am positively delighted with this episode !

So no development on the video, I am fine with that.  Carving out some Leonard and Penny time, all seems good with that.  Overall looks like a solid episode.  I am not sure about the Howard gaining weight thing.  Seems like they have already had a Raj running joke about that for years.

As @Chiara mentioned in the Lenny forum the second episode sounds epic. I don't see anything really that the Lenny's, Shamy's or even Shenny's can complain about. The earlier discussion of Penny's topless video is gone at least for now. Granted it could be brought back at a later date. It did give some people on this forum something to talk about for a week. For the rest of the non-forum(non spoiler) TBBT fans it will just be a temporary shock. Putting the two episodes back to back lessens the shock. How well things are going with the Lenny should be beneficial to the Shamy. Maybe it will give Sheldon the idea that he can't infringe on Lenny's privacy. And why should he if he has Amy.

The Vagisil line is not something that you would expect Sheldon to say but it's obvious that the writers couldn't resist such a great zinger. Penny interpreted the line in that way which is how she shot it back to Howard.

 

In the reality of the show, that sort of humor would be lost on Sheldon but he does have facts about everything under the sun and maybe he read that book he showed Alex that got him in trouble with HR.

People are really reading into the Vagisil thing ha ha! I thought it was just like when you give someone something and say 'think of me when you use it!' as a joke (like if a friend is 50p short of cash and you give them 50p and you say 'now you will always remember me when you look at that') but with Sheldon and it being Vagisil it's just funnier? I didn't really think it was implying anything, vagina-wise or anti-Shenny wise or whatever. Just like when he said 'you will be my C-Men' he just never gets these things. 

 

The people at Vagisil must be really chuffed with all the attention their product is getting today!

One thing I learned after last night is that we all (me included) have to try not to get so worked up over episodes that haven't even aired yet. I typed, "bleh" after reading last weeks report and I watch it last night and it wasn't "bleh" at all in my opinion.

Anyway, the Howard and Raj scene made me laugh so hard. Haha. Bernie walks in like, "WTF is happening?"

I loved when Sheldon had his ear to Penny's apartment door trying to figure out who she was cheating on Leonard with and Amy is right next to him with her ear on his shoulder or something as if she can hear through his body. Haha.

Best behind the moment: The audience kept laughing at the wrong moment during the comic book store scene to the point where it was messing up his line and he said, "I don't know what's happening." hahaha.

She was looking around for him, and finally spotted him on his way, and was like, “come on buddy!” and told him to run. When he finally got there and climbed up, she was trying to ask him what he thought of the new line – “Did you like succubus? Did you like it?” Johnny assured the audience that no one was going to be twerking, then said he actually hadn’t known what that was, and had to look it up online the other morning. Kaley pointed straight ahead to her mom, and was like, “You know what it is!” Other than that, it was their basic thanking the audience, and recognizing the crew for all their hard work.

 

i just find this bit really cute. tho 'did you like succubus?' reaaaally? after finding out what succubus means it just seems like a really hilarious and rather weird question ahaaa.

How are people missing the play on words with the Vagisil comment?  It revolves around the ambiguity of the word "it".  When Sheldon says "think of me when you are applying it", he means when she is applying the coupon to her bill.  The obvious alternative meaning being when she is applying the Vagisil.  In Sheldon's mind, "it = coupon", in everyone else's mind, "it = Vagisil".

So someone else wrote a taping report too on twitter and they wrote about the behind the scenes a bit more... Not sure if it happened or not but here it is.


A bit of fun stuff – during the long break before the writers came up with the succubus line, Kaley and Mayim and Jim were just hanging around in the hallway, and at one point “Some Nights” started playing, and Kaley and Mayim were both getting pretty into singing it. Kaley just stood in one place, while Mayim was wandering around, and singing parts of it directed towards Jim.

Then a bit later, there wasn’t music playing because Mark was doing one of his bits with the audience, but Kaley was trying to get the DJ’s attention, and was motioning for him to play Call Me Maybe. He finally put it on, and Kaley got excited and said something about a dance off, and then she and Mayim started doing all the dance moves from the flashmob.

Lol, that "someone else" is the person who gave us taping reports for 3 years before the studio asked her to stop last year.  If she wrote it, you can be assured it happened.

The second epsiode looks a bit so-so. A repeat of S5's The Friendship Contraction when Sheldon wanted Leonard back. Can they never do a Lenny episode without involving Sheldon? It seems not. As for the 'think of me when you apply it'   LOL!

I don't know, you're probably right, but until we see the actual episode we won't have the context. That's the problem with reading 'reports' on episodes. No matter how good a job the writer does, they filter the report through their own POV, then we (the readers) do the same. I find it best not to get too negative until I've seen the episode. Then it's only my own bias I have to deal with.

Well they need hurry it up!  Sheldon comes off more and more childish each time he does this and we are moving into season seven already and you have to wonder how much longer are they going to milk this tired storyline. Also Sheldon and Amy don't get their time together interrupted constantly by others to include Lenny.
