Count Wally de Honk
Sent by a coconut held on a piece of vine carried by two European swallows. I was going to say that, dagnabbit! Go back to your bear-skin comment! As for Howard's ubiquitous mother, I read a fanfic once where Howard was the Wizard of Oz. When Dorothy et al (ie, Penny and the chaps) arrives and knocks of the door of the Emerald City, it's answered by Mrs Wolowitz' screaming voice. I remember thinking how perfectly appropriate that was. Sent from the Memory of a Swan.
koops
It'll be cute if Sheldon tries a little too hard to be a good boyfriend and overdoes it. Shamy fans: don't get your hopes up, but I don't think it has to be sweeps for something to happen. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the L/P ILY was during sweeps. BTW, what's Howard doing giving relationship advice?! In this episode, he's having far worse problems than Sheldon and Amy. It sounds like that's probably what's going to happen. Or at least I hope. But no, I don't think anything major will happen in this episode, the ILY with L/P was indeed in the first episode of sweeps. Although it does make me wonder... doesn't this whole sweeps business make shows very predictable? You can tell when things are going to happen. And yes, I think that's what Leonard is pointing out when he says "Smart. Take relationship advice from a guy who spent last night braiding Raj's hair." Oh, Howard. I still hope it's Bernadette who messes up this time though. Sent from a Nokia 3310

Sent from a Nokia 3310 Yeah, it's gotten to where you know when all those "very special episodes" are going to air on every show--special guest stars, weddings, shootings, BIG NEWS!!, etc. On TXF it was always when the big mytharc eps would air. But since that's when they need to punch their ratings, that's when they pull out the big guns. But I don't mind as long as I get some good eps! Nogravitasatall
Is the couple that is getting closer together, Leonard and Penny? Over on the Lenny thread there is some concern that the writers are messing with them again. I'm sorry, you may think the concern is for durability of the couple but I don't think it is. You know we do these things just to mess with you and make your life a living hell. Until we get some actual episodes it's the only fun we have. Sent by a coconut held on a piece of vine carried by two European swallows. Yes. I exist to annoy Phanta. No other reason - well, no other good reason (Sent using some portion of the electromagnetic spectrum and maybe some photons down some loooong threads of glass. hamerman55
Regarding the discussions of various topics and whether they seem out of place, I've been caught a couple of times making posts that were out of place in the immediate discussion because it has moved so fast. There have been times where I wanted to follow up on a response to something I posted, and several pages have gone by. This is not a complaint, but an observation. Bernie has messed up big time in the past, and apologized nicely when she realized it. A particularly good example is when she ratted out Howard to his mom about going to space. It seems like she is good at modulating her responses with Howard. This was an adult problem, and she handled it well. When Howard was acting childish (I'm thinking of the compulsive X-box playing in the VD episode or the 3D printer fiasco) she treats him like a child. As far as I can remember, Howard tends to mess up in childish ways, while Bernie makes more adult errors. Amy has proven to be perfectly capable of exploiting a situation to her benefit in Shamy. She is also willing to "experiment" on either Sheldon or the group at large. Amy finding out about Sheldon's comments to Kripke regarding their supposed sex life should be an excellent inspiration for her to "experiment" again. One of my favorite types of plots. I thought I was going to hurt myself laughing when she tries to attach Sheldon's childhood pleasures to her. Sheldon's condescension regarding her field is particularly hilarious as it works so well on him most of the time (breaking his need for closure did not go so well, but it did frustrate the hell out of him). We can assume that Bawwy told everyone about Sheldon's hot and freaky sex life, so if Sheldon sits with Amy and her colleagues, it is likely to come up in some oblique way. They would be careful, but as neurobiologists, it would come up (and it is a comedy, not a documentary). They wouldn't even need to be salacious, just note they have a particularly intense and sexually satisfying relationship. Amy would be ready to run with that. JonRS92
I'm sorry, you may think the concern is for durability of the couple but I don't think it is. I think some are or were concerned. I think that has lessened now though and the concern now is for Penny taking a low blow tactic rather than concern hat the writers are messing with Lenny. I remember thinking how perfectly appropriate that was. I'm waiting for the episode where we find out that Mrs. Wolowitz is a robot maid that Howard built and all the stories about his past were just an attempt to get attention. Meanwhile his real parents are sweet old Jewish couple living in Miami
notchinc
I'm thinking these neuroscience colleagues are good looking young men that Sheldon just laid eyes on when entering the cafeteria. Jelly Shelly comes to lay his claim and this is why he's hell bent on pointing out the physical relationship. Wednesday morning cannot come soon enough................... eirwinrommel
On the subject of why Howard didn't move back in with his mother. A bigger Question is why he moved back in with her when he returned to California. M.I.T. is on the other side of the country from LA and Howard had to have been there for years to earn his masters degree. I believe the answer is twofold. First is money, when he graduated he probably didn't have a job lined up and needed someplace to stay. Second, unlike now he didn't have a close friend he could stay with until he could find work and another place to stay. The second is the reason he didn't move back in with his Mother this time. BTW where's Stuart living? He was staying on Raj's couch at the beginning of season 6 but by episode 17 he was alone again. Sent by a coconut held on a piece of vine carried by two European swallows. Well, I think Howard stayed with his mother mainly because he wanted too. He's an only child with a single parent so of course he's very bounded to his mother. Not to mention that he needs special care... And for the second point, I think Stuart lives in the comic books store, I don't know in which episode they mentionned that or if I dreamt it that but I believe this is his current situation. I think he came back to California and got trapped again, when he first stayed with her, like Raj did. Now that he knows better, he won't go back, to avoid the trap. tmp
because no one else does that. lol Now, I must defend my statement on logical grounds. The statement "E! takes liberties with the facts" does not preclude other outlets doing the same thing. (Sorry, I'm in the middle of reading a book called The Realm of Rhetoric for my dissertation.) Disgusted
If I were Bernie I'd be worried to be left alone, Sheldon has grabbed Penny's boob, stuffed a sweaty Mrs. Walowitz into a dress, and rubbed Amy's chest.
