Many people do seem to prefer having a separate spoiler thread, so I think this is a good idea. I have added a new spoiler marker for these threads and I've applied it to this thread. I can only apply one marker to each thread, so this ship thread doesn't have the 'Safe Zone' marker but it does still apply.

For all those who have read what has been posted in "S7 spoiler thread"

It's weird that the Amy/Bernadette scene is nothing like they presented in. It sounded like Amy/Bernie were going to get in a fight but finally they are enjoying being hit on. I also hope the fight isn't over a guy. It would be an horror show if they want make Amy look desperate and that she would go off with anyone. But that probably won't happen.  A possible scenario for a comedic fight between A/B would be that fact that Bernie clearly explained that if Penny is not here, the guys obviously want to pick up Bernie. Then Amy will be offended and there is the fight .What would be funny is that these guys actually wanted to flirt with Amy and not Bernie (because apparently they attend into a conference of neuroscience and then recognize the famous AFF who is a big name in their field ). What do you think ?

I'm not doubting that she'd enjoy it since she's always suffered from a serious lack of male attention but I agree that we don't have to worry about anything happening. She may joke about it but the whole thing would probably scare her to death and she clearly loves the living daylights out of Sheldon. TPTB would be idiots since they know Amy has endeared herself to millions of fans and it would make her pretty unlikeable if she went down that route.

Also, it would be awesome if Amy got recognized, and not entirely implausible either since she has had some of her work published, sorta like her own admirer (but perhaps less invasive in her life than Ramona, shall we say). That girl deserves some lovin'... I'd hit on her...

It's barely the beginning of their trip--they've apparently just gotten to the hotel at this point.

I think that they might end up getting drunk and then things start to happen--maybe they squabble about Sheldon and Howard, the alcohol loosening their tongues so that they say things they would normally keep to themselves (like their fight in the Parking Lot ep) or else they start to argue about their respective fields, or maybe they just get drunk and start dancing on the tables or something.

I think the scene in the sides doesn't really go far enough to be able to tell what's really going to happen.

ETA: I think that they might get hit on by the men in the bar, and maybe there's some kind of mayhem that comes from it--they get drunk, they like the attention, but maybe it starts to go too far and they have to figure out a way out of it.  Someone said that maybe Amy clobbers some guy, like she did the TSA agent.

There are all kinds of possibilities.  And this scene is just the snippet with the waiter's lines, so it's not intended to show the whole scenario.

Even if I really enjoyed the words battle in the parking lot ep ( omg, that was hilarious ^_^ ), The same scenario repeating again will be redundant and kind of boring. If Amy and Bernadette are together without Penny for the first time, the writers should explore a new dynamic between these two. But that also probably won't happen. The other scenarios that you described seem much more realistic and still fun so, can't wait for what S7 is bringing on :)

For much of her apparent bravado, I think Amy is almost as afraid of physical contact as Sheldon is, because while she seems to want to corner Sheldon into providing her with it, she told him (in the Dungeons and Dragons episode) "hold on Sheldon, I'm not there yet".

Well, nothing says it will be repeat of the PL episode material.  I was just speculating on what kinds of directions they could go.  I'm sure that whatever happens, the trip will end up being something of a disaster--apparenty including them getting drunk.  Whatever happens after they get drunk is unknown.  They might get arrested, they might have to make a drunken run for it, they might just end up with terrific hangovers that make it impossible for them to enjoy their lectures, if they even make it to them, etc.

But the little snippet we see in the sides is just the jumping off point of what is to come.

Remember that the sides are just the bits that include lines for any bit parts--in this case the waiter.  Whatever we get to see around that is just a bonus, but doesn't say much about the full scene, plot, etc.

Sure but it stills interesting to speculate, even with just a side. It's just sad because, whatever they are planning to do, that seems to be a guile to put Sheldon and Penny together in order to avoid any shamy progress during the summer ( saving that for our precious eyes this season ? )

optimist mode off --> ON : Well, it's just speculation around a side of the first episode, sure they will be plenty of surprises and good Shamy interactions this season ! :)

Actually you are mistaken. I checked, there's no mention of that dialogue in that episode (season 6 episode 23). Amy does say something like that in season 4 episode 20.

Amy (on webcam): Every word. Our false gossip meme appears to have reached node lambda.

Sheldon: This is moving faster than we thought.

Amy: Agreed. It appears the rate of gossip transmission is proportional to the number of nodes squared.

Sheldon: I must say, Amy, pretending to have intercourse with you is giving me a great deal of satisfaction.

Amy: Slow down, Sheldon. I’m not quite there yet.

She (and the Shamys) have had two more years of frustration since then, and that's why the D&D episode was such a big deal (plus, if Sheldon had said that there was no chance of future intimacy, she'd have probably dumped him [and rightly so]).

As I pointed out (somewhere else) what's in the sides doesn't always make it to the final script, and sometimes even scenes that were taped don't make it to the air. Anyone remember Sheldon's version of 'Streetcar' that was shot but ended up on the cutting room floor? (I hope it makes it to the DVD) Or in the original version of the V-Day sides L/P left the restaurant and H/B tried to max out Leonard's card?

This is what I've been trying to say--that while the sides are interesting and do give us some insight as to what's probably going to happen in an episode, they shouldn't be used to try to guess the entire episode, or to say--"It's going to be horrible because [this persons] doesn't say/do {this/that]!!!".

While one might be able to extrapolate something, based on what's around the edges (the endings or beginnings of the surrounding scenes, the page number showing more or less where the scene falls in the overall script), they're very early drafts and, as you say, very much subject to change.

One can kind of guess what might happen, as in the Amy/Bernie story, based on what Molaro has said and what kinds of things are usually done in such situations--which was what I was bringing up.  They will almost certainly get drunk, but there are a number of ways the writers can take them from there, etc.

That is a very good point.  I think sometimes when they finally look at the scenes, they really don't think they put across the point they are trying to make, or they add nothing to the episode, so they cut them.  The sides are really a hint, that is all, they don't really tell you what the episode is really about and should be treated as such.

Emmy-nominated thesps reflect on show’s direction

Jon Weisman Awards Editor@jonweisman

If the number of scenes Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik have together in the first episode of the upcoming season premiere of “The Big Bang Theory” is a spoiler, then read no further.

But the answer to the question speaks to the evolution of the show.

“Big Bang” co-stars and fellow Emmy nominees Parsons and Bialik spoke about the episode, which is shooting this week, at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Performers Peer Group Reception on Monday at the Sheraton Universal.

“We don’t have any scenes together,” said Bialik, nominated for comedy supporting actress for the second year in a row for playing Amy Farrah-Fowler.

“That didn’t shock me though,” said Parsons, a two-time Emmy comedy lead actor winner as Sheldon Cooper. “Amy’s taken on such a life of her own.”

Parsons noted that while the show embraces the relationship between Sheldon and Amy, it isn’t dependent upon moving them forward at light speed.

“In a weird way, I think that’s one of the charms of the show, one of the reasons it works,” Parsons said. “There’s something really reliable about it. … They (the writers) have been so careful of not trying to make giant leaps.”

Said Bialik: “It’s what we do. It’s a great first episode, (even though) I don’t think there’s anything surprising.”

Bialik was in better shape than she was at the same event a year ago, when she was days removed from a serious car accident that left her hand heavily bandaged.

She commented on Parsons’ newfound celebrity in the world of sports. When NBA star and 2012-13 Los Angeles Laker center Dwight Howard was in the process of choosing his next team as a free agent, Parsons made a video – with a healthy supply of logic, of course – imploring Howard to join the Houston Rockets.

“I think most people don’t know that Jim Parsons knows sports like you do,” Bialik said to him.

Said Parsons: “Well, let’s be honest, I don’t think I had a whole hell of a lot to do with it. Perhaps (I did), and maybe I should just go with that and I was the tipping point. (But) they allowed me to come back to L.A. after it, so I (probably didn’t) have much of an effect.”

Parsons agreed that it didn’t seem that many Lakers fans missed Howard all that much.

“I didn’t think that they should. … But they did know that the relationship with Howard wasn’t working, don’t you think? It’s true. I do think this is a better situation for him – I really do.”
